4 of 5 Half good. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 Don from West PLains, MO
MY transceiver doesn't work so I have to use the bluetooth which works well. The lack of clicks with the center or middle wheel is inconvenient for me. The battery is a AAA. Because mine doesn't charge because of the dud transceiver I wish this used AA. Anyway, it does make a good bluetooth mouse. Other reviewers have glowed about this mouse so maybe you'll get one like theirs. Good Luck! Was this review helpful?

This mouse is fantastic. There are three ways to connect the Microsfot Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 to your laptop, PC, or Mac: 2.4GHz USB, direct connect USB, or Bluetooth. It comes with an Energizer rechargeable battery and can be easily recharged whenever the power is low by connecting the provided cable onto the USB dongle. Also included is a carrying case that fits the USB, cable, as well as the mouse for easy transportation. Connecting the mouse for the first time via any of the three forms takes, at max, a couple of minutes, and reconnecting will take only a few seconds (Longest connection is setting up the Bluetooth to connect for the first time). The only downside to this mouse is that it is a bit too small. It would fit a child's or a small female/male's hand perfectly. Trust me when I say that it may be too small for the average users out there because I am already below average height (5'4") and my hands are proportionate to my body size. If you do not mind the smaller size, though, then it would be a great addition or even start to the accessories for your laptop, MacBook, or Netbook. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works well Saturday, March 28, 2009 A Customer from Jersey City, NJ
I bought this to use with my laptop at home. Have vista - works pretty well. no issues so far. The 2 xtra buttons and vista window scroll features are nice but haven't found any real use for them - they are just fancy. Not so ergonomic as it looks in the picture. The mouse is smaller than i expected even for my small hand. While it is small it is little bulged in the center so cannot be packed easily in a laptop bag like the kensington mouse. Would have been good if the transciever also fitted with the mouse. Atleast the carryig case should have had provision for the transceiver and the charging cable. Good thing is if your computer has bluetooth inbuilt - it can work without the long projecting transceiver also. Though a chargeable battery is provided - should work with regular AAA dry cell. Since i use it at home only so works fine for me. Was this review helpful?

Nothing is perfect. This Microsoft mouse is easy to use. I use it to replace a Microsoft wireless mouse on my desktop system. I find it a bit too small for my hand. But my wife loves it. Battery life is a little short, I do not turn it off after I shut-down the PC. Battery lasts only for 5 to 6 days.
I prefer the mouse to have a higher sensitivity. But I do not do graphics work, so a few cursor re-positioning generally does the trick.
Recharging is VERY VERY slow... possibly my USB connection is daisy-chained, not directly connected to the motherboard. Battery removal is awkward. I ended up inserting a short length of ribbon to the battery compartment before inserting the battery.
I know, this mouse is meant for laptop use. Some of the above comments above do not apply. I am willing to accept its short-comings, as I do not want to have a regular desktop wireless mouse with a HUGE transmitter on my desk.
Besides, price is very good. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good value Sunday, March 22, 2009 A Customer from Jersey City, NJ
I saw my friend who has one and he recommended to me. So I ordered one for my wife. The mouse size is a bit small to me but my wife finds no difficulty using it because of her smaller hands.
As I expected from Buy.com service, the ordering process was good and the item arrived within 3 days.
I charged up the mouse for first time use and it only took me about 3 hours. Plugged into three different computers and it just worked. The touch feels good, the buttons response nicely and the mouse movement is very responsive, no jerky actions (at least in RF mode). And my wife likes the size too, very nice. (Trust me, my wife is very picky and if she says it's good, it must be). I downloaded the latest driver from Microsoft and installed on my wife's main machine. Everything works great. The additional features that come with the driver are nice touch. I don't use the thumb drive so I can't comment on that. To my wife it's rather useless because she has a 16G one.
Enough for the upside. My wife and my friend both encounter one problem. If the mouse is in charging mode (connecting the mouse with the charging wire), the mouse may stop working and you need to turn off-and-on to make it work again. Sometimes you need to do many time which is very annoying. My wife finds out that the problem seems go away if you turn off the mouse while charging it.
In conclusion, we like the mouse and if you don't mind the glitch, it is a good buy. Was this review helpful?
