A horrific plane crash leaves 48 passengers alive and stranded on a remote island in the South Pacific. Created by successful television producer J.J. Abrams (FELICITY, ALIAS), LOST became one of the most popular and critically acclaimed programs of the 2004-2005 season. Utilizing a ripe premise and well-drawn and acted characters, LOST attracted a huge following and was proclaimed the saving grace of a television year otherwise marred by derivative reality programming. The story concerns the survivors of a terrible plane crash, who find themselves stranded on a tropical island with seemingly little chance of a rescue. Medical doctor Jack takes a position of leadership, helping to rally the survivors and prepare them for a period of difficulty as they learn how to survive on the island. But everything is not as it seems: the island offers potential danger in the form of a large, mysterious creature, and evidence is found that the plane crash may not have been an accident. As they struggle to survive, each of the characters forms alliances and makes enemies while dealing with the unresolved issues of the lives they've left behind. LOST distills the difficulties of society down to their essence, exploring these problems with compelling characters and with a setting that's equal parts paradise and mystery. This release contains every episode from the show's second season, one which avoided the sophomore slump by solving old mysteries, unlocking new ones, developing unexpected frictions and bonds between characters, and heightening the drama overall.

The show is an ambiguous, complex web of possible government conspiracies, secret scientific experiments, and supernatural phenomenon in which one's fantasies and expectations run wild. The audience awaits a mix of suspense, science-fiction, and adventure. And just as one mystery is solved, another crops up in its place...Lost captivates its fans in two ways: There's the psychological aspect, in which we see our main characters facing extreme stress and anxiety, and see how they interact with each other; and there's the mystery, the burning question of whether or not there's a rational explanation for what has unfolded on screen for two seasons. The packaging design on this set is really cool. Seven Discs in the set and one of them is all bonus footage. The real reason to buy this set is because, well, it's Freakin LOST! Only one of the best shows in television history, and possibly the very best show in abc's history. Anyone who likes drama, mystery, & intrigue, mixed in with mild humor, would be well advised to jump on the LOST bandwagon. Also, when it comes to price, buy.com is really all you need to know. I like Season 1 better than Season 2 and I can't wait for Season 3 to come out....because I liked Season 3 the best. I bought Season 2 to complete my ongoing library of Lost Episodes because I LOVE LOST! It also helps fill in the void while Lost is on hiatus. Was this review helpful?

The second season takes a more sinister and dark turn. The season begins with a tragedy, which is a portent of the insane number of twists and turns to come through the remainder of the season. This season started off a little slower than the last one, but picked up quickly. A lot was revealed, but in typical LOST fashion--many new questions were raised. I am counting down the days to Season 3 premier but am not sure how I will suffer therough the one week wait in between episodes...the complete season on DVD is the way to go! I don't watch much TV, but this summer I got hooked into watching Lost - Season 1. It was amazing, so I had to watch Season 2. I couldn't wait til Lost Season 2 came out on DVD. If you don't like LOST you aren't human. Go back to your home planet. This is the single best show ever. Watch it. It's worth your while, and owning every season on DVD is an absolute must, especially if you've ever missed an episode. Was this review helpful?
