Your favorite go-kart racing circuit is finally coming to the Wii. Just snap your Wii remote into the included steering wheel, and you're ready to enjoy classic Mario racing circuits, as well as plenty of new ones, with your old friends Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Bowser and more. Pick up coins and Koopa shells along the way to increase your speed or blow your opponents off of the track.
Mario Kart Wii will include 16 new courses and 16 classic courses from previous Mario Kart games. For the first time ever, players have the option of racing with either karts or motorbikes. Players can also hit the road as their personalized Mii caricatures in addition to the handful of classic Nintendo characters found in the game. True to the series, the game features tons of racing, plenty of power-ups and oodles of objects for players to use to slow down other drivers. And 10 battle arenas will keep players busy between trips around the circuit.
The easy-to-use Wii Wheel will also be sold as a separate accessory, giving every driver in the household a chance to get behind his or her own wheel. And if veteran Mario Kart fans are afraid of getting smoked by rookie drivers using the Wii Wheel, they can rest assured that Nintendo has them covered. Mario Kart Wii supports four different control options: Wii Remote with or without the Wii Wheel, Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller combo, Classic Controller and even the Nintendo GameCube controller. So there's bound to be a configuration that fits everyone's style.
Mario Kart Wii launches with a new channel added to the Wii Menu to enhance game play: The Mario Kart Wii Channel. This new channel builds on the huge online community of Wii owners and lets players compete in tournaments, check worldwide rankings, see when their friends are playing and download ghost data.

Mario Kart for Wii is a great game. The box comes with one Nintendo Wii Wheel which you can put the wiimote inside. You can use the wiimote with the Nyko charge pack also as it will fit too. You do not need to use the Wii wheel to play as I just hold the wiimote only. The game has good graphics relative to the Wii system of 480p, but the funnest part is the ability to play online. The online system is free and one only needs a broadband connection for this. You must also do a Wii system update online before being able to play the game. Once updated, you can play with friends that you connect online with the Wii or play people all over the world. Great! Was this review helpful?

Mario Kart is a good game that Nintendo brought out for the Wii. I still think that like Brawl you need a game cube controller, which still dominates over the wii remote especially when it comes to sliding and boosting. The online play is fun with friends, but wiht other people I think the fact that you can't turn items off takes away the level of difficulty of the game since it feels more of chance in getting better items than any real skill involved. This game is simply a blast to play. Whether with a group of friends, or some quick practicing by yourself, you will have fun with this game. With it being so easy to pick up and play, even people who have never played this game or the Wii can dive right in and compete. Even my wife, who isn't a "gamer", likes MK. My almost-2-year-old enjoys watching us play and she loves to play with the Wii Wheel (although she gets nowhere in the game). The game can be difficult and frustrating if you are trying to unlock many of the secret characters and courses, or play competitively online. But if you're just playing for fun this is a great game for everyone. It's one of the few game titles that's actually worth the $50 retail price. Was this review helpful?

This is by far the best game out for the Wii, in my opinion. I haven't enjoyed playing Mario Kart this much since the SNES days. The graphics are great, gameplay excellent, and it's a very deep game. You can play the grand prix by yourself or versus a friend, time trials are addicting, and online multiplayer just adds another great element.
You can also unlock new characters, cars, and tracks by playing and winning different medals on the circuits. You can even unlock your Mii to use him to race by winning the 100cc cup. Also, racing with the wheel is pretty cool, but I prefer the classic controller.
