I've had this Mp3 player for over a year and still cannot use it properly. It will play songs, but does not allow you to skip to the next song or next album. It's very hard to navigate anywhere. I can put songs and albums on the player and delete them, but trying to listen to them is another story. I've tried to update the firmware using the manufacturers instructions, but have been unsuccessful. There software does not recognize that I have the player plugged in when I try to update. Even tried the latest set of instructions, but it does not work. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Wouldn't recommend Tuesday, December 18, 2007 A Customer from Perrinton, Michigan
My son used this mp3 player and took very good care of it. It worked prior to it sitting unused for months. We replaced the battery (had died) and all loaded music was gone, and the disk is not readable, although 3 different PC's have recognized the device when plugged in, none of the 3 could write to it. The status of the drive is unreadable. I cannot find anyway to reset or reformat the internal drive. So, as far as overall satisfaction and value - wish I could rate a zero here. 5 of 5 Detached from the brick Wednesday, September 26, 2007 t280 from Bedford VA
I used to use an older - hard drive based mp3 player.
but it was like having a ball and chain.
Id sometimes be in a hurry and go to move and "the brick" would go flying across the floor as I had it sitting on the desk while I work on the computer.
I was skeptical of how good this could be for such a low price but figured I would try it ...
its been really great ... although the earbud / necklace system kinda sucks if you ask me ... recommend you get a lanyard
( I used one of my old usb lanyards for a small usb memory stick that I seldom use anymore)
Sound is great - and the freedom is great ... the interface is very useable once you get used to it ... and the controls are simple but very functional.
I liked it so much I bought another one (2GB version) to store other songs on so that I could just unplug this one from the earbuds and lanyard and clip on the other one.
Computer recognized it with no problems without installing software too ... bonus.
If you are a person who likes to blare music and be mobile but live with people who are sound nazis - this is a good buy.
only real complaint I could have is the ear buds hurt my ears a lot but thats after like 6 hours of use - and they fall out on occasion ... but Ive never seen earbuds that dont.
The batteries seem to last a long time - I bought rechargeables and have fallen asleep with the earbuds in and woke up the next morning to tunes.
so - if the sound nazis are ruining your lifetime of loving music....Get this.. its a must have ;)

5 of 5 Great MP3 Player Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Mike from Sterling, VA
Great little unit and a great price. Very easy to download files from my XP laptop via the built in USB.
My only complaint is there is no way to back up or move forward within songs or recordings. But, it you just want to play songs all the way through, this is the ticket. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Works great... for a year Sunday, September 23, 2007 A Customer from Lubbock, TX
This thing lasted a while until at complete random it started either overtaxing the USB ports or shutting down my computers.
I have no idea why it started doing that, and it still plays songs, but I can't add new ones or do anything with it that involves its USB port.
The sound output was great, and it continued working even though I had stepped on it and broke the screen. It ate batteries fast, so if you're going to buy it, get a set of rechargable AAA batteries. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Dead after 4 months Thursday, September 13, 2007 A Customer from Falls Church, VA
I bought this for my daughters 9th birthday. She hasn't used it much and it has died after just 4 months. As another person wrote there is no information on how to send this item back to be repaired. Guess I am just out the money. Don't Buy This Item! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Not happy with this mp3 player Wednesday, August 29, 2007 A Customer from BF,Idaho
This player stopped working after I would guess no more than 50 hours of use. My next big complaint is that when it was working it would default back to the first song every time it shut off. So if you wanted to pick up where you left off you would have to navigate through the system to find where you stopped. Maybe there was someway to change this, but I could not find it. (this was the third one of this style(pen type) I bought, they all ended up in trash after a few weeks.) Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 MP3 player Friday, August 10, 2007 A Customer from Milford, CT
The first player I received would not load music. I spent some time on the phone with tech support, and they were very helpful. I returned the product and was issued a new one in a timely fashion. Good customer service, which I appreciate. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent product!! Just what I need for walking.. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 V. Jean from Westerly, RI
I found this product very easy to use, once I got the hang of it, and the sound is great...however, even with my broadband service, I found downloading the songs a little slow. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 good for me... Tuesday, June 05, 2007 A Customer from palatine, IL
This little gadget is perfect for what I wanted. It plays my music. Kind of short battery life. Played for only about and hour and half before i had to change the battery. Also, when first starting the player, it took a while before all the functions started to work. Pretty simple to use, but I thought it was broken at first. It's neat that you can see your lyrics as you play the song, but will anyone really download all the lyrics to sync with the song? probably not, but that's just me. cute, small, and effective. i've received many compliments already. i've only had it for a month. It totally beats paying $200+ for an IPod. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 1 GB MP3 for ($..)....WOW! Tuesday, May 29, 2007 wesman72 from Houston, TX
Works great! Simple to use, good sound, and runs off of AAA batteries. It is a little bigger than I thought it would be...a little longer and twice as thick as my Ipod Shuffle (the old one). For the money, you can't beat it. Was this review helpful?

I wanted an inexpensive MP3 player to take on walks and this has definitely fit the bill! Great price, nice sound quality, holds a good quantity of songs (I haven't filled it up yet so I can't say how many). It's easy to use, buttons are easy to manipulate, it's lightweight. It comes with some songs pre-loaded and advertising on the software driver that I could do without but I guess for the cost it's not a big deal. Definitely recommended! Was this review helpful?

After shopping around other web sites and stores I made my dicision to buy the Mach3 because of the size convience and the quality compare to others. You can't go wrong during the Holidays especially when you are looking for a bargin. I look forward to shopping next year and hope to get the same quality as offered by BUY.COM. I recently purchased one of the Mach Speed 1 gig mp3 players. Overall, its one of the best players I've had. Its easy to use, easy to transfer songs. I love it. Tech Support was very helpful when I couldn't solve a very easy issue that I will not reveal to anyone. :) Everyone should own at least one of these. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great for the price Tuesday, October 03, 2006 Colleen from Conifer, CO
This little player is a great value. The screen is small, and I don't care for the multi-function button/roller switch on the side for FF/REW, etc. - it is difficult to use. But for the price, you can't beat this unit. I bought it specifically for listening to podcasts in my car with the help of a wireless FM transmitter, and it works well for this use. This is the second one I purchased. One for car, one for house.
Does what it says it does. Plays MP3. I listen to audio books.
I am way past 50, so the display is hard for me to read, but that is what magnifying lenses are for.
My ears like it just fine. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Missing flash info Sunday, July 23, 2006 tj from mpls, mn
OK this is the only way to go, you've got a portable mp3 player & don't need a cord so you can always download mp3's off your buddies computer. AND you always have a gig flash drive you can put pictures, homework, and back up files on. HOWEVER, the specs don't give drive speed. Slower ones are 1mb write & 2 or 3mb read while some of the faster flash drives write at 20mb & read at 24mb. I would buy it now but am missing that info! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good one Wednesday, July 12, 2006 Rudy from San Ramon, California
For the price quoted this could really have simpler and easy to use. The small screen makes things even more complex. Was this review helpful?

I have been using this product for a month now. It works great. The sound is surprizely good for the size of the unit with the stock earphones supplied, sound quality will vary with which type of headphones that you use. Battery use is at an average of 2 days per battery, depending on the amount usage per day and desired volume level. Was this review helpful?
