I purchased this system after good reviews from PCworld and for the price suggested from them, I can say that for 250$ this GPS system is what you can dream for in a GPS. Music and audio plus FM transmitter makes me enjoy more my trips from now on. Was this review helpful?

I puchased this system for my daughter who does alot of out of town traveling. I have a Navigon and thought about getting her one. I saw a video demonstration of what all this could do. It had many more features than my Navigon, I started checking out other systems. I feel I got the best system for the price I paid (Buy.com had the best price). This is the system I should have purchased for myself and I will upgrade my system in 2009 to this one. It had everything I wanted in a system and more. It is easy to use and I like the fact that you can add items to the main menu screen. My Navigon has traffic alert but so far I've never seen it in action. The alert system on the magellan worked like a charm. Trying to find points of interest on my Navigon is an adventure in itself, you have to know what group or category to look under and that can be frustrating. The Points of Interest on this one are easy to locate and as simple as typing them in. I can't speak for others, but I rest easier knowing that my daughter has this system helping her on her trips. Pros: Very simple to use, many features, FM modulator, bluetooth, media player, lane guidance & 3D building references, screen clear and bright, locks onto satellites fast, fast routing and re-routing, good tech support, solid windshield mount, many POIs, free toolbox software to manage backups - updates and routes, lower price than competitors with the same features. Tells you which side of the street your destination is on. Solid build and thin enough to fit in a front shirt pocket. Ac charger and case included.
Cons: Must purchase FM traffic subscription after 3 months if you want it, pronounces words or numbers a bit off occasionally but could be corrected with future firmware updates, battery is not user replaceable for this unit or its competition, no voice command, 1.5-2hr battery life typical before recharge is needed. HOW TO START, I REALLY WANTED TO LIKE THIS GPS BUT THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT IT THAT I DECIDED TO RETURN IT AND GET SOMETHING ELSE.

TOUCH SCREEN SESITIVITY ISSUES (MODEL 4350, TRIED MODEL 4370 AND IT WORKED FINE)
WHEN ITS APPROACHING NEXT TURN IT DOESNT GIVE YOU THE BELL SOUND.
TRAFFIC UPDATE IS NOT FREE LIKE THE COMPETITION
SLUGISH PERFORMANCE
UPDATED NEW FIRMWARE AND NEVER SAW ANY IMPROVEMENTS
MAPS ARE NOT UP TO DATE (TAMPA FLORIDA HAS NEW BRIDGES AND MAGELLAN RECALCULATES WHEN IM USING ANY OF THESE BRIDGES AND SOMETIMES EVEN GO CRAZY ON ME )2009 MAPS MIGHT FIX THIS PROBLEM

I recently purchased the 4350 to replace my Boyo 4300. The Boyo had it's limitations, especially with customer support. The Magellan 4350 is very nice looking and easy to figure out. A few negatives were it was hard to hear me using the bluetooth. I have to toy with that. Gave me bad directions on a trial trip to my mother in-laws. It made 2 mistakes on the trip. Has performed well since. Good voice promts and lane assist is nice. POI are handy. I will be using it on a trip to Hilton Head soon and that will be the real test. Over all I'm happy with it as long as it gives good routing. Was this review helpful?

Got my 4350 from Buy.com just before Thanksgiving and I'm loving it, a few quirks at first but Magellan has made updates to the software already(anything new out has small problems). I mostly like the 4 route options that you can take going to your destinations, plus the Triple AAA guide, I like there ratings of Hotels, Restaurants and Attractions in the area. A great product from Magellan and even a greater price, can't go wrong. First time doing a review hope this helps.. Was this review helpful?
