4 of 5 An overall good Mapping Program Sunday, October 16, 2005 kenkarworks from Gretna, Louisiana
I found this to be a very good Map Program, it's ease of use is very good. You can zoom in on an object very quickly, which is very good if you are using a laptop and on the road. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of what road you are looking at, if you point to a paticular area on the road and want to find out what block it is showing(doesn't show address information). But the GPS works very well, and rotates in the direction you are going. Also a trail of where you have been can be turned on. It contains a POI(Points Of Intrest)feature which you can find things you want with in a certain distance from you, like resturants, hotels, motels, car shops, and sites of interest. It also has information about zipcodes and business phone numbers(if you need to call). General map features are very good, and you can move very quickly if you desire, or move slowly if you want. The GPS works excellent, for laptop users. It even has route features to tell you where you are, and how to get there(nice if you are lost). You can make a route and it will direct you to it, with detailed information on how to get there. It has a lot of nice features. Overall it is a very good program, with just about all of the features you will ever need to use. The best parts are the quick zooming and the excellent GPS features. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Product.... Saturday, July 02, 2005 GFV from Endwell, New York
I bought a portable GPS (Hawkeye by Fine Digital) for $400. what a piece of junk it is! Half the areas I travel are not mapped.
So I thought I would try this...and I am very happy with it.
It gets me wherever I want to go...within about 20 feet on
average. The routing feature is exactly what I needed, being that I make many stops during my travels.
Its well worth the price and very easy to use.
Often I have my laptop with me, so mapping new routes is a snap.

5 of 5 Make your laptop a GPS Friday, June 24, 2005 Steve from Richmond, Va.
I have a Garmin Emap. I have used this unit for travel but the small screen made it hard to see where you were or where you were going. The Emap unit works great for fishing where detail is not really important, but when it comes to travel Streets and Trips 2005 GPS is the product you need. I attached and acquired the GPS receiver and once the unit found the satellites I was off and running. The base map is very current (at least for my area). If you are use to working with laptops and any type of mapping software then you will find this software and GPS easy to use and a great tool for travel Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Awful directions Tuesday, April 26, 2005 A Customer from York, PA
The directions will get you lost every time! Instead of telling you to take exit 3 and turn left onto route 6 south you get bear right off ramp on route and go 50 yards and bear left onto route 33 go 43 yards and bear ..... You get the point. Instead they give you every other route number under the sun that intersects and it takes reading it two or three times to narrow it down to the simple - route 6 south. When a route was programmed in there was no way to change it. Everything was blocked out so if you got off your route we have yet to be able to figrue out how to get back on the route. We were lost so much that I would never use this over a standard map. Was this review helpful?
