5 of 5 Great value Friday, January 25, 2008
A Customer from Dallas, TX

My only problem so far was with the install. I started with two new hard disks that had not been formatted. There is a separate disk to use prior to installing WHS (Windows Home Server) that I failed to use. Once I got the disks formatted, things went OK. I had a SCSI card that it did not like and had to start over with the install. It will take two disks hooked up IDE and and creates a RAID 0 configuration. I haven't made a complete survey, but it looks to me like this is Windows Small Business Server with a user friendly front end. You are warned to only use the interface on one of the client computers to manage the server. Good advice for anyone who has no experience with server software. If you want only shared folders with no subdirectories, you are ready to go out of the box. You can create user accounts and shares with the front end software. I have a MacBook in my network, and it works just like with other Windows server software.

5 of 5 Great to Keep Files and Music Friday, January 18, 2008
A Customer from Peoria, IL
So far no problems. The key is to configure the Remote Access for PCs and Usernames. Backup is great and being able to access this information from multiple PCs is the best. Don't be afraid of it but make sure that you follow the directions and subscribe to the WHS newsgroups.

5 of 5 Windows Home Server is excellent Friday, November 30, 2007
A Customer from Farmington, NM
Installed this RTM version on my Dell home server to replace the Beta version I had been testing. Windows Home Server (WHS) works well and is very easy to setup. My only complaint is that the backup process is a little slow.

Here are 6 reasons i like WHS OEM 1. fault tolerant backups all computers on Network 2. Works as file server and makes duplicate copies of selected folders 3. 3rd party addins add many many features like media center integration 4. Can be used of older equipment giving life to that pc you left in closet since upgrading. Just add extra hard drives. 5. Adds simplified webserver for sharing photos 6. Can remotely access all computer on network (almost all)
