5 of 5 Outstanding Value and Quality Saturday, February 16, 2008
Bob from Stockton, CA

I see that there is a misunderstanding of the term "isolation". Many confuse isolation with active noise cancelling, where a small amplifier is actually generating a cancelling signal, for the net purpose of masking ambient sound. Compared to open air "ear buds", the iMetal design rests in the ear canal with soft silicone rubber "hats", effectively isolating the listener from a good percentage of the ambient sound, just like quality ear plugs do. Let me tell you about the nuts and bolts of it: these little guys not only look great, they perform flawlessly! The sound quality is very good and neutral. At this price, it's hard to beat them. Compared against the market out there, how many units have a lifetime warranty? I would definitely recommend a pair for your sansa, or any portable device. The supplied clamshell exceeds all federal standards of cool, and as a nice bonus, the 2ft (about 70cm) extension cable is very nice, and is of excellent quality. These buds are very efficient, and provide comfortable output without having to "crank it up".

3 of 5 MAXIMO iM-490S Made for Sansa iMetal Isolation Ear Sunday, February 03, 2008
A Customer from Appleton, WI
The sound with these ear buds is excellent. The only problems I encountered was they seem to fall out of the ear quite easily and I would have liked it if you could turn down the sound lower. Unfortunately, at the lowest volume level it is still too loud to suit me when I am inside. Maybe when the weather improves and I'm outside with noise it will be OK. For now, I find I'm not using because I can't get the volume low enough.

2 of 5 Not worth it. Friday, January 18, 2008
Sven from Warrenton, VA
These earbuds are very noisy. The diaphram (or something inside there) pops and cracks very loudly as you move your jaw. In addition, if you ever get them to sit just right without popping and cracking with every head or jaw movement, they are very bassy. The top end is extremely lacking. Simply put, they are noisy and sound like hell. Other than that, I love them.

5 of 5 Very nice buds Tuesday, January 08, 2008
A Customer from Chico CA.
I've used exclusively Sennheiser headphones and earbuds for quite some time now, but these beat those hands down. Very clear audio and the volume needed on these isnt nearly as high as on the Sennheiser's. I will definitely buy Maximo ear buds again.

4 of 5 Not bad for the money Saturday, December 29, 2007
Tony from Ormond Beach Fla
If you've got a Sansa player, these buds provide a decent upgrade for a reasonable price. The biggest plus, in my view, is they are a heck of a lot more comfortable than the stock buds, which always made my ears ache after a while. But sound quality is improved too, especially on the high end. The sound is brighter, crisper. Another plus is the much longer cord, if you need it (you can remove the extension if you want, a nice convenience) and the cord is much heavier gauge than the flimsy one on the stock buds. Low end sound performance isn't much. I don't see much improvement there, despite promises to the contrary. But I still would recommend them.

4 of 5 Good but not Great!! Saturday, December 22, 2007
dodamage65@earthlink.net from Raleigh,NC
Overall good earhones. One side came apart, I put back together..seems to be OK. Metal housing a little heavy and therefore a little hard to keep from falling out of your ear. Sound is good for this price point.

4 of 5 Isolation? Monday, December 17, 2007
KR from Oakland, CA
The sound is very good, and the phones stay in well. Two issues: 1) This is advertised as 'Isolation', but this borders on false advertisement IMO: there is NO noise cancelling as far as I can tell; it just stuffs your ear, so outside noises stay more removed. 2) Putting these in, I get squeaky noises from air getting compressed and trying to escape in my ears. Uncomfortable. I put a small pinhole in each rubber stem to let air escape as I put them in, and it feels better now, though as the result, it falls out a bit easier.

2 of 5 dont be fooled by the accessories Saturday, December 15, 2007
A Customer from New York
I bought the previous model of these headphones from buy.com about 2 months ago. They are extremely uncomfortable, have alot of background "white" noise, and are exceptionally flimsy. My left earpiece split in two when I removed it from my ear...enough said! For the price, there are MUCH better headphones out there. This company needs to put out a better product instead of catching buyers with accessories... To those who still order, you have been warned!

5 of 5 Sound Improvement Thursday, December 13, 2007
A Customer from Wethersfield, CT
This product has the same specs as the V Moda Vibe Duo at a considerably lower cost. Sound quality is excellent for the price-point. We'll likely purchase their upcoming combined earphones/microphone product for our iPhones when they're released (promised date is January).

4 of 5 Excellent sound for the price Friday, November 30, 2007
John from Chevy Chase, Md
With a rebate, these earphones were cheaper than the stock Ipod earphones but sound much better. My only complaint so far is I did not receive extra ear plug covers that were supposed to have come with it. Poor quality control for packaging might indicate a problem with the product, but time will tell.

4 of 5 Good value but not the best Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Nadeem from Memphis, TN
Very good earphones. The ear portion tends to come off easy when tugged. The quality is good. The earphones are working well.
