5 of 5 Great Packaging! Wednesday, October 28, 2009 A Customer from Tacoma, WA
A blister pack that you don't need power tools to open. Two quick snips through the scissor holes then run your finger around the perforations. Viola! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Jon from Charlotte, NC
The Good:
Excellent size - fits my hand well
Easy Bluetooth connection
Thumb button to go back on web pages
Battery life has been very good - I have not yet needed to replace them (exceeded my expectations)
The price was right
The Bad:
I've had to re-establish the connection a several times over the first three weeks that I've owned it
The Ugly:
The strap that you pull on to assist with battery removal is a little short and it's difficult to get my fingers on - Note: I have large hands and this may not be a problem for most people Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good price, convenient Saturday, April 18, 2009 frr from Oregon
Small, easy to carry around, no dongle. I have never had any dropped or laggy connection issues with this mouse. The only regret I have is not buying it sooner. Even comes with a nice little carry case. (Im using this with a Lenovo Thinkpad X300 which has built in bluetooth capability) Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 it's ok... Wednesday, April 01, 2009 A Customer from Hackensack, NJ
maybe my setup went a bit wrong, but I don't see anyone complaining about dropped connection. it works great when it's actively used, but it simply drops the connection sometimes and takes minutes to be reactivated. I just disable/enable it when this happens; quicker that way. Overall, it's ok. Was this review helpful?

Overall this mouse works great and I recommend it. But I have it connected to my 24" iMac and it does take about 3 seconds (which seems long) before the mouse starts moving after going to sleep. I'm not sure if it's the mouse or the iMac since this is my first bluetooth mouse. Was this review helpful?

This bluetooth mouse was cheaper than anywhere else with free shipping when I got it. Works on my XPS laptop with built-in bluetooth since I ran out of USB ports. The setup was relatively easy. Mouse response is smooth, but its scrolling wheel feels loose with quite a loud ticking. ON/OFF switch to save battery (needs 2 x AAA) is an excellent feature though the tiny switch is difficult to toggle. Not sure what the side button does, or if it is programable. All in all, this is my first bluetooth mouse, and I am quite happy with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 NO More Cords: NO MORE PLUGS! Tuesday, March 31, 2009 M. Bell from Northville, MI
I purchased the Bluetooth Mouse for my Netbook. The purpose was to elemenate the mouse cord or the USB plug hanging out the side of the computer. The 5000 was EASY to pair with my Netbook, the sensitivity of the mouse is more than adequate for my application, and the best part is the mouse will go in standby mode if the computer is not being used (or out of range). This is a nice feature so the battery life is extended as opposed to the old fashion wireless mouse. It is small for travel purposes as well. In all, the product and dealings with Buy.com --- I would repeat in a moment. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good price, great product - This is my second Tuesday, March 31, 2009 A Customer from Lowell, MA
I had tried other wireless mice and heard good things about BT. Bought my first one at a store, on sale. I liked it so much I took it to work for my notebook there, and bought another for home. Smooth, accurate operation, and great battery life. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great mouse and it doesn't tie up a usb port Saturday, March 28, 2009 John from Stevenson, WA
I was kind of surprised to have to go to a Microsoft product for my MacBook Pro, but it works great. It doesn't tie up a usb port. It fits my needs exactly and doesn't have all of the wasted buttons and do dads that I never use. Set up took less than a minute.
Amazing Apple doesn't make one like this. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good deal and excellent product Monday, March 16, 2009 Ravi from MN
Setting up and using the mouse after pairing just took 1 min,so smooth and easy, very light weight even with 2 AAA batteries.Sometimes the mouse pointer moves like a pin ball game but after right clicking it gets set by itself, dont know if it is because of drivers or else the mouse itself. Still need to get used to it. The carry case is very good.Buy.com shipped on 11th got it on 12th thanks customer support for making fast shipment. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 - 69R-0000 Friday, March 13, 2009 A Customer from RANDOLPH, NJ
THIS PRODUCT WORKS GREAT WITH HP TX 1320US WITH VISTA HOME PREMIUM. IT USES 2 AAA BATTERIES. IT IS EASY TO INSTALL, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PAIR IT WITH YOUR BLUETOOTH CAPABLE COMPUTER WITH NO SECURITY PASSWORD. MAKE SURE TO SWITCH THE POWER ON AND PRESS THE BLUTOOTH PAIRING BUTTON LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE MOUSE AND THAT'S IT. ONCE PAIRED UP, NOW YOU CAN WORK WIRELESSLY AND WITHOUT ANY OTHER WIRELESS RECEIVER DEVICE TAKING SPACE ON YOUR USB PORTS (THAT'S IF YOU HAVE A BUILT IN BLUETOOTH). THANKS, AND GOD BLESS Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Banging Performance and Price Wednesday, March 04, 2009 Rusty from Leawood, KS
Saw this at other stores for 54+. Even with shipping this is a good deal. Up and running in seconds (no paring errors). Excellent performance on a variety of surfaces, feels good, the carrying case is a plus, very nice response and tactile feedback when clicking. Bluetooth is the way to go and this mouse even at higher prices is worth it!

