This unit is v1 and not compatible with v2 units avoid this like the plague if you have an 80GB Zune.

I have two of these and use them to dock my 30 GB zune to my stereo and my computer. It works great and I loved the remote. It is well built and comes with everything you need. The video might not look as good as the new model, which has component outputs, but if your like me and just want to play music, save your money and get this. It is the best bang for your buck.

I was amazed at how easy this product hooks up and is used to project video's on my television. The remote control is awesome to skip ahead and lower the volume or mute for phone calls. This product is well worth the money and is going in my bag when I travel so I can hook it up to televisions in my hotel rooms.

Simply put, if you own a Zune, this is a must purchase. The price alone warrants this. This AC adapter retails for $30 alone ! The docking base is great although if you have the 80GB Zune you have to (carefully) remove a nice looking insert. And best if all it can be be hooked up to a TV/Home theater for use without earbuds and has the always essential remote control. The video out does not look good on a large HD widescreen for movies, but the Zune wasn't meant to. FM tuning and MP3's only.

After reading many reviews, I decided to buy this version one kit for my 80G Zune. I popped the top off and CAREFULLY cut out just the inside edge(which kept the Zune from docking)with a utility knife. I bought this to work with an old integrated amp to send music to my outdoor speakers and I couldn't be more pleased! For less than the price of a good audio cable you get a charger and remote control. You can't beat this deal!

Great Product, Buy.com Shipping fast as always, but the remote broke after about a week of use. Still, as mentioned in other reviews, the ac adapter alone retails for 30 dollars, without the dock, extra sync cable, remote, and a/v cables. Apart from the remote, the dock works perfectly.

Although it is ultimately "my bad", as in if it does not say it is Version 2, then it is not. Overall, the product I received was in perfect condition, and exactly as advertised. The hardware is quality throughout. I was dissapointed that I am not able to use it for watching videos through it since I have a Zune 80 gb, and therefore need the V2 of the AV kit. I am able to use the audio features though (after removing the faceplate) Note; be VERRRY carefull if using a Zune 80, because it is a tight fit, but will go on if you are not ham handed. If you need a V1 kit, do not hesitate, and snap one up especially at this great price!!! You won't be sorry. "

I love this product. I've got mine hooked into the TV and sync wirelessly from there. The remote works great as well. Even if you won't be using this to hook to your TV You can use it as a dock for your PC. For less than the price of an AC charger in the stores ($29.99 Retail) you get the charger, Dock, AV Cables ($15.00 retail)and an extra sync cable ($15-20.00 Retail).

Its great, listen to music while charging, and the remote is awesome. I have not tried to hook it up to my tv yet but Im sure ill be impressed when I do.. Hands down the best piece of hardware you will buy for your zune.

When I got this AV Kit I thought my remote wasn't working as I've read that it was a common problem from all the reviews here, but I've found a solution for it. You must plug in the AC adapter to the dock in order to use the remote control and get AV output. Simple enough...but it wasn't in the product guide so a lot of people have thought that you can use it without plugging it into an outlet first. Now that I've found this out...the kit works fabulously!! The remote is so convenient to have and it's got a magnetized back so you can easily stick it to something and not just have it lying around to be lost.

My wife and I both have Zunes, so this is very convenient for charging when one is already plugged into the computer. Also, it's great for plugging in to our AV receiver for play through our home stereo system.

I bought this product for about $27 with shipping and it really enhances my Zunes capabilities. The remote feature is invaluable and it's so great to see my music videos on the tv screen..The price and quality were great. Now if only vista and zune software were as good as the hardware (sigh:-(

I am very happy with this product. I recommend this to other Zune buyers. It is much better than the FM radio based products, which tend to cut off the connections when driving.

I am very happy with the kit that I bought for my Zune. It works very well and I have had no problems with it. I listen to my Zune even more now that I have a docking station for it. I also love the wall charger because I never run out of batteries! It is such an affordable way so get more use out of your Zune.

