5 of 5 Priced Right Wednesday, October 31, 2007
A Customer from Sussex, NJ
Purchased this unit a few months ago and have used it to travel around cities I visited. Plugged it into the rental car and after it located itself was excellent in giving directions to my chosen destinations. Just plugged in the street address and in a min or two was off. Probably slower than higher priced recievers but well worth what I paid for it.

5 of 5 Good Unit for a Good Price Thursday, August 09, 2007
A Customer from Reeds Spring, MO
Was able to open the box and pretty much use the unit. It did take about 2 minutes to find my position, but I do live in a rural area of SW Missouri. I was able to add addresses and map routes with little or no reading of the manual. I was also able to go to the Lowrance web site and download the latest product update from the web site. Good unit for a great price.

5 of 5 Great unit, great price! Tuesday, August 07, 2007
Saber Of Borg from Westfield, IN
What a great unit! And low-cost too! Hard to believe such an inexpensive unit can perform so well and provide so many features. Play MP3s _AND_ provide navigation at the same time? Wow . . . the way-more expensive Delphi 200 can't play AND navigate at the same time . . . and the somewhat-more expensive Garmin C330 doesn't do MP3s at all. I love the user configurability of this unit . . . being able to decide WHAT information to be displayed over the map image and WHERE on the screen it is to be displayed . . . what a concept. All of the other mapping devices seem to think THEY know where YOU should view turn directions and/or time/distance to destination . . . the 250c lets me decide, thank you very much! Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom could take some clues from these guys. Only MINOR negatives: - Slow acquisition of satellites on initial power-up (30 sec to 2 minutes); but it recovers quickly from loss-of-signal when driving thru tunnels. - Alternator whine in audio output if headphone jack is plugged into an FM modulator (no whine from internal speaker) for listening to MP3s using car stereo; bought some line filters for 12V feed, I hope will solve the problem. - Somewhat slow initial route generation; rerouting on missed turns is acceptable - 2GB SD card comes "full" (100MB free), so no room for MP3s or Pix. Luckily the Transcend 4GB 150X SD card works like a champ and is only $50-ish . . . just copy the data from the Lowrance chip to your hard-drive, and then from hard-drive to your new card . . . then plug new card into 250c. Presto. - Map information is 1.25 years old (1Q06 when unit purchased 2Q07), so some recently constructed/rerouted roads are not present on maps. Need an extra suction cup mount? See MountGuys.com Need an AC wall charger? See PocketShop on eBay.com OK . . . Why does Buy.com's review tool NOT maintain the formatting I've provided?? It runs all of the nice, line-wrapped and bulleted-list text together into one big, ugly mess! Yuk.

5 of 5 Good value Monday, June 25, 2007
LTJ from Hillsborough, North Carolina
Out of the box and on to my dashboard - working in just a few minutes. As other reviewers have stated, there does seem to be a long wait for this wonder to find itself but not a big deal, especially if you leave it on. My setup allows the power to be on while ignition is off so it is on when I need it. Seems to have more than enough POI. The Mp3 player is not needed, nor the picture player - already have iPod. It gets a 4 for ease of use ONLY because I actually had to read some of the manual (not usual in my case) but the manual is now in a file cabinet - never to be moved again. I have used the Magellan and I am glad I saved the $$.

5 of 5 Great portanble Nav system Sunday, June 24, 2007
Bill from Tonopah, Arizona
I'm well-versed in GPS, and I wanted a portable one in the truck for finding streets and what-not when I travel in Phoenix. My wife's Dodge Charger has a factory-installed system, and I though it had the best mapping and POI database. The backbone of the Dodge system is NAVTEQ. So I looked for a portable with NAVTEQ, and the iWay has it. I wasn't sure about the screen size, though. Because I sit all the way back, and thought the screen (3.5") would be small. So I made a template prior to purchase and tried out the pretend screen size. It seemed adequate. Now that I have it, I'm impressed. The maps are clear. The POI database was okay. I think it has a little too much info. The touch screen has large buttons, and icons are sensitive to touch. I plan on using it less for 'routed' travel, more for having a moving map, and the ability to find restaurants and gas stations while traveling.

5 of 5 worth for the price Thursday, June 21, 2007
A Customer from Avenel, NJ
I took this GPS as it is cheap. It is worth for the money that I spent. It may not have great features. But it has basic GPS functions. The voice does not say "Turn right on to Green St". It says "Turn right after 500ft". You should be wise enough to guess which turn it is saying. Otherwise you can quickly watch the screen to see which turn it is. Or you can ask your spouse in the passenger seat to watch the screen and tell you the exact screen.

2 of 5 If you can tolerate the really slow start-up on sa Tuesday, June 19, 2007
A Customer from Bellevue, WA
I bought it after reading the mostly postive reviews. However, after using it for a few days, I concluded that I simply can't tolerate the super slow start-up on satellite lock. On a good bluesky day it takes 3-4 minutes to get a 3D fix, but on a cloudy day it will take double that long to get the lock; also during the route it lost connection a few times even though it was on open highway. If you can't tolerate that you'd need to spend $100 or more to get one that has better reception and faster locking. I ended up returning it paying shipping and 15% restocking fee. On positive side, it has US+Canada map built-in on 2GB card and a huge amount of POI which is definitely a plus for this class. Everything works well when it has signal.

5 of 5 250c Saturday, June 16, 2007
A Customer from Ft Lauderdale, FL
I am very happy with the value of this product. It is a low priced and accurate piece of equipment. My only complaint is that it appears to be slow to claculate directions. The SD card makes it easy to put songs and pictures on the device. I'm even getting one for my dad!

5 of 5 Awesome product :-) - Its worth it Tuesday, June 12, 2007
A Customer from Herndon, VA
Eventhough its been a couple of weeks since I bought this product, I liked the product very much, especially the ease of use and touch screen feature to navigate through the menu options or enter address. It took me few minutes to get to know the product feature. Overall it is a great product, go for it :-). The only negative aspect of this product is that, it takes a while (5 to 10 minutes) to get locked on to the satellite. I hope the latest map update are FREE ;-) have to check with customer service.
