4 of 5 FM transmitter Monday, August 04, 2008 A Customer from Port Angeles, WA
Car charger works great, but the FM transmitter is a little weak. When you use the FM transmitter KEEP your head phones plugged into the Zunes head phone jack! The head phones act as an antenna and will take out most of the static. Also, to begin with, instead of finding a station on the radio that is clear, TRY using a radio station that has nothing but static and fuzz on it. For me, it works better that way. 5 of 5 Good option if you don't have an aux jack Sunday, May 25, 2008 A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
I wanted to listen to my Zune in the car, and had no auxiliary jack on my stereo, so this was the next best thing. Like all FM transmitters, it works better away from a big city, but I still found a couple stations that sounded great. This one is perfect for your Zune, no extra cords or any mess. 5 of 5 Microsoft Zune Car Kit - 9DP-00002 Saturday, May 03, 2008 A Customer from Nashvegas, TN
Many bad reviews of this product. However, the radio transmitter seemed to work fine when tested. I purchased primarily for the car charger. This product was only selling for around $20 when I bought. I would probably look at the new version of this product if I was considering this product at its current price. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 zune charger Friday, April 25, 2008 A Customer from kissimmee, florida
like a car charger is good, but the fm transmiter don have to much power to sen a clear signal, only if you plug the charger with the fm transmiter you can receive a regular signal, buy it only for the charger Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great if you add an antenna Sunday, April 20, 2008 Jeremyl04 from Simi Valley, CA
It's a pretty cheap product stock, the internal antenna kind of sucks and you get a lot of static. If you open it up and just attach some 22ga wire to the antenna inside, drill a hole in the box, and thread it out it works amazing. I hardly get any static and it's very clear. 1 of 5 Disappointed in reception Saturday, April 12, 2008 A Customer from Neptune, NJ
I purchased the product based on some good reviews of it. However, I was extremely disappointed in the product. I tried different frequencies in two different vehicles and the reception was awful. More than half of the time, it didn't work. The other times, the static was a constant background noise...and if you increased the volume, the static was even more noticeable. Also, I had to hold the unit for the reception to come in a little bit better. In short, I'm returning it. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not worth the money for FM. Wednesday, April 09, 2008 A Customer from houston, texas
If you want a FM modulator that works good then buy something else. If you want a car charger for your Zune, it works fine. I had a hard time finding a station that wasnt just a bunch of static. I finally found one and it will kinda go in/out like an AM station will. With the Zune sitting on the seat in the same place it drifts sometimes. Im sure there are limits from the government on how much power this thing can use to put out a FM signal, but to be blunt, I dont care if I broadcast 6 more feet out of my car. I just want my OWN radio to work. They should have used more power and allowed it to give a better signal. Even with the car off it is hard to find a dead on spot on. Like I said, buy it because its a car charger not because its a FM modulator. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works as expected Saturday, March 29, 2008 A Customer from Arkansas
If you want crystal clear sound then this is not the way to go. If you want a quick and easy way to use your Zune in your car then you can't beat the price for this. Plus for the price you get a car charger if nothing else, and its true Zune product and not a knock off brand. I've looked at this set in stores and have never found it less than $99.00. I think it works pretty good for something that goes through your FM radio. True it does get a little static every once in a while, thats when you go to the next station and it gets better. Overall I don't regret buying it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent for the price Sunday, March 02, 2008 Greg from St. Peters, MO
I have always heard that these things just don't work. Not true! My Microsoft Zune Car Kit is great. Sure, it has faded once or twice but that's not a problem. It sure beats swapping CD's. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for the price, you just have to have a decent Thursday, February 07, 2008 A Customer from Santa Ana CA
I bought this item because it was one word CHEAP, and after playing with it i found that will work with my truck's newer radio and not my other cars radio ( basic cassette am/fm stereo). My truck has a different stereo and it seems quite compatible with this device. I live in a major city and I had no problem listening to my zune, even on a station that has service! LA for example try 89.5 fm , that is currently an active station and I can still listen to my zune on it with minor if any static. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Hack it! Tuesday, January 29, 2008 A Customer from BC
I was extremely disappointed with the out of the box performance of this unit. It couldn't transmit clearly within my car from the front seat where I had it sitting to the antenna on the rear quarter panel of the car.
