The most inoffensive, pleasant holiday collection to come out during the 2005 holiday season. Across these three discs, Martha "M. Diddy" Stewart has assembled over 50 of her favorite holiday songs and divided them up by theme: Traditional Songs for the Holidays, Jazz for the Holidays, and Classical Favorites for the Holidays. A veritable who's who of adult contemporary and jazz artists grace this compilation, each paying homage in a soft, warm, and inviting way that is ideal for background music at almost any holiday gathering imaginable. Ever the philosopher, Stewart proclaims in the liner notes that "special times in our lives can be made even more memorable when accompanied by great music," and she does her best to provide an ideal atmosphere in which to present these tunes. As expansive as this collection may be, it's hard to envision a holiday scenario where this music wouldn't be a welcome addition.
