4 of 5 Great, but rechargable battery has problem Thursday, July 13, 2006 A Customer from Ellicott city, MD
I bought/exchanged two sets of it. Works good. Easy, clear. In my test, the max is about 2 Mile (can hear, but not clear, lots of noise), in about 1 Mile, it gets to clear enough to talk. I am in a rural area outside Baltimore, MD, so not too many buildings.
The problem is the rechargabe battery comes with it, the first set, one of the battery went out less than 2 mins after a fully charge, so I returned the set for a replacement, and got the second set. Now it's even worse, both battery went out in less than 10 sec after a fully charge. I am returning this one too. But still thinking getting another set. Since actually the set works with either the included recharg battery or 4 AA batteries. And the AA batteries seems last long. Was this review helpful?

Nice radios for traveling in 2 cars. Great around the campgrounds. Range though isnt great, but for the price and sound its worth the money Was this review helpful?

I purchased 3 sets of these for family & friends to use while on vacation. I have no complaints. They work just as advertised.
The furthest we tried them (if I remember correctly) was about 1/3 to 1/2 mile away (using FRS *low band*) within city limits. They worked very well.
I was surprised on the clarity of these Midland radio's.
Note...one set came with a defect, but Buy.com made it easy to return while I placed another order (to expedite shipping).
They're fairly small and easy to use. Hard to beat the price considering what you get.
