4 of 5 Great Product Tuesday, October 27, 2009
A Customer from Norman, OK

These work great and you can't find a cheaper price. I've used these over and over and always came out right. My only problem is the changing of the writing surface and design.

5 of 5 Best DL for the buck (Xbox 360 Back-ups) Monday, August 17, 2009
Viking from Henderson, NV
I've been using these discs for a long time now for my console back-ups and for the price these are the best deal out there I have burned about 450 of these and have only had 3 costers (proper burning technique is recomended never write faster than 4x w/ DL disks... use the proper layer breaks if availble)

5 of 5 For making Xbox 360 Backups, these are the way to Sunday, August 02, 2009
Rickey from Saint Marys, Georgia
Despite the negative reviews, I took a leap of faith and purchased these discs. After doing some online comparison shopping of DVD-R+ DLs sold by reputable companies (Verbatim, Memorex, Sony, etc.), the cost per disc of this package was just too good to pass up. Sure glad I didn't! I purchased them primarily for creating Xbox 360 game backups, and have been successful in all attempted burns thus far (4 for 4!). While the discs do indeed say "8x", I've had perfect results using a 2x and 2.4x write speed. Seeing as this is the speed recommended for burning quality video game backups anyway, I have no reason to use the full "8x". Burning a perfect backup of an Xbox 360 game at these speeds takes about 30 minutes. Just fire up the burn, go about your day, and listen for the ImgBurn completion chime! Hitachi HTS542520K9SA (standard internal laptop burner), Vista 32-bit

1 of 5 Poor Choice for HP Vista Tuesday, July 07, 2009
Michael from California
Even at 4x they fail 3 out of 4 burns. As I am writting this another failed. My last stack were no name DVDs' and 3 of 50 failed. Today it is 11 of 14 that have failed. HP 9727 with Vista service pack 2.

1 of 5 Complete Waste of Money Tuesday, June 30, 2009
A Customer from Lawrenceville, GA
I took a chance on buying these after reading some people's favorable reviews and the price was only $30, but I have tried 7 burns with 7 coasters as a result. They burn all the way through, but none of my dvd players or my computers can read the discs after they are burned. I guess you get what you pay for with Memorex. I tried everything to get these to work, but they are simply just cheap inferior media. I've never had any problems with Verbatim, and I will gladly from now on pay the higher price for them. I am using a Macbook Pro and Toast to burn. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE CRAPPY DISCS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

1 of 5 Do not waste your money on these Wednesday, June 17, 2009
WinterRose from Raleigh NC
Working with three different burning programs, one of which is the current Nero Burning Rom (9.4.13.2), on a brand new Sony Dual Layer DVD-Burner (purchased at CompUSA) as well as a rather reliable NEC burner (Both with entirely current firmware), with every resident process killed, My internet disabled and using disks from two different stacks from two different manufactures... (I didn't choose to get Memorex again. I merely had no choice when trying to exchange the media at a local CompUSA as the store only carried Memorex DL's and they would not refund the money. Their return policy is not to refund money on opened blank media, even though to see if the media is defective, you have to open it.) ...the ratio was 2 to 3 coasters created for every successful burn. Losing the possibility of my system being the problem, it must be the media itself. Do not buy these unless you're looking for a way to make expensive yet pretty Coasters. And if you must, do not buy it from CompUSA.

5 of 5 Great media, great price Saturday, May 16, 2009
A Customer from Wilmington, DE
I have used about 100 of these in the last few months and they have worked great. Only one or two coasters in total, which is normal for any media. For the price nothing else can even compare. As long as you have a decent burner and are using quality software then you shouldn't have a problem. By the way you should always burn dual layer media at a slower rate, I normally use 4x and have never a problem, but I know many people who only use 2x. It's worth the extra time to make sure you get a quality dvd. Highly recommend these dvds.

