I have used Logitech speaker systems on other systems in my setup so expected good performance and got it with this system. I knocked off a point on satisfaction due to a design flaw in my opinion. The speaker for the sub-bass box is pointed out the bottom of the box which is to be expected but it has no grill or other protective covering and would be easy to poke a finger through when lifting it. Be careful when you unpack and handle the subwoofer to not poke a finger through the speaker cone underneath.

This system has great sound at a great price. It was deliverd for FREE and it took only 2 days(they must have been around the corner when I ordered it!). The only "problem" is the lines are too short. Just get 4 male to female rca extentions and you will be fine. Thanks for the great deal and service!

Well, After receiving my speakers, I hooked them up. Just plugged them in,turned on the computer and WOW.!!! For that small amount of money you really get some good sound. Well worth the price. The base is really good and I adjust the highs to suit my ears. These speakers are great. More than I expected.!!! 5 STARS for these speakers. Buy them. You wont be sorry. A friend of mine at work recommended these speakers as a Christmas gift for my 19 year old son. He loves playing WOW and StarCraft, etc... on his computer. He only had one thing on his wish list this year, and it was speakers for his computer. So, I purchased these. I haven't personally listened to them, but his dad says they're amazing and everyone at the house loves them. His dad is even thinking about getting some for his computer. (and he's not a Logitech fan!) Anyways, from what I have heard, these are really great speakers. The price was pretty good too. As they were pretty heavy, S&H was kind of high - but the got there quickly and without any damage. Good buy.

These speakers are great! The sound is clear, crisp, and for such a low price you get more bang for you're buck! My only problem are the rear speakers. The cable is a tad bit short, other than that, it's great. These are fantastic speakers with great quality, has an adapter for you're gaming consoles and with matrix mode can convert 2 channel audio into 5.1 digital audio. Not to mention buy.com delivered these babies to me in less than 3 days. Not bad at all!!

I received the product quickly. The quality of sound for the price point is great. I live in an apartment so something of greater quality and capacity would go to waste. The subwoofer is very good that now I need to sound proof the floor so I don't get kicked out of my place.

I have always had 2.1, i didn't know i was missing so much sound. You can hear everything, was watching TV on my computer and i actually got chills, kinda like the movie theater, its hard not to get sucked in to the movie. just wicked! id suggest putting your 2.1 in the bathroom and getting this set. 11.22.08 this is the cheapest place i could find these speakers.

It works just fine. At first I had a low volume problem. After I adjusted the volume controls in my system, the audio volume of the speakers is more than adequate, enough to drive you out of the room. Bandwidth quality is ok too. The remote speaker volume control is very handy, providing a choice between center speaker or four speaker coverage.

The sound is great for the money paid. The only issue was that the cables for the rear speakers where to short and I had to buy a extention cord for them!

I cannot believe the clear, crisp highs and the deep, rich bass these speakers deliver for under a hundred bucks. I hooked them up directly to my tv with the adapter they come with and I could not be happier. Surround sound works perfectly. I'm tempted to by another pair just for the bedroom tv. When I watch football games it's like being at the stadium now. You have to hear them for yourself to believe how great they sound.

If you need speakers for a smaller room (bedroom, office, etc) these are perfect...and the price can't be beat! The bass is decent and the speaker clarity is awesome. Well worth it and would buy them again if I had to do it over.

Having bought a new computer with 5.1 channel sound, I decided to upgrade my 2.1 speakers. Overall, the X-540 sounds quite good for general PC work. Bass is smooth and solid. Imaging works well. The volume control is nice to use. On the downside, 2 inch drivers can only cover so much ground. I notice this in the lower midrange and high end. For the price, performance is very good. But I'm not using my computer to replace my stereo either.

I paid 60bucks for this with free budget shipping and it was a great buy. I hooked it up quick, it has amazing volume capabilities. The surround sound is pretty sweet but if you hang the speakers in the ceiling you dont hear as much surround sound. The speakers also dont have the greatest sound quality (compared to my kick ass headphones), but they were worth every penny. I really appreciated the comprehensive connections and the subwoofer control. I would recommend this to friends unless they care A LOT about sound quality. It is noticeable to me, but i listen to a lot of music and this is good enough for me.