Does what it is intended to. Small in size but no more difficult to use than a normal sized mouse. Light, comes with case, uses two AAA batteries and doesn't seem to drain them quickly. Easy to pair, and can be paired with more than one device. I use it with my MacBook and have it paired with OSX and also Windows XP so i can use it with either OS. No drivers needed. If you're working on excel files and using that right click it will help your speed over using the touchpad. Scroll wheel could be a little smoother i guess if i were being fussy. There are probably better mouses out there if you're looking for a main mouse, but this complements my MacBook very nicely. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Miscrosoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse Monday, August 18, 2008 A Customer from Fredericksburg VA
Great size, knowing it was going to be small. Had to force a bluetooth scan and discovery worked fine. Once in a while the scroll wheel seems to have a slight catch but not big deal. Nice surprise, it has a back button I didn't know I was getting. I'm not a gamer and read the reviews before hand. I just wanted wireless to not use the laptop pad. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product! Monday, May 05, 2008 Stuart Hill from Deming, NM
The mouse has a good feel and works well. Use the BEST batteries you can find because if you forget to turn it off (after use), you will use more batteries than the standard wireless mouse. The bluetooth was fairly easy to set up, even using a USB Bluetooth adapter. Great freedom for the traveler. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A Good Notebook Mouse Tuesday, April 15, 2008 Sijuinin from Hamden, CT
The Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is a great mouse. Installing the mouse is the easiest part as it does not require you to connect any dongle or install a driver software. It is recognised as just any other bluetooth device, and once recognised you are ready to go. The mouse has a vary long range and is really easy to carry around.
The battery life is also good and would last longer if you turn off the power switch on the mouse when not in use.
The only drawback is that it cannot be used as a high precision gaming mouse, and has very basic functionalty buttons. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Mouse. Easy to use and set-up. Sunday, March 30, 2008 A Customer from Phoenix, AZ

5 of 5 great mouse... Wednesday, March 19, 2008 MD_MK from Denver, CO
Just received it today. Was so eager to open it and tried it for the first time. This mouse is so much better than any other wireless I'd ever used. First of all, it's much lighter than the other. It pairs up with my laptop quickly and boom, that's it! Just unplugged the wired mouse and tried it out. It's quiet and comfortable. Great mouse! Recommend! Was this review helpful?

3 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Unsatisfied with this little guy... Friday, February 01, 2008 A Customer from Fort Worth, TX
I bought this mouse to use on my new Dell Laptop that has internal Bluetooth connectivity. It linked right up with no problems and I was using it within minutes of taking it out of the packaging. Not having to use an annoying dongle was nice.
Immediatley I realized it would take some getting used to the small size of it but I knew ahead of time it was on the smaller side of portable mice.
The downfall of my pleasantries with this mouse came about when I needed to alt-tab out of a game or another application to the desktop. It would pause for a second and then move as normal but with less funcitonality. The scrolling button did not work and the additional side button did not function anymore as well.
The only way to get these back to working was to remove it from the bluetooth adapters and have it resync back up. This has become very annoying and has hapenned to me many times.
The other major downfall currently is that there is no support from Microsoft yet with Intellipoint software. This essentially means that you cannot remap what the side button does like you can for 99% of all of the other Microsoft mice out there.
If you are like me and drop about $40 on a mouse I do not want to have any hesitancies or issues with it. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 A Very Nice Mouse Wednesday, January 09, 2008 A Customer from Iowa City, Iowa
I recently bought this mouse to use with my new Sony Vaio SZ-series laptop, which comes equipped with Bluetooth. It is very easy to get connected and use, and it works very well. For some reason, I do not get the usual bluetooth lag to get the mouse to reconnect after being idle for a time. Whether a feature of the bluetooth unit in the laptop or the mouse, or a combination, there is no lag when I begin to use the mouse after a period of idleness, even when coming back from a sleep session. Also, when I turn on the computer, the mouse can be used as soon as the login screen appears. Another nice feature is the switch on the bottom of the mouse to turn it off when not in use, conserving the batteries. The mouse come with a little neoprene pouch, which is very nice for storage and transporting.
I'm very happy with this mouse and would recommend it. Was this review helpful?
