I have a Zune 80GB and my girl has a Zune 30GB. For the 30GB, its perfect for home charging without the computer and if you have some speakers that you can simple attach to the headphone port, you have yourself a mini portable music station, with the use of the remote control...very handy, and stylish looking as well. Only issue found was getting the tv mode to work, but that may either be the cables or just figuring out the right settings to get the zune to show on the tv. For the 80GB, you need to remove the top portion for the 80GB to fit and be able to charge (there is a release button in the area the remote control would be in the base), otherwise, its a TIGHT fit and will scratch and might not charge because of the snug fit. The release button to remove the top portion was a bit of a hassle, but once off, your good to go on the 80GB. Remote works flawlessly and charging to the computer, no issues as well...overall for both types of Zune, a GREAT BUY!!!

I stumbled across this while looking at cases for my 80GB Zune. After reading the other reviews I decided to go ahead and order one. I thought that I couldn't go wrong given the price. I don't know for sure if in fact this unit was originally designed for the 80GB model but, it does not work the easiest to connect with the dock. It does work but as others have commented it is a very tight fit compared to the old 40GB iPod dock I have. You just need to be real careful so you don't break something while trying to dock your Zune 80. I don't believe that the smaller Zune models would have this problem since the 80 is thicker than the smaller models. It is for this reason I gave it 4 stars in the ease of use category. Over all I love the quality of the video on my 50" Plasma when I make files from my own DVD's using "Handbrake". It makes excellent High Quality files for the Zune.

By far the most excellent dock. I have an iPod dock also, but nothing like this one! Wish I had never bought the iPod. I would highly recommend anyone with Zune to buy one of these. It is inexpensive and totally fabulous.

I'm very happy with my purchase of the AV kit. Everything works very well, except the down button the remote is a little buggy. Still, it works once it's warmed up. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice AV hookup and remote kit.

Its really nice kit designed by Microsoft for their Zune. The look & feel is really good. But no proper documentation provided with the product. Some of the things you will have to find it out on your own. Like - 1. To use the AV Kit, you need to connect Zune to a power supply (either through PC USB port or AC adaptor). It won't work without that and its not mentioned in the documentation. I was expecting it to work like all my other AV kit (camera,camcorder etc) 2. Its same for the remote (does not work if Zune is NOT connected to power supply). I would say the Dock works only when its connected to power supply (via USB or AC adaptor). And that was a bit disappointing. I was expecting it to use my Zune's internal battery. Leaving all this, the product is really cool for the price I purchased (25$). I would recommend it to all.

Bought this to go along with my 30GB Zune (chocolate brown!) and my wireless speakers from Sharper Image. I wanted a remote that would control the entire Zune menu - not just volume and skipping songs, and this remote does that. The quality of the components is excellent - especially at $19.99, and I would guess you'd pay MUCH more buying them separately. My setup: I put my Zune in the cradle on the window ledge looking out on my back deck. I plug the connector into the wireless transmitter and put the wireless indoor/outdoor speakers on my deck. Now I can listen to music out there and see what's playing and manage the entire Zune menu with the remote through the window.

I'm happy with this for the price that i paid, but would be upset if i had paid original price. like said before, the video transfer onto a large TV is pretty awful, but i mainly got this for the audio output and the wall charger so i'm pleased.

The item is very easy to use with the exception of plugging in the 80 gig Zune. The smaller size Zunes fit easier due to the design. Other than that the unit works well and is easy to use.

This is a great buy. Cannot beat the price for what you get. The freedom you get with the remote is worth the money alone. Snugness is actually better than having the Zune wobble off when/if bumped :-)

I was surprised on how much of a value this was compared to a local purchase which is closer to $100 which makes it and excellent value. I was pleased with how many accessories came in the box, you only get half that much at the $100 price. I do have to say that the i wasn't completly satisfied becasue it was advertised as a 80gig Zune accessory and even though it does fit and function properly it does require that the spacer be remioved in order for it to fit. Which leaves it looking as if the 80 gig was and after thought. Overall thogh a good purchase value. I will continue to look for the spacer to dress it back up.

