Maxtor 300GB OneTouch II FireWire and USB Hard Drive - E01G300

First off, Im not a paid reviewer, nor do I play one on the internet... ;-) I purchased one of these drives a while back, and have been using it daily for backup, and as a media working drive. Its been a fast, quiet, solid drive that I've come to rely on. More products should be as good at this one!

There are two previous reviews of this unit. One says, "With the luggage case, transport is a breeze - I don't have one, though..." and the other one says, "it will be more reliable than other larger but slower storage that is entering the market today." Ask yourself, would you or any of your friends or even the most technical nerd you know ever talk this way? Who in the world writes that something he can't do and has never done "is a breeze"? What techno-nerd compares a box he likes to what "is entering the market today"? The answer is -- only a marketing droid who is paid to post reviews as if they actually own the product and who has a checklist from the PR department of points they are supposed to make in the "review". They got lazy and didn't write it in their own words because they didn't understand the marketing hype well enough to paraphrase it; they just lifted the phrases from the marketing checklist. Just because it got posted in a "review" doesn't mean it's triu or even that the writer believes it.

Very fast no-nonsense external hard drive that reads quick and is highly reliable. Have maxed out the storage with multimedia and it is super-fast in transfer. Can be stacked for additional storage and it will be more reliable than other larger but slower storage that is entering the marked today.

This USB drive has it all - speed, reliability, and maximum capacity. At it's original price tag months ago, I wasn't even interested, but as soon as the price dropped , I started looking at it again. Sure, it comes with the one-button backup feature, but I hardly ever use it, and neither will you. What you will do, however, is have plenty of room for your computer, no matter what type you use, Mac or PC. The extra 300GB is a dreamboat of space, I can finally do what I want to do on this laptop and store all the extra luggage in my (might I add small and very quiet) external drive. With the luggage case, transport is a breeze - I don't have one, though, so I just wrap it up properly, pad it and protect it from the elements, it's traveled over 1000+ miles with me and no problems. I trust this harddrive, and if the price is low enough, you should too.
