| | | Jenny does more than just reveal the winning formula that worked for Evan. Her story shares the frustrations and joys of raising an autistic child and shows how with love and determination a parent can shape their childs life and happiness. Annotation: In this dramatic, inspirational memoir, the bestselling author reveals her son's health struggle from his first seizure to the eventual diagnosis of autism and the repercussions in his life and her own. She provides a detailed, day-to-day account of the experience by illuminating the diagnostic and treatment processes as she shares her personal perspective. After immersing herself in concerned-parent-fueled research at what she calls the University of Google, she shares the success of the alternative treatments she found for her son while candidly recounting the pain and confusion surrounding the illness.

5 of 5 Better than expected. Inspiring and faith-restori Friday, March 07, 2008 Christine from Renton, Washington
I was prompted by a friend of mine to listen to this book because I also have a child who has social behavior issues. Even though my son doesn’t have Autism, I thought it would be inspiring to read about someone who has gone through even bigger challenges, and overcome even larger hurdles than I would ever be faced with. I was not disappointed. Not only did this book help strengthen my resolve and faith, it was extremely informative about an epidemic that I was completely clueless was so predominate in our lives right now. After reading this book, I’m not only more encouraged to practice more compassionate practices with my own son, but I am more aware of those families around me, and find myself wanting to see others with a new ‘eyes-open’ philosophy. Thank you so much, Jenny. Your journey will forever stay in my heart, and will help support me along any of my own future journeys, too. Was this review helpful?
