2 of 5 Better ones are out there Thursday, May 29, 2008

Internet add says that it support SD card, but I did not see a port opening for a card. Did any one use SD card with this product?

3 of 5 Ok Product Tuesday, April 22, 2008
Nik from Fishers, Indiana
This product gives a mixed performance for me. Ease of Use: First, the remote and the buttons on the device are extremely hard to function ... the buttons on the device dotn work at all and I have to use remote everytime to change the frequency. Connectivity: Connection seems to work fine for this product. Was able to easily plug my mp3 player Sound: Sound I will rate 4 out of 5 , you can hear a very small static noise at low volumes but thats acceptable.

5 of 5 Everyone Should Have One for Every Car ! Wednesday, March 26, 2008
rich salisbury from martin, Ky
Love this device. Works without a flaw right out of the box. Until I used the remote, it was a little clumsy to operate the volume control - but with the remote it's a no-brainer! Everyone should have one of these! (For every car.) (Especially with USB drives - just plug in your USB drive, and you're listening to your MP3's !)

3 of 5 No Substitue for MP3 Player Wednesday, March 19, 2008
A Customer from Irvine, CA
It is an FM transmitter with limited utility. If you only wanted to listen to one song after another on a road trip, this is for you. If you wanted to have the ability ot FF or RWD to find that certain lyric or phrase, this is not for you. I didn't use the remote because of the limited utility. To gain the utility you will need to hook up an IPOD or Sansa that allows you to FF or RWD.

5 of 5 works well Thursday, March 06, 2008
wolfgang from burlington, vt
We bought this before a 2 week vacation which included a lot of car rides with our two toddlers. I put all of their favorite music and some entire Thomas the Tank Engine stories on a USB flash drive and used it with this item. Worked flawlessly and the same device is now in use in our Minivan. Colleagues of mine reported problems with their competing brand FM transmitters, but this device had no problem with other stations etc. Only when you are right on the frequency of the strongest station in town then it is advisable to change the frequency because there will be some background noise. You can tune in any frequency you want, so that's not a problem in addition to being a very rare occurrence even when traveling. Would buy again in a hardbeat. I have not experienced any mechanical problems as mentioned by another reviewer. The thing gets tossed around and seems solid. We had it for half a year now.

3 of 5 Not so good... Friday, January 25, 2008
Larry from Dallas, TX
This FM Transmitter looks great and is easy to hook up but doesn't perform very well. When hooked up to the mp3 player, it makes a lot of background noise, which gets higher pitched while you accelerate. It's almost tolerable once a song is at full volume but during any quiet spots or in between the whining static noise is unbearable. I would not recommend this product to others. I am now faced with having to get a new stereo so I can enjoy my mp3 player in my car.

4 of 5 This item is very good Friday, December 28, 2007
Salette M J from Chester, VA
Since I hear lot of music, I don't want to buy different CD's. I just dump all my music into a 2 GB flash drive and play in my car.

3 of 5 Works well, kind of cheap Friday, November 30, 2007
Angelo from Chicago, IL
Works well for the price, but it is very cheaply made. The face plate broke about 15 minutes after I took it out of the box, so I had to glue it back together. I like that you can hook up a thumb drive and play music, but if the thumb drive is large it doesn't connect well. Also, the springs that hold it in place are weak, so the slightest jarring will cause it to lose contact with electrical connection.

5 of 5 good FM transmitter Thursday, November 29, 2007
krish from Antioch, IL
It works good. In cold weather it does not come on by itself and gives error 8 but it you remove the transmitter from DC plug and insert it again, it works fine. sound quality is great and best of it is the remote control. I have the unit plugged in in arm rest console DC plug and remote works fine. Good value.

5 of 5 Excellent Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Manish Singh from East Windsor CT
Wonderful product at good price. The sound is not 100% same as the CD player but yes i found it almost same quality of sound with little less volume. But overall it is a good device because it has inbuilt MP3 player which can play songs from a USB flash drive connected externally to it. I liked it.

