The show is an ambiguous, complex web of possible government conspiracies, secret scientific experiments, and supernatural phenomenon in which one's fantasies and expectations run wild. The audience awaits a mix of suspense, science-fiction, and adventure. And just as one mystery is solved, another crops up in its place...Lost captivates its fans in two ways: There's the psychological aspect, in which we see our main characters facing extreme stress and anxiety, and see how they interact with each other; and there's the mystery, the burning question of whether or not there's a rational explanation for what has unfolded on screen for two seasons. Lost is drenched in conspiracy theories that seem implausible--and almost impossible to explain--unless the entirety of the action is actually taking place inside the mind of a seriously deranged individual (a theory that's been officially refuted by the creators of the show). - Rudy Joggerst
