These do fit in your ear like ear plugs so that helps block out surrounding noises. Work great on airplanes. Compared iPod earphones they do not sound as good, but the iPod earphones don't fit my ears well so that is why I decided to give these a shot. These earphones are great! I got them on sale for 20 bucks, but would defintely pay full price! They are comfortable, stylish, and the sound is great. Purchased these earphones for my daughter (iPod) and also my own use. Have found them very satisfactory with good fidelity and comfort. The are light weight and while I'm still deciding which ear piece of the three provided fits me best, the sound quality is great, particularly at such a reasonable price ($20). The case provides great protection, but buyers should know that it is too small to hold all the accessories that come with the earphones. Still - protects the earphones from damage when being transported.

I have 2 Sansa Players an e130 and an m250 both of which had pretty good earbuds. The m250 has awesome sound but is uncomfortable in my ears. The e130 has buds similar to the Maximo set. Unfortunately both of the original earpieces are better than the Maximo - Oh well - live and learn. The Maximo does have very good sensitivity.
The Maximo is tinny with poor bass performance and I'm not an audiophile!
On the bright side I ordered this 2 days ago on budget shipping and already have them - way to go Buy.com! Was this review helpful?

I like quality music reproduction, but am a long way from obsessive. These are tinny with no bass and lots of distortion - probably the worst headphones I have ever tried. I bought based on the reviews here - beware.
They are nice and shiny but basically trash and I have thrown them out.

What sold these to me is that they "Blocked outside sound" I didn't know it was because it stuck in your ear like EAR PLUGS.

These headphones are amazing. Very good for isolating oneself from distractions and, therefore, no good for use while walking or jogging. In-ear design lets you keep volume at a minimum and still be oblivious to surrounding noise.
The sound is incredible.
I don't understand why or how people can give negative reviews on this product.

These are great earbuds, fit snugly and the sound quality is great. The biggest problem is that they create a lot of pressure on the eardrum because of the tight seal inside the ear. Additionally, the sound is shot directly into the ear canal. Long story short, great sound, great fit but probably not good for your ears. Was this review helpful?

After the burn-in period, they sound pretty good. Once you figure out which buds fit you best, they are very comfortable, and the sound isolation is very good. My only issue with them is that they have a little trouble staying in properly. If you snag the cord even a little bit, they'll just pop right out of your head. I bought into the low bass complaints...and it's only true if you don't place the earbuds in right. To use them to their full potential, you must tilt them a certain way, and then it's bumping and the sound quality is still top notch. Maybe i should try the other bud sizes... I purchased these in place of a $129 set that I was dissatified with. These headphones are better in every way. Clarity of high and low fequecies in all ranges of music, hard rock to classic they all sound outstanding. I travel and work out four to five times a week. The comfort of these ear buds are superior to any I have had in the past. So, in summation, they are excellent and superior in every way. You can't go wrong with this purchase. I'm not understanding why other reviews have noted a lack of bass. I'm using these with my iphone and after adjusting the EQ, it works great. I still require the adapter so that they will fit into the headphone socket on the iphone.
This product comes with a case and all the necessary adapters (including the airplane two prong adapters). It also has adjustable rubber ear plugs so it will fit most any size ear. I found these to be incredibly comfortable. I'd buy again.
