I have 2GB RAM Dual Core Dell Laptop, and for security reasons I bought this product.
After I installed the product, I saw a significant change in processibility of my computer.

I've gone through anti-virus software from three different companies, Norton, CA and McAfee. The McAfee is the best from the perspective of providing protection without being intrusive. Any anti-virus software is going to be a compromise requiring some attention from the user and I found the Norton and CA products to be too frustrating to use. I'm on my second year with McAfee and am happy with it. Was this review helpful?

Unlike previous unsuccessful attempts to install McAfee products in recent years, no problems this time. If you are changing over from Norton, be safe and use the Norton removal tool on the Symantec web site. My understanding is that the normal unistall does not completely remove Norton and the remnants may cause problems with the installation and operation of McAfee. With this product and using the Norton Software removal tool, I now have one successful installation with Windows Vista and one successful installation with Windows XP. The only drawback is that there are a number of protection options for McAfee and they are not well explained. If you do not want a customized installation then you are OK, but if you want to only install McAfee's virus checker or maybe only McAfee's spyware protection options, it is not always clear which of the numerous options you should choose. This is a wonderful product that covers all security issues, without the problems that Norton sometimes creates. It can be used on 3 computers (instead of just one, which is all the Norton downloads allow) and is very easy to set up and use. And on sale at Buy.com, it was a fantastic deal! Highly recommended. I have been using Norton for about 3yrs now. Bought McAfee for a change and was impressed with its network security performance. Site-advisor was in fact working good (tested with some prospective 'bad' sites). The MAIN thing i liked about McAfee is that it uses comparatively lesser memory and processor resources than Norton.
Over all, i will be keeping this product for a long time. Was this review helpful?