$20 bucks for all of this is very nice. I was a little worried that the battery in the remote would be dead based on some of the previous reviews, but it worked as advertised. The remote only works when the cradle is powered by the usb cable. I wish it wasn't like that but then there would probably be another battery to replace or another power cord to deal with. Overall it's a great accessory for your Zune.

I definitely got my bang for my buck! I hooked my 8GB to my surround sound. Love it. The only reason I rated ease of use and perfomance a 4 is because I cannot get the remote to work. Other than that, it's a great product.

This was a perfect combination to my purchase of the Zune 30GB MP3 player. The dock sits near our home entertainment center and I can easily play music, videos and pictures to all our devices. Good purchase at a reasonable price

With the new Wireless Sync, and Windows Vista Ultimate, I can automatically drop new TV show's (commerical free thanks to Life Extender) to the kids's Zunes while they sleep. They can then watch the shows or listen to their music in their rooms and on their TV. It's also now my favorite ways to store their kids movies. Rent from Netflicks, rip it to Vista, automatically synch it to the Zune's. With this method, my kids think their cool, but I get to control 100% of what they watch. Also for the HD stuff I stream to the XBox360 hooked up to the family big screen. I feel like I finally have a digital home. Thanks ZUNE.

Everything works great, even the battery in the remote worked. I used a razor knife and cut out a small piece of the chrome cover just behind the port and now my 80GB Zune fits right in with the cover on. Only took me about five minutes to modify.

I was absolutely shocked to find this product on here 75% lower than I'd seen it anywhere else. I've wanted the AV Kit for a while, but couldn't justify dropping $100 on it. The dock works great, looks great on my entertainment center and easily hooked up to my receiver. And it charges my Zune 30 all the while! Great product!

This 1st generation dock will work with a 2nd generation Zune 80 after an easy mod. You can google for directions. The remote this dock uses has a magnet inside so you can place it like a refrigerator magnet. The new remote is flimsy and does not have the magnet. So if you want to save some bucks......

This dock works great with both my 80g and 30g Zune's. You just have to take the face plact off to use the 80g. It is very easy to do by pushing a button. Very happy with my purchase. They are so affordable I bought 4 for every tv in the house.

I was looking for a solution for my office desk. I had been using a AC adaptor with an 1/8" cable to my micro system but had no way to prop up the Zune so that I could see the display. I also didn't have a quick way to pause playback when I would get a call. This solved both of these issues. I also like the feel and function of the remote. It is very much like the controls on the Zune. It has a great tactile feel and is solid.

comes with some good stuff -- but you might want to buy some couplings and an extra comoposite cable to extend the cable. YES it does work for 2nd generation zune 4/8 gig for Audio only. will need the 80 gig for video output. Also i think microsoft will send you a new plate for the 8 gb zune if you request it via customer service zune.net. my first package came with a bad controller, (i thought it was a compatability issue, lucky buy.com replaced it and it works fine now).

I bought this for my 80GB Zune after finding out that it would fit the 80GB after taking off the faceplate. It is simple to remove the faceplate- the included "start" booklet point you towards a release button and state how this was made with the intention of producing new faceplates for later models. It is a shame they did not. However, it holds the 80GB quite snug (you can hold the base and turn it upside down with no worries)...the included remote is loose but that will not be much of an issue. The remote works well and I can tell I will be getting a lot of use of it. If you have an auxiliary input on your stereo, I would advise plugging your cord in through the base (where the a/v goes) instead of through the headphone jack just to make it more plug and play-ish. Very cool product and look forward to ordering from Buy.com soon!