I bought this product for my 2nd gen 80gb zune and couldn't be happier. After reading some reviews I had expected a snug fit, but it wasn't nearly as bad an I expected (don't know what the fuss is about!). I certainly don't mind that it's a tight fit, but for those that it does bother you can easily take off the top cover in about 3 seconds. All in all, I don't see why anybody would spend the additional $60-70 for the v2 kit. This one looks better (my own opinion of course), works the same, and for me was simply a must have for the price.

It was overall an amazing product for the Microsoft Zune 30GB. I greatly recommend this product to anybody who possesses a Zune 30GB. However I was a bit disappointed when the Remote did not work as well as it should've. The important center button which allows us to select items and the volume up buttons did not work very well. This is expected of any product that is sold at a very lower price as compared to the original price.

Fantastic product for a fantastic price. Zune base is heavy and very stable. Cables are high quality. Charger doubles as a data cable. But the best part of this kit is the remote. It has a nice tactile feel controls the Zune from across the room (obviously). The back of the remote is magnetic so you can slap it on the refrigerator and it will stay. This thing retails for over $90. At this price, I got two.

This unit allows your Zune to be hooked up to an audio/video system. You can play play your media through the system. Great for playlist events (photo/movie/music). Buy.com has a great price. I bought two and will need to buy another two for friends and family. The best feature is the remote control. You'll be glad once you get one. It is a very tight for for the 80, but with TLC it works. I''ll probably take the Dremel and touch it up so the long term won't take its toll.

The only thing I wish this could do is stretch it up and look good on my big lcd display. The scaling is not so good with an hd tv (should've expected that..ahh). Highly Recommended.

Everything you need to hook your zune to your entertainment systems comes with this package. Setup was easy, took 5 minutes and your Zune is on charge, ready to use and avaiable to play your music, watch your videos and view your pics through any TV with a/v inputs. The cradle looks nice as well so you don't have to hide it from view from your theatre setup. Video quality on my 50" DLP wasn't great but resoulution from a 3" screen to a 50" you're going to lose some quality. With the included remote your theatre system is now your own 1000+ mp3 player. Overall this is an excellent package to add to your 1rst gen zune. Well worth the money and I would advise others to purchase.

this is so useful and awesome. My wife and I both have Zunes, and it is so easy when we get home from the gym or work to just drop the player into the dock and get a charge going as well as be able to play tracks over our home audio system... recommend this to EVERYONE who owns a zune and a home theatre system.

I would probably not have purchased this at full price, but I'm glad I did pick it up. I bought it to plug in to my home stereo, so I could listen to my mp3's on larger speakers. It works great. I probably won't use the video capabilities too much, but it's a nice option. If you are using the remote, it comes in handy to have the video output on your TV, otherwise you can't see what you are doing.

Well-made dock for the Zune that allows direct connection to a stereo receiver. The remote control is nice, but I can't see how it's really needed. It sits behind the Zune player in its own dock, out of the way, and won't get lost. So if you DO need or want to use it, it's right there handy. The dock is visually attractive, stable, and 'expensive looking'. For the price that buy.com is asking, it's a bargain, too.

<p>I have the Zune 80, and the V2 av kit. I can't believe I blew 100 on that. This works perfectly for 1/5th the cost. <p>To zune 80 owners. This works perfectly fine with the new 80. The 80 doesn't fit into it as it comes. All you need to do is remove the adapter plate and it'll mate up no problem. You will not have the component level video output with this adapter. You only get this on the newer AV kit. That being said, you do get your composite (Yellow, red, white) outputs and for most uses this is fine. <p>I'm thinking of ordering a few more for this price. That way I can mount one in the car, and have another for the office or maybe my den. These are just handy, and so much more elegant than plugging the cable into the Zune and then into the TV. Plus you get a remote! <p>The remote is great too. Who would have thought magnetizing a remote would be such a great idea.

I always like looking for ways to enjoy media with minimal power usage. Instead of turning on my cd/dvd player to play my music, I now just use my 30GB Zune. This allows me to integrate it into my home entertainment center and really get the sound out of it. It works exactly as expected and was a breeze to set up (wheels on the entertainment center helped with the breeziness). It hooks up to my XBox 360 which has pass through power for the USB ports and also allows me to listen to my own soundtracks while playing games. As others have said, the cables are pretty short. That is really the only weakness of this product. But, for my needs/setup, it works great.

