Excellent sound although the mid ranges are a little lacking. Best feature: the controller that sits on your desk that has an on/off switch, bass and volume controls. Very convenient.

Great sound; overall very pleased. Installation was easy, but the cables could be a little longer. This set was selected due to reviews gathered around the net and because it was Altec-Lansing. My prior set was made by AL and even though they admit their design was strange, they would not stand behind their product. It was only 2.5 years old... So I went with a name I knew and could trust. I feel good recommending this item.

overall good speakers. bass excellent. a little disappointed in the clarity/accuracy of the highs. happy but not thrilled.

Sound is incredibly good. I live in a dorm, so 2.1 speakers are sufficient for me. However, the volume, clarity, bass of these speakers surprised me. Best purchase ever.

I bought this to go along with a new computer I'm building, because I read excellent reviews everywhere I looked. The subwoofer is very solidly built, like a real subwoofer (rare for a computer speaker). The bass is deep and almost overpowering (luckily the wired volume control has a separate knob to adjust the bass). The left/right speakers are very well built, as well, with hard plastic and aluminium. They also look very sleek. I hooked them up to my MP3 player, before I had the computer set up. I also watched The Matrix with them connected directly to my DVD player. The sound was amazing, especially for the price. There was only a bit of lack in the mid-bass region, so male voices did sound quite as natural, but this also had the postive effect of making the sound less boomy (as most computer speakers do). The small speakers don't get very loud, but that's what a real stereo with several hundred watts of power is for. My only gripe is that the only inputs (which are on the back of the subwoofer and the on the wired remote) are the 3.5 MM headphone jack type, so you have to have an adaptor, if you want to hook up a source other than a computer or MP3 player. A couple of RCA inputs would have been nice. If I didn't have a real stereo system, I'd defnitely buy these just for watching movies/TV and listening to my MP3 player. They are awesome computer speakers.

I wanted these because the speakers can have the stands removed and hung on my wall...saves space. I like the volume control that sits on the desk with bass control. Plus I can plug in my sansa player through the desktop control. Sounds great...subwoofer is small enought to sit on a small shelf under my desk. It's a winner

The subwoofer can be hidden away under your desk, the wired remote can be placed on your desk, It has a power on off button with light indicator, big volume knob and smaller bass output knob as well as headset jack and input for your mp3 player. So if your processor is under your desk, no worry,just keep the remote on your desk. Great sound, great bass response, but I would like a bit more volume on this. I am used to my 10 year old Altec Lansing which blows this away in that one area. If you don't need it to blast your neighbors but want great sound then this is the deal. The wired remote on the desk next to my mouse is great when unexpected volume changes occur, you can quickly adjust. It also looks great. The unit is all black, right down to the speaker wires, My PC, monitor, mouse keyboard are black, its sits on my black and glass desk and matches fantasticly, the z4-i is the same unit in white

I recently replaced my six-year-old Audigy sound card with an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card. It made my music sound so much better that I wondered if replacing my old Yamaha 2.1 speaker system would help even more. After looking at and listening to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX speakers and the Logitech Z2300s, I settled on the Logitech Z-4 speakers. Why? First, my computer is in a small room and I didn't really need all the power that the ProMedias and Z2300s offered. I saw no reason to pay for a bigger subwoofer and power I didn't need and would rarely - if ever - use. Second, I'm no audiophile, but the Z-4s sounded just right to my ears. I'm not into heavy, pounding bass, and the Z-4s have plenty of bass for me. Third, I liked the wired remote on the Z-4s better than any other I looked at. I also don't have a lot of room in my office, so the smaller size was a factor, too. I like having the option of mounting the satellite speakers on the wall if I decide to go that route. Buy.com got the speakers to me faster than expected. I had the old speakers removed and the new Z-4s ready to play in less than half an hour. The finish and quality of all components is excellent. Best of all, the sound is incredible! I've listened to classical, country, pop, rock, techno and rap. The Z-4s handle everything I throw at them. After a few adjustments of the X-Fi's settings, the sound in music and games is a huge improvement over my previous audio system.

