 Editor's Note
This 1960s spy series took the uncommon step of teaming up an American with a Russian agent--dashing Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) and morose Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum), respectively--in a secret spy agency equipped to fight off international threats. Dubbed U.N.C.L.E., the multinational team was headed by Briton Alexander Waverly (Leo G. Carroll) and fought constantly against the plans of T.H.R.U.S.H., a syndicate bent on world domination. James Bond author Ian Fleming helped develop the show, and THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. shares 007's penchant for gadgets. Originally shot in black-and-white and told in an earnest style, the show later switched to color and camp, in that order. This collection presents all four seasons of the iconic show's adventures in espionage.

5 of 5 Hey, it's UNCLE! Monday, March 02, 2009 A Viewer from Highland Park, NJ
Yeah, some of the plots are silly (especially Season Three). Yes, some of the acting is rushed. But it's the MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.! It's Napoleon and Illya, back to save the world once a week and bring a smile to your face. It's James Bond, if he actually cared about the people he protected more than about himself. It's all four seasons of UNCLE, plus bonus tidbits. Bring back your childhood, introduce your kids to a classic, watch for the really odd guest stars or just enjoy the camaraderie between Robert Vaughn and David McCallum. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face! Was this review helpful?

I have waited a long time for this TV show to be released on DVD. Wow what a classic pre-BOND series. It has some great stories and well written and acted. If you watched them in the 60's and enjoy Ian Flemming style spy action this is a must. Was this review helpful?

One of the first true spy shows with class and power. Well worth having in the library. Was this review helpful?