I needed to replace my misplaced sync cable. For the cost of the sync cable alone (at retail outlets), I ordered this Microsoft Zune Home AV Kit. One caveat, read the Tech Specs for package contents. You receive one sync cable. The product image shows two.

the AV kit was brand new and well worth the money for the cradle alone. Now I don't have to have it hooked up to my computer to charge, or sync with the wireless remote. The av cables let me play a movie for everyone to see on a portable tv when on the road.

I love hooking this up to my receiver and having a remote for my Zune. If I were to make one complaint it would be having your remote recharhable, your Zune is recharable?

It took all of 10 minutes to connect right out of the box. It would have taken less if I didn't have a complicated home AV system. I have already loaded my entire music collection on it and am only using half of the 30GB available. I love the remote, and with the magnetic casing I can stick it to the fridge and keep it out of the children's hands.

I have 30 gb Zune (first gen?) and so far it works great with the kit, quite happy with it. The docking, the connection cable, and the remote are the coolest. Now I can watch my downloads while mobiling or connect it to TV. Yes, remote is awesome.

This unit is v1 and not compatible with v2 units avoid this like the plague if you have an 80GB Zune.

I have two of these and use them to dock my 30 GB zune to my stereo and my computer. It works great and I loved the remote. It is well built and comes with everything you need. The video might not look as good as the new model, which has component outputs, but if your like me and just want to play music, save your money and get this. It is the best bang for your buck.

I was amazed at how easy this product hooks up and is used to project video's on my television. The remote control is awesome to skip ahead and lower the volume or mute for phone calls. This product is well worth the money and is going in my bag when I travel so I can hook it up to televisions in my hotel rooms.

Simply put, if you own a Zune, this is a must purchase. The price alone warrants this. This AC adapter retails for $30 alone ! The docking base is great although if you have the 80GB Zune you have to (carefully) remove a nice looking insert. And best if all it can be be hooked up to a TV/Home theater for use without earbuds and has the always essential remote control. The video out does not look good on a large HD widescreen for movies, but the Zune wasn't meant to. FM tuning and MP3's only.

After reading many reviews, I decided to buy this version one kit for my 80G Zune. I popped the top off and CAREFULLY cut out just the inside edge(which kept the Zune from docking)with a utility knife. I bought this to work with an old integrated amp to send music to my outdoor speakers and I couldn't be more pleased! For less than the price of a good audio cable you get a charger and remote control. You can't beat this deal!

Great Product, Buy.com Shipping fast as always, but the remote broke after about a week of use. Still, as mentioned in other reviews, the ac adapter alone retails for 30 dollars, without the dock, extra sync cable, remote, and a/v cables. Apart from the remote, the dock works perfectly.

Although it is ultimately "my bad", as in if it does not say it is Version 2, then it is not. Overall, the product I received was in perfect condition, and exactly as advertised. The hardware is quality throughout. I was dissapointed that I am not able to use it for watching videos through it since I have a Zune 80 gb, and therefore need the V2 of the AV kit. I am able to use the audio features though (after removing the faceplate) Note; be VERRRY carefull if using a Zune 80, because it is a tight fit, but will go on if you are not ham handed. If you need a V1 kit, do not hesitate, and snap one up especially at this great price!!! You won't be sorry. "

I love this product. I've got mine hooked into the TV and sync wirelessly from there. The remote works great as well. Even if you won't be using this to hook to your TV You can use it as a dock for your PC. For less than the price of an AC charger in the stores ($29.99 Retail) you get the charger, Dock, AV Cables ($15.00 retail)and an extra sync cable ($15-20.00 Retail).

When I got this AV Kit I thought my remote wasn't working as I've read that it was a common problem from all the reviews here, but I've found a solution for it. You must plug in the AC adapter to the dock in order to use the remote control and get AV output. Simple enough...but it wasn't in the product guide so a lot of people have thought that you can use it without plugging it into an outlet first. Now that I've found this out...the kit works fabulously!! The remote is so convenient to have and it's got a magnetized back so you can easily stick it to something and not just have it lying around to be lost.

I bought this product for about $27 with shipping and it really enhances my Zunes capabilities. The remote feature is invaluable and it's so great to see my music videos on the tv screen..The price and quality were great. Now if only vista and zune software were as good as the hardware (sigh:-(

I am very happy with this product. I recommend this to other Zune buyers. It is much better than the FM radio based products, which tend to cut off the connections when driving.
