5 of 5 Streets & Trips Sunday, February 01, 2009 Jim from Yukon, OK
I received my Microsoft Streets & Trips in good shape and in about 10 days. Every thing was just as I expected.

I travel often, and have purchased and used many map software products over the last 5 years. S&T has been about the best for me. The price is OK, the maps are accurate and mostly up to date, and ease of use is better than the others.
If you use a GPS receiver, the program does a great job of giving you live driving directions, especially since they added in a new feature that would resize the map to show exactly the detail you need along the way.
This year's version is little changed from the last, other than the newer maps, a more 'modern' look, and an improved usage of the pointer. Now you can use the left and right mouse buttons to switch between drag and resize, instead of changing cursor modes as it was in the past. A small change, but rather handy.
Negatives: I wish they'd offer map updates for $10 for existing users, rather than needing to buy a whole new program. Secondly, while their routing is better than the others, when you try to modify the route, often it seems like a tug of war to get the alternate routing to work out. Also, it would be great if they could work out the intelligence that if a road changes names along the way that they could 'simplify' the directions by grouping the 3 or 4 road segments and their lengths into 1 overall segment and total distance. Lastly, it does take some time to figure out the features you want to use, and some others may remain unknown to you, since the user inteface is a bit less intuitive than you could hope for. All of these complaints are minor, but give an idea of what it's like.
Overall, if you need mapping software, this is probably the one to choose. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good product Monday, December 01, 2008 A Customer from Leesburg, FL
I've been using the product for nearly 3 years, so the 2009 version is an upgrade. It has good enhancements over the last version and finally has my home street included. I am very happy with Streets and Trips: we've traveled several thousand miles in our RV using it along with its GPS locator. Thumbs up! Was this review helpful?