5 of 5 Excellent as always from Memorex Friday, May 15, 2009
Eric from Hollywood, CA
What I received was slightly different packaging than what's pictured, but it was still the same Memorex DL+R product. I've used Memorex DVD+R's forever and this is my first experience with Dual Layer Burning having bought a new computer earlier this year. I've had NO PROBLEMS! Every DVD has burned perfectly. Keep in mind that sometimes when people do have problems the problem is NOT with the DVD's but with their software and/or DVD Burner. If enough people like me have had no problems than the DVD media must be good. I highly recommend using Memorex DVD's as they have always burned perfectly for me.

4 of 5 better than expected Saturday, May 09, 2009
sticklorat from Arvada, CO
usually hesitant to use anything other than tayo or verbatim - needed some to "back up" x-box games and managed to only get 1 coaster out of 50 burning slow on a plextor drive - happy overall but still more likely to use my usual media going forward... i can see a difference in load times compared to my other discs

5 of 5 Great value for money Friday, April 24, 2009
A Customer from NY
My 3rd batch of this media and it's working perfectly on my ASUS QuieTrack, you only have to make sure that there is no over use of memory by any other program or else the nero buffer will be blocked and you'll add a new coaster to your collection !!!

4 of 5 Can't blame the DVD Media, hard to find an app whi Monday, April 20, 2009
A Customer from Austin, TX
DVD+R DL media is finally within reach price wise, however I have created 4 "coasters" so far, and have had 5 successful burns. I believe it was the software application I was using, since it would fail at the layer break burn portion of a write session. The successful burns are awesome however! It is nice to have the whole DVD now, and don't have to worry about the kids ruining the original, and expensive media. If you have the correct software app for writing these DVDs, then they are a great value! And as always, Buy.com's shipping was FAST!!! Thanks Buy.com.

3 of 5 Actually Ritek disks Sunday, March 29, 2009
John from Lansing,MI
I had read that Memorex was "re-branding" other peoples disks and selling them under the Memorex brand. When checking these with Nero, I found they were actually Ritek disks. The few I've used are fine BUT: This seems cheezy. If you can get Ritek for less, go for it. At the current price, I'd buy them again.

5 of 5 Amazing deal for xbox 360 games Tuesday, March 24, 2009
Keshav from Wilmington, DE
I use these dual layer dvds to burn xbox 360 games i get off the internet. And I paid about 33 dollars for a 50 pack of these including free shipping. So if you consider that you can't lose. In my opinion, you don't need to buy the Verbatim media everyone tells you should get, these work just fine for xbox 360 games, and I even write them at the highest speed (8x). So what are you waiting for, go ahead and buy these today!

5 of 5 No problems Monday, March 23, 2009
A Customer from Atl, GA
I purchased these because Office Depot no longer makes their own brand. I have burned about 10 w/o making any coasters, and they seem to be readable everywhere I expected. I use them in a HP DL drive I bought last year. The price is okay, but way better than the Brick and Mortars...

5 of 5 Memorex 8x DVD+R Double Layer Media--great deal! Sunday, March 22, 2009
T Thompson from Huntley, IL
I've purchased several spools of Memorex 8x DVD+R Double Layer Media. They work fine for my wife's recording movies through my cable provider (at 1x speed real time) and for burning movies using Toast Titanium 9. I also use them for data backups with no problems. I'll keep buying them!

5 of 5 Great Thursday, March 05, 2009
A Customer from Bergen, NJ
Look, Verbatim is better. Fine, they use a different process which allows faster reading from discs, ect. FINE. enough already about them. These things cost what 60 cents each? Verb. cost 2 bucks each. even if 3/4 turn into coasters, your still in the clear money wise. I have had two coasters out of the last 100 discs exactly. I just ran out of my second 50 pack, and they always burn good. I burn at 2.4x with a reliable burner and im good. I have no complaints with these discs, def. give them a try. You cant beat this price. remember, your saving near 70 dollars on this compared to verbatim!

2 of 5 Used to be okay, terrible now Monday, March 02, 2009
Mike from New York City
I've used Memorex DVD+R DL for a while and had good success with probably about 1/5 coasters which isn't bad for cheap media. I bought the 50 pack and when I went through 30 of them, 2/3 of the discs coastered at the lowest burn speed possible. I've been using Verbatim since and haven't had a coaster yet. Definitely not going back to Memorex, even at this price. Adds tons of hassle expecting every disc to coaster.

