1 of 5 Bad, try a better brand! Wednesday, December 26, 2007 Michael from Fort Worth, Texas
Less than half of these discs were even recognizable in my new HP computer's Litescribe DVD DL burner. Very frustrating. I hope Memorex gives me a full refund, but I'm not holding my breath. You get what you pay for and there's a reason why this cheap product is half the price of ALL other competitors. Spend a little more and get a better product! Pass on this brand... If you don't need to burn large files, stick with the regular DVDs. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Buy branded only blank DVD+R DL Thursday, September 27, 2007 A Customer from Stockton, CA
I had a very bitter experience when I bought non-branded DVD+R DL from CircuitCity (Nexxtech). Some DVDs failed to be burnt, some failed to play flawlessly. When I called the customer service, they said no warranty was applicable after 3 months. DVDs are supposed to play for decades! No problems with these Memorex DVDs so far. Well known brand, 1 year warranty, plays without a hitch after burning. Will buy again. DO NOT BUY NON-BRANDED BLANK DVDS, FAILURE RATE IS HIGH!!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Product But Read Carefully Tuesday, September 11, 2007 AHavlicek@sbcglobal.net from Milwaukee, WI
Before you buy these, make sure that they can be used with your electronic component. The double layer feature limits your ability to record to them with just any piece of equipment. Other than that, they're great. Holds plenty of video. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Stable and No Error so far Thursday, August 30, 2007 A Customer from Sunnyvale, CA
Price of Memorex DL DVD is a little bit more than other brands, but so far, it is compatible with all DVD players that I own. Other brands, some would work and some won't, in my DVD players. Archiving movies on Memorex is safer than on other brands, because the chance that it is compatible with many DVD is excellent. So far, I have not seen any writing error on this brand DVD. 5 of 5 Perfect Deal Wednesday, August 29, 2007 A Customer from Orlando, Florida
This media works best for me (NEC-3551). The real manufacturer is RITEK. No errors after the burn. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 decent price, no coasters Friday, August 17, 2007 A Customer from some town, ct
These dvds worked in the past for me, and this batch continues to do so. (Plextor drive, Nero software, Philips player). What more is there to say about a commodity item? Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not exactly 8.5GB Friday, August 17, 2007 Manjunath from Greensboro, NC
Had problems in writing any data over 7.9GB. Dont know the reason but was a dissatisfying experience at the beginning Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good product great price! Wednesday, August 15, 2007 A Customer from Ridgecrest CA
We used on DVD, to record a longer movie. It worked very well. Same DVD costs lot more elsewhere.
So, if you have longer movies or bigger data files to record, you can't go wrong with this product. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Ok media, but a few bad burns and not universally Tuesday, August 14, 2007 A Customer from San Antonio, TX
I am using a Pioneer DVR-111D and have used these DVD's for hard drive data and DVD movie backup, copying files to move between computers and for home video/camcorder storage. I have tried 15 burns and have had 3 failed due to finalization or other errors. That is a 20% failure rate. These discs are also only recognized in two of my five DVD players which includes home and computer. I won't use these discs again. I would recommend Verbatim DVD's as they tend to be more universally recognized and I have yet to have a failed burn using that brand. They cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. 5 of 5 Shows as 2.4X - Burns as 4X Wednesday, August 08, 2007 A Customer from New York, NY
Great product! Cheapest price...I think Staples sells the 15 pack for $35-$40.
I use these with a liteon drive and have never had a bad burn with them. Work fine in standalone DVD player and DVD recorder. They only show 2.4X but burn at 4X and DVD Identifier shows them as rated at 4X.

