I purchased the player to show instructional videos to our girls softball team. The display works reasonably well out doors and was perfect for what we purchased it for. The movies that I have played on it were very sharp and clear, even the sound was good for a portable. The USB and Card reader ports makes this player special. The Card reader comes in handy at family gatherings where you can take the Card out of your digital camera and display your pictures for everyone to see.