3 of 5 Only works with some burners Sunday, March 01, 2009
A Customer from Pittsfield, MA
These Memorex DVD+R DL discs write reliably at 4X speed in a Plextor 716A burner but fail every time in three other burners (two different Lite-On models and a Samsung slim-line portable). They are inexpensive and I can use them with the Plextor, which is the only reason for keeping them, but I wouldn't buy them again.

5 of 5 No coasters yet Sunday, March 01, 2009
PTyson from Smithfield, VA
So far so good. I always burn DVD's and CD's at a lower speed than the writer is capable of. This usually prevents any coasters. So far it has worked well with these dual-layer DVD's also.

I was one of those who only brought verbatim until i realized i would save money on memorex dl!! To all those who dont believe they work buy the 3 pack and try them don't bad mouth the product because you make people really scared to try something different that might work for them. Ive burned about 120 of these disk for my xbox360 and had no problems disc play on other systems as well as mine after burned and im about to order 2 more spindles. Compare the prices and then do the math you'll are making verbatim rich!!

5 of 5 Cheapest Xbox 360 +R DL Media Thursday, February 19, 2009
Guy with over 100 XB 360 games from Boomer Sooner!! Yeah we lost again but what did yo
The media I got was Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66. Well I couldn't even burn this Memorex media with my good old trusty BenQ 1655 which has burned a good selection of older and very cheap 2.4x Matrix and PlayO +R DL Media (Shop4tech.com). It didn't even recognize the media at all. So I used my newer Lite-On LH-20A1S Burner and Xbox Backup Creator and burned at 2.4x (Always always burn at 2.4x) and after wasting about 10 dvds trying to find out what works. I found that this works the best. I did try ImgBurn but that didn't work and that is what I always use. Now at 70 cents per disc ($35 w/ free shipping) you can't beat the price. With the high cost of DL media I think its better to buy a new burner that will burn cheaper media. Look at it this way I am going to buy another box of 50 Memorex discs for another $35 making the total over $70 for 2 boxes. You can get a new burner that you know will burn this media real good for $25 or $35 add that to the $70 and your still not even paying $1per disc or maybe just over a $1 per disc. Before this I bought real Verbatim DL media (Disc ID: MKM-001 (2.4x)) for $1.75 each. So take your pick. I also have a Samsung drive in my Xbox 360 VERY IMPORTANT!

5 of 5 Great value Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Michael from Carlsbad, CA
Some people give these discs negative reviews saying they are getting like a 20% failure rate and that Verbatim is the only disc worth buying. These people have no idea what they are talking about and they are obviously doing something terribly wrong. I've burned well over 200 of these Memorex DL's and I've had only 1 coaster, and that what when I had left my burn speed too high, which was completley my fault. I would not recommend burning at any higher than 2.4X, the people who are getting coasters are probably burning faster than 2.4X. All discs burned with IMGBurn with a LG burner.

Joe from Prescott, AZ
Use dual layer dvd's to backup high quality images of dvd-9 format, make 1-to-1 copies of video disks for archiving, or for data storage. You must have a DL burner to use dvd+r DL's. Good deal. Hard to find offline.

5 of 5 BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK Saturday, February 07, 2009
A Customer from Warrenton, VA
I was almost about to buy Verbatim Double Layer DVD's and I stumbled upon this monster 50 pack for half the price. I have already burned over 20 backups of my DVD collection and haven't had a coaster yet. Before you judge this brand, give it a try. You will not be dissapointed. Save your money and get twice the amount of DVD's than Verbatim. Recession is here, save your money. Hope this helps!

5 of 5 Works as expected Saturday, February 07, 2009
virtual void from Irving, TX
I have used various Memorex media for last 4-5 years and have been pretty satisfied with the quality, this one is no different. I have burned about 12 discs, one disc became a coaster, but I think that was because of the computer, rest of the discs burning was smooth. I have an older computer where I was not able to burn, but have not tried any other DL media on that computer so not sure what the issue is, the disc burning never started so I was able to use the same disc in the new computer.