2 of 5 Very mediocre performance. Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Morton Grove, IL
Volume obtainable on radio is fair with USB input and very poor to not useable with mp3 input. My car has antenna in rear window so perhaps the distance from the antenna to the device is too great. A large disappointment.

5 of 5 Works as advertised Wednesday, November 28, 2007
wolfgang from VT
Got this item before a long car trip with the kids. We could entertain them with their favorite songs without having to bring a lot of CD's, only one USB memory stick. Works very well on all frequencies. Only for a very strong station on the same frequency did we get a little noise once, but moving the frequency by 0.1 solved it easily. Two friends told me that their transmitters from another brand were much more sensitive to other stations and cars etc., so I would definitely buy this one again. Nice is also that it remembers the last track when you switch the power off, although not the position within the track. I don't think you can fast forward on it through a track.

4 of 5 Pretty good Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
Overall it's fine for the money, but I ended up giving up on it and buying a Sony head-unit that accepts USB sticks. At first I was frustrated that on mine, the buttons on the unit for changing frequency simply didn't work (except very occasionally), but the identical buttons on the remote control worked fine. Still, that indicates quality. The unit did a great job of playing files off my usb sticks, with two caveats. First, I got a high pitched whine when I was using other electronic things on the car, especially my air conditioner. Second, it creates windows media files on your usb stick to duplicate each mp3 it plays. A minor annoyance to clean up later. Overall, I can't complain for the money, but I enjoyed the functionality so much I went for a real head unit which far, far outstrips this little temporary solution.

4 of 5 Cool Gadget Wednesday, November 28, 2007
KV from TX
This is a cool gadget for those who have a car with no MP3 players. It can play MP3 files from a flash drive or any device with a USB 2.0 or 3.5 mm audio output. You can pause the play and it will remember where it paused when you restart the car, or change cars. All funfuctions are accessible from the remote control. Please be careful when you fiddle with the small buttons and do keep your eyes on the road or get somebody else to operate it while you drive.

4 of 5 Good value Wednesday, November 07, 2007
A Customer from Bloomington, IL
The unit works just fine if you tune to a channel that has strong signal. With $10 rebate when I bought it, I thought it was (still is) a tremendous value.

5 of 5 Best Reception So Far Wednesday, October 17, 2007
A Customer from Winchester, MA
I have used a variety of fm transmitters in my car and I have always been less than satisfied. They sometimes transmitted okay but other times the sound quality was poor. Surprising, this transmitter delivers the best sound that I have seen yet. In addition it seems to work on most unused FM frequencies and I do not have a go looking for other frequencies to transmit on while I am driving. I also like the design that the transmitter is housed in the unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter rather than having 2 separate units. I have not used the USB capabilities yet. The main 'con' with this device is that there is NO documentation. I went on the Mach Speed web site and this product was not even metioned. Also it looks like they are real slow in sending out rebates

5 of 5 Really Great Product Sunday, October 14, 2007
Sreekanth from Edison, NJ
I decided to try this product. It just worked gr8. Surprisingly it even converts a USB Flash drive into MP3 Player and sends signals to my CAR Radio. I checked it on all FM frequencies and it worked. Just buy it.

5 of 5 Starts runs and goes Friday, October 12, 2007
David from Avard OK
I got mine today. Once I got it out of the tough plastic cover, the rest was simple. I had a 2 gig pen drive with mp3s already on it so all I had to do was buy a car to test it. So far it is working fine and does what it is advertised to do. Works just fine for what I intend to do, I can't testify as to the sound quality because I'm getting pretty old and don't hear as well as I used to, which wasn't ever all that good anyway. By the way the molex plug on a computer, thats the one that plugs into the hard drive is 12 volts positive on the yellow wire and the black is negative so you can use a couple of jumper wires and use your computer power supply to play this thing in the house. If you don't know how to do it, don't try it. I'd buy it again, and I might buy one for my mom's car. She is older and deafer than I am but it's simple enough she can use it. I can read the LED fine Remote works well and it's easy to use. So it's good-bye radio and commercials, hello mp3s.