I got these speakers pretty quickly within 2 or 3 days with the free shipping option. The sound quality is great and the black speakers look sleek. My friends have even commented on the power of the bass when i turn up my music.

It works well with little distortion. The desktop speakers have solid bases and don't tip over unlike the Labtec units they replaced.

These speakers sound great. I don't do a ton of gaming and just wanted a solid 2.1 set for music while I work. The sound is crisp and clean. I'd definitely recommend these. The auxiliary stereo mini jack on the volume control comes in handy as well.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall sound of the Logitech Z-4 speaker system. The wired remote control for on /off, main and bass volumes,head phones and aux input jack is very nice. Watching a DVD movie on my computer with all the sound qualities turned on blew me away, even my brother said the sound was good, he's very particular when it comes to good quality sound. Low cost with fast and free delivery made this BUY.COM purchase experience outstanding.

Logitech succeeds again! Flawless sound, flawless design. The whole system looks very sleek and contemporary, and the volume control module is a definite improvement from the Z-3 because it now features an extra input to plug in my ipod instead of having to unplug it from the computer each time. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the price and buy.com's service. ROCK ON

A fine product at a reasonable price. Sound reproduction seems true and flat across frequency. Bass does not distort at high volume levels. The remote control (wired) is convenient and features a separate adjustment knob for the subwoofer volume. I also like that it has a hard on/off power switch on the remote as well. Buy.com shipping was no additional cost (a real value given the weight of the box) and was extremely fast.

Clear and crisp highs and decent lows. Sounds great unless you compare it side by side with Logitech's own larger and more expensive Z-2300, which has a fuller and richer sound. I am impressed by the sound from such a small package. Quite stylish, too. Very good value, esp. with the rebate (I've never had any problem with Logitech rebates). Excellent choice for people who want good sound but don't have the space under the desk for a large subwoofer. Highly recommended.

Just lovin the speakers. Shipping was super fast even when I got the free shipping, my speakers came in 2 days!!! JEEBUS! Buy.com is truly the best place to shop. Anyways, setup for this was easy, sound it spectacular, bass is nice, and gotta love the separate controls. I had an Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers for my comp. before this, it was nice when I first got it, but the cord was faulty and not even a months use, all I got was static. I'm currently working on changing the wires for those and use them elsewhere, but as for the Logitech, its worth the buy!

These speakers are TERRIFIC... They sound beautiful... i've owned few different speaker brands but so far these are the best... Watched movies and listen to all types of music... the bass is deep and warm with techno and trance... movies are now come to life.... Great buy... i'd recommend this system to anyone now... for $15... you can't beat this deal

Wow do these things sound great! I listen to all sorts of music and these speakers have not let me down no matter what the style. Watching movies is also a blast with these things. You can hear every whisper as well as get blown away by movie special effects. The volume and bass control is convenient, and the ability to power off the speakers on the volume controller is nice too. They also look great! The sub is compact and in a nice square shape so it doesn't take up a ton of room. It has a heavy duty screen on the front so no worries about kicking a whole through your sub. You can't beat the price on this thing. I was very surprised at the high quality! Great Product!

I have to say that I am really impressed with the whole Buy.com experience. My speakers arrived surprisingly fast, no issues, no problems, just a simple purchasing experience. The speakers themselves sound great although, in my room, the highs seem to dominate more than I prefer, which is probably because my previous speakers were not very good at reproducing as full a range of sound as these speakers do. I have no issue with the bass which is perfect and there is no argument that the clarity of the sound is amazing. There is no doubt that these speakers represent an excellent value.

I've recently been using my computer more often to listen to music so decided to upgrade my speakers. I chose the Logitech Z-4's. The clarity and accuracy are excellent. There's plenty of power for an office or bedroom. With the base turned half way up you can feel it pound. I've heard distinct background instruments and voices that were previously just a wall of sound even on a higher end stereo system. There's a bit of a raw edge to the electric guitars; cymbals and drums seem to explode; and keyboards sound like you're in the room with the piano. Some songs I feel like I'm listening to for the first time -- familiar but new all at once. (By the way they look good and set up in moments, too.) For the money, I don't think you can beat them.
