There are lean, stirring versions of classics by Stevie Wonder ("Higher Ground") and Tower of Power ("What Is Hip"), soothing vocals from Corrine Bailey Rae, and a tip of the hat to Miller's old boss Miles Davis ("Jean-Pierre").