I was surprised at the quality level of this kit, every piece is manufactured well and is solidly built. The dock does work with the Zune 80, to get the top cover off so it fits, all you have to do is press the tab in the smaller slot where the remote sits and the cover pops right off. The fit for the Zune 80 is a little snug, but works fine. The TV out works fine, but the video quality is sub-par because of the resolution restriction on the Zune itself. Audio out is good quality and the remote has volume up/down which is convenient. The remote I got had a minor issue with the down button not working at first, but after trying it for a while it seems to have broken-in and works okay now. All in all a great buy, especially at 80% off retail!

I was looking for a way to listen to my Zune through the surround system and this has worked great. I took out the insert on the base and it fit my 80 gig device without a problem. I couldn't touch this for three times what I paid for it in this area. You won't be disappointed.

I love this stuff....after i got my zune...i used it for a while then it was jus lyin around...hated the fact that i had to switch on the laptop to charge my zune...but now i use it everyday!!...makes the usage more comfortable...only one small glitch i see is that the remote need really gud line of sight to work well..but tats fine same with most remotes...still it makes an awesome product!!..also the built quality is excellent!!...definitely recommend it!

can;t go wrong here, product does what it says. must remove face plate to fit in the 80G Zune, makes it look odd but nobody cares. you might be dissapointed in the video quality from the Zune to a television, severely reduced quality, but it puts the picture on the tv like it says...

I love this dock. I connected it to my 5.1 Onkyo and listen to songs. Also with the remote i can pause it which eventually power it down. Video quality is not so good since it is from Zune, but other than that it is a must for Zune

Great sound quality and decent video playback. I am currently using it through a Yamaha 12 channel mixer amp and a BenQ projector. The video quality is ok at 640x480 (probably fine for a tv but not amazing on a projector), but that is a limitation of the 1st gen zune, not the dock. The sound is great, and the dock is a must because sound output from the zune is very low unless it is running on ac power. The only minor caveats with the dock are that you can't keep the zune in its case to use with the dock (if fits too snug), so make sure you have a case that's easily removable. The remote stores in the dock, but does not charge, and my remote shipped with a dead battery. This dock has been a great alternative to have background music playing quickly and effortlessly, without having to tie up a pc to run through the sound system (and inevitably have to put up with Windows sounds from an errant mouse click).

At first the remote did not work. i tried putting in a new battery and still did not work. there is a metal prong that holds the battery and i bent that up and then placed the battery back in and it started working again. The remote's texture does not seem to handle wear and tear to well but other than that the product works really well

for the price this is an excellent deal. the dock looks great with my zune setting in it. the cables are nice, wish they were a little longer. The only thing that i had wrong was that the volume on my remote didnt work.

We bought these for our children to use with their Zunes. They unpacked the box themselves and set everything up on their smaller telivision sets (20 inch). The picture was supprisingly well and they are able to watch the movies we downloaded on the TV now. The picture quality on the movies became distorted on the larger TV's, but the other stuff looked great!

How could you not buy this for $27 after shipping? I bought an 8 GB 2nd Gen Zune and I had to purchase this. Yes, there is a newer AV kit on the Zune website, but this can adjust for the 2nd Gen players. It was somewhat difficult to pop off the plastic cover so that an 80 GB player could fit, but it could be done. This remote is insanely nice but it is just worth the extra USB cable which can convert to an AC adapter with the included plug - that was pretty cool. Overall, it was a nice steal for the new player.

I was shopping online for a wall charger when I bumped into this deal. For $30 why not get the whole deal. Shipment arrived on time. I have a 80GB 2nd Generation Zune. All you need is to poke the plate off the top and it will fit your Zune perfectly. 5/5 from me.

Let me give it to you straight; this product is a must have for the Zune. I use it all the time in my home. It allows me to charge my Zune without having to turn on my PC and that is a big advantage for me. Also, being able to enjoy music through my surround sound system is the best! If you are not too good with electronics this product may give you a little trouble but, it shouldn't be too much for you to handle. My only complaint is the screen resolution is very poor when you try to view a video off of the Zune to your TV, but I know the reasons behind this problem and it is understandable. In short...buy this product you will like it alot!