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Great value...startling fast delivery ! Thursday, May 31, 2007 erehmann@rochester.rr.com from Rochester, NY
This item was a good 1/3 less thru Buy.com than thru other "sale" sites. I was actually "shocked" at the fast delivery. Just a couple of days. This isn't a high-priced item, yet they delivered as though it were. NO efforts to "sell up" during check out. Straight-forward, "what you see is what you get" process. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Incredible deal Wednesday, May 30, 2007 A Customer from San Diego, CA
These were the best deal I've seen anywhere for a name brand. (buy.com specials e-mail. Read them!) I received them a day after ordering with free shipping! No problems at all with any coasters yet. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Price for a Great DL Memorex DVD Tuesday, May 29, 2007 dfazakas@netscape.net from Bethlehem PA
The sale price ($.... for a 25 pack of Memorex Dual Layer DVDS) was the best I could find (a Buck a piece). I see the price is back to normal now ($.... for a 25 pack). Check Buy.com's daily specials and they may pop up again at the great sale price. These DVDs hold 2 hours at the BEST Quality (which I need for my old VHS Family tapes which were recorded at 6 hour speed (SLP)).
They can record up to 8 hours on my LIteON 5005x AllWrite DVD recorder/player which I use for my TV but I wasn't able to get it to recognize the DL DVD. Even so, the AllWrite only records to regualar DVDs (and DVD/RW) and then only allows FF at 2x and no rewind. I emailed them twice with no response. Back to Memorex...
They worked fine on my IOLite PC 16x DVD writer (which I've had for over 2 years), although I had to update the drivers. The DVDs worked fine with my Software (Pinnacle and Nero) after updating the software also to recognize the Dual Layer 8.5 GB +R DVDs. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 reliable but slow Monday, May 28, 2007 A Customer from pdx
Of course it should come as no surprise since they're clearly listed as 2.4X, but if you didn't already know, the fastest you'll burn a full Memorex DVD+R DL 2.4x disk is over a half hour. However, they don't error on my Optiarc AD7170A, which is nice, plus I got them for like $1 each. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Media Tuesday, May 15, 2007 A Customer from California

5 of 5 Good DVDs Wednesday, April 04, 2007 A Customer from Crystal Lake, IL
I've bought them with a rebate and discount. If you don't get those, they will be a little pricey. One out of 25 failed to me. Other than that, everything cool. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good product pricy, but slow Saturday, March 31, 2007 A Customer from chicago, IL
There are products available with comparable quality of 8X speed out there. I used to burn 2.4x for dual layer and it takes ages. Once I bought 8X I will not go back to 2.4x. Memorex price is always at the higher end. However , buy.com always good in shipping prompt. Keep it up buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What are they talking about? Friday, March 16, 2007 grant varga from NYC
I've read other reviews where people urge us to buy quality DVD+R rather than Memorex, made in the far east. But I love these blanks. With state of the art burners and firmware, I've never burnt a coaster, and I love the silvery starry appearance, leaving the whole face to write titles on. And BUY keeps bringing me killer pricing, so it's an easy choice to keep recommending them to my friends. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What they promised when Monday, March 12, 2007 A Customer from Whittier, Ca
All I can say it was what they promised delivered when they promised at the best price. They were at least $10 a package cheaper than the other guys. I now read my buy.com specials every day. This is the 5th special I have purchased from Buy.com and have been pleased with them all Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Brand! Sunday, March 11, 2007 A Customer from Falls Church, VA
Can't complain about Memorex. It records and plays back correctly. However, there're some strange reasons that it sometimes has problem playing back on phillips DVD player, the version playing DiVx. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Burned with Dell bundled Roxio software Saturday, February 17, 2007 A Customer from Glendale AZ
I bought these double layer DVDs to make backups of my documents and photos. The Dell Dimension E510 was purchased about June 2006 and came with Roxio light (Roxio Creator LE - Dell Edition -- Build: 2.4.32a). I was able to insert the blank 8.5GB double layer 2.4x media and burn a 7.7GB backup at 2x. My bundled Roxio does not offer a burn speed control, so 2x was automatically selected and remained constant throughout. The burn took about 55 minutes and the verify took about 28 minutes. There are faster media available, but at this price the DVD's are unbeatable. Great quality as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Just works! Wednesday, February 14, 2007 A Customer from Aurora, IL
I burned a couple of them with no problems. That is a big difference after switching from a pack of Playo disks which burned more coasters than DVDs. Nice change for me! Was this review helpful?

I have used these discs before, with good results, but this is the first time I have seen this product packaged this way. I would have only received half a dozen discs at Circuit City for the price. Shipping was fast as well. Was this review helpful? |
