I bought the MicroPac EC-ESU4K - 3.5" USB 2.0/eSATA External Hard Drive Enclosure from Buy.com. It works fine. The green LED (power is on) turns amber when there is disk activity. The LED is on the back of the enclosure. The box includes: 3.5" SATA drive enclosure, 32" USB cable, 32" eSATA cable, small Phillips screwdriver, 6 screws (you only need 2 for the enclosure, small user guide

I got what I paid for. It's a no frills enclosure. No mounting holes for the hdd so it lays in the enclosure. No disk access light. But it does work well.

First was DOA - but replacement works fine with a Seagate 500GB SATA HD. Its on USB2 at the mo - but I may try out the ESata when I fit a PCI card soon.... Heavy metal case seems to be cool enough (so far anyway).

Simple to install the harddrive and the included screwdriver made it even easier. The stand was cheap plastic that is hard not to break and the black paint job was easy to mark up. Overall, you get what you paid for, an external case that functions well, but without many whistles.
