Midland GXT808VP3 22 Channel Two Way Radio with up to 20-Mile Range

These have many features that I will probably never use. What is great about them is that if I just want to use them as a good walkie talkie without all of the complicated features I can. Set up was a snap and the quality of reception and range was fantastic. For the price, I feel that I got my money's worth. I also like the fact that they are pretty sturdy and can therefore handle being in harsh conditions. They have performed as good or better than advertised. I can't imagine someone not being able to use them for car to car communication unless he is a complete idiot.

I bought the radios for my twin 9 year old boys and they have had a lot of fun with them so far. I set the shared channels up for them and everything has worked just fine. Not sure how much range they have yet, since they haven't gotten more than a mile apart with them so far. Overall, I'd say they are easy to set up and easy to use, and a bargain at the price paid.

The buying experience thru Buy.com was fast, easy, and they shipped quickly! All I wanted to be able to do was speak between cars with my sister on our trip to FL from PA, but the directions were so porly written I could not figure out how to set the radios up so they'd llink with one another, so I packed them away and will rely on the cell phone! Maybe when I am settled in the new place I will get someone to set it up for me - it could just be me being tech-challenged.

Purchased these radios expecting a range up to 26 mile, instead I receive radios that are clearly rated at 20 miles. The factory package clearly states up 20 mile range. If you're expecting a 26 mile radio, DO NOT buy these.

Over all a good set of walkietalkies. Advertised as 26 Mile Range. After receiving, I contacted Buy.com and informed them I received a 20 Mile range set, they issued a call tag to return the set to Buy.com and would send me the 26 Mile range in place of the 20 Mile range. After returning the 20 mile set, Buy.com sent me another 20 mile set. Somethings wrong either in the ad or in the warehouse.

THE MIDLAND FACTORY PACKAGING CLEARLY STATES THESE RADIOS HAVE A RANGE OF UP TO 20-MILES AND NOT 26-MILES. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE RADIOS IF YOU WANT THE 26-MILE RANGE RADIOS.

I purchased these radios only to find that the factory package clearly states that the radios have a range up to 20 Miles and not 26 miles. Emails to customer service go unanswered.

These work very well on the open water... 5 miles without issue. Probably works best over open areas (water, desert, parking lot, or in air). The vibrate call alert is a nice feature since I can not hear anything above the noise of my Wave Runner. Instructions are a bit condensed... not much explanation on what features do, but able to follow on setup.

26 Mile Range? I am lucky if I get 2 miles out of this thing. In addition, the instructions are complex and confusing.

The GXT808VP3 units are a 20 mile range set; not 26 mile as described. Everything else is correct. 22 Channels, 142 privacy codes, charger and batteries, and they're waterproof. The units carry a 3 year warranty. Overall I'm satisfied except for the fact that they are not a 26 mile range set.
