Sedate married couple David and Linda Howard live lives of quiet desperation. David has put in eight long years as creative director of a top ad agency, while Linda has worked in a windowless office for the last seven years. Plot Summary
David Howard is a seriously stressed-out advertising executive beset with financial and professional commitments. He and his wife, Linda, have just purchased an expensive new home and he's expecting to become company vice president. But on their moving day, his life takes a radical turn when he loses the big promotion to a coworker and tells off his boss. So David grabs Linda, buys a Winnebago, and sets out on a cross-county road trip. En route, they make some pretty startling discovers about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.