Fortunately a clever fella has detailed instructions on how to mod the antenna to boost the range at http://www.zunemods.net/cms_view_article.php?aid=13 This worked GREAT for me, and made me a happy camper. I highly recommend drilling the hole as he did and letting your extra "antenna" dangle out of the box. I packaged it all up "neat" but reduced my wicked range down to barely adequate for the car again :)
No problems with the automatic freq finder here... there are only 4 FM stations in my area anyway :) I really don't like the curly power cable, though, it keeps trying to drag my zune off the seat and onto the floor. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Unusable because of poor reception Monday, January 28, 2008 Scott Mauvais from Pacifica, CA
I tried this in two of our cars and found it unusable in both of them because the reception is so poor. After searching though the entire dial, occasionally Im able to find a station where it is actually listenable. Sadly, it drifts within two to three minutesdid I mention it was unusable yet?
In one of the cars I have a after-market CD player that uses FM to transmit to the radio and it works perfectly so I know its a transmission problem because there is nothing wrong with reception on my end.
The only reason I gave this two stars rather than one is because it does charge the Zune as advertized. So, if you need a car charger, this isnt a bad deal.just dont get it if you actually plan to listen to your player.

2 of 5 Bad Product Wednesday, January 23, 2008 A Customer from Kent, Ohio
I am suprised Microsoft would put out such a bad product. Like others say the transmitter does not hold a good connection. There is always STATIC! Do not buy if you want a sharp sound. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 good price Sunday, January 20, 2008 A Customer from carlsbad, ca
This was by far the best price online. The challenge is finding a radio station that is open when living in a metropolitan area. We constantly have to find different stations while driving around San Diego. But I will be canceling my XM Music account now. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 worthless? Wednesday, January 16, 2008 Lance from Sandy, UT

4 of 5 Worth $24.95 ... not worth much more! Tuesday, January 15, 2008 A Customer from Colorado
Inspite of the warnings, I got this Zune Car Adaptor. I figured how bad could it be for under $25. I have to say it's VERY sensitive to how your radio is grounded in your car. It uses the power adaptor as a means of sending the signal to the radio. When you disconnect the A/C adaptor, the signal strength does WAY down and is frankly unusable. It's sensitive to the station you select too. For me, it does work, sometimes it's scratchy, but that's due to station interference. My car - a VW Touareg - didn't have factor options for a AUX input. I wish it did. I suspect it would be far superior. But as said ... for $24.95 it's worth it. Also - I have the 30GB Zune player. Not sure if it works with the models. I personally like the genuine MS Zune products. They are built better than the aftermarket items. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Do not buy - it is not worth it - to much static Monday, January 14, 2008 A Customer from Lithonia, GA
This is the 2nd Zune car adapter that I have purchased. The sound is horrible and is over run by static. They do not have it together when it comes to listening to the Zune in the car. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 This product is terrible Wednesday, January 09, 2008 A Customer from Seattle
I have a chance to use the new version of the zune car kit and it works very good compare to this first gen. The signal is really weak and it gets scrambled with near by objects. I had to go thru a lot of stations to see which performed the best. Also I have to position the zune in a specific spot in the car so I can listen. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Not worth it. Tuesday, January 08, 2008 A Customer from Michigan
The charger works fine. I can't get the FM tuner to work with my radio. All I get is static, which seems to be a common complaint about this product. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Get it for the charger Monday, January 07, 2008 HvyHitter from Cleveland Ohio
At the price it is on sale its good for the charger. The FM modulator has an excellent range of channels. But.. every channel i tried it on has noise or some kind of static. Its not powerful enough to get the job done. I returned mine. I found another brand that was generic but worked perfectly. Thats the think with FM modulators some are better than theres. The one I got was 24 dollars so just because it is expensive does NOT mean it is a good FM modulator. Case and point is this product. Great charger.. VERY Poor FM modulator. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not a good product Monday, January 07, 2008 BJ from Woodbury
The songs are not well transmitted to the car stereo. Moreover, there is no such sync cable provided along with this item. As a whole get a good transmitter and plug it in your zune. Monster has an excellent car kit for zune.it rocks Was this review helpful?
4 of 4 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Good product, just misleading Monday, December 31, 2007 A Customer from Atlanta, Ga
This is another good product for the Zune player. However, be advised the photo shows a sync cable. There will not be a sync cable in the box for this prodcut. There is no way to use a sync cable with the charger. A sync cable will plug into the bottom of the transmitter, but what good is that if you are in your vehicle. Where are you going to plug the USB end? The car charger plugs directly into the Zune. If you use the Transmistter, plug the transmitter directly into the bottom of the Zune and then plug the car charger directly into the bottom of the Transmitter. Was this review helpful?
