 Editor's Note
Martin Payne (Martin Lawrence) is a loudmouth whose job as a radio and television personality fits him like a glove. MARTIN focuses on Payne's relationship with his long-suffering girlfriend Gina (Tisha Campbell) and the wide variety of crazy friends he surrounds himself with, most of whom are also played by Lawrence. This second season of the show finds Payne getting into further mishaps, with 27 episodes included.

| | Professional Reviews | DVD Talk 8 of 10 Martin Lawrence's self-titled sitcom, Martin, is best remembered as one of the strongest entries in the early days of the Fox Network. Debuting in 1992, Martin helped solidify the bawdy reputation the network had been earning since its debut in 1987, as well as continuing to blaze a trail for more opportunities for African Americans on network television...a blast from television's past that still mostly holds up. Stale plots are no match for a talented ensemble cast and the pure energy of Martin Lawrence. You'll get caught up in the sheer exuberance of the presentation, and the four-disc set is worth the evenings of laughter it will give you. - Jamie S. Rich