Considering what i paid for this entry level 5.1 surround sound system, it exceeded my expectations. Nice that it has it's own bass modulating turn knob and you can press the surround sound on and off. The sound is loud enough for that level of watts. If space permits i would consider this system over the smaller dual speakers because of the bass response and sound quality.

The speaker system arrived as expected. Everything works as advertised. I am enjoying the best sound I have had with an older PC. The Audigy 2 supports this set extremely well. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to others. The quality of the sound is the real selling point of this set.

I have always enjoyed the quality that is attached to Logitech products. These speakers have only increased my personal confidence in their product. I use them for surround sound for my entertainment system in my man cave. They rock!! Whether it is a Playstation gaming system, Dish Network programming or a movie on DVD, these speakers bring the picture to life!

These are great performing speakers, i got them when they were on sale and with the $20 dollar rebate. Easy color coded connections so you don't get confused, i just wish that they came in 7.1 channel for my PC. But 5.1 will do for now.

These speakers perform at their price point. Ignore the fools who tell you these outperform speakers costing 5 or 10 times as much. They don't. However, for the price they sound fine. The small 2" drivers seem to cover treble and the midrange without too many hassles and the "subwoofer" is really a ~5" cone that appears to handle the lower mid. I turned down the bass to remove some of the boomyness. For the price, I am happy. As a side note, these were packaged brilliantly and the documentation is straightforward.

When you think of computer speakers, encompassing sound usually doesn't come to mind. Logitech took my expectations and through them out the window. The sound that comes from these speakers is phenomenal and crystal clear, surprisingly whether it is on low or high volume. I would recommend these speakers to anyone, you can't find a better value for the price range.

It looks great with my SONY LCD TV. But the center speaker doesn't stand well on top of the LCD TV and fell a couple of times - made a small scratch mark on the screen ....

Considering what it cost, you can't beat a deal like this. I have it hooked up to my dell computer with a 22" monitor and I watch Blu-Ray and HD DVD movies as if I was in a mini-theater. The sub pumps out a surprisingly large amount of bass and the satellite speaker can conveniently latch right onto the monitor, which is exactly where I have it set up. Even though the remote is wired, it still provides easy access to volume and bass control. I mean, who can really expect more but then again why expect anything less from Logitech...the leaders in cost-effective technological innovations??

I am replacing a 4.1 system that has nowhere near the sound quality of this. The bass sounds great, the system has 70 watts RMS: 25 watt sub, 15 watt center, 15 watt front pair, 15 watt rear pair, I can't believe that this system is as nice as it is - WOW

I could of bought the older model x530 from HP for $80 but decided to check out buy.com and found a newer model after rebate. Very fast shipment, received package in 2 days. I unboxed the speakers hooked them up and bam working like a charm. This is a quality product and an excellent value.

I think the speakers sound is good for a person that is using a 2 set speakers and jump to a 5.1 I'm coming from a 5.1 THX certified and they don't get even close to the quality and sound. I also which the front speakers will have more cable length. But this speakers are pretty good for the price. I know I will end up selling them and getting the 5.1 THX

I have a 7.1 capable mother board but opted for a 5.1 sound system. This system is by far the best for the money!! I hooked it up, placed the speakers in the correct locations, and boom instant quality surround sound! Having a separate bass control really helps at high volumes. The speakers are clear at all volumes, even max! I couldn't have asked for a better sound system for gaming, and the price made this deal even sweeter. Buy this system, you will not regret it.

The Logitech X-540 Performance was as expected-very good for the price. The only negative is that the control unit is attached to the base unit not allowing to be disconnected for installation purposes through small holes in desk.

I AM GLAD MY ORIGINAL DELL 2 SPEAKERS WENT OUT. I FOUND THIS OUTSTANDING BARGIN. THE SOUND QUALITY IS ALMOST EQUAL TO MY SONY 5.1 550WATT HOME THEATHER SYSTEM.FOR THOSE OF YOU HAVING BASS SPEAKER PROBLEMS, TRY REMOVING THE PLASTIC FILM COVERING THE OUTPUT PORTAL.I WOULD LIKE TO BUY THIS FOR MY SISTER AND FRIENDS SO THAY CAN ENJOY MUSIC VIDIOS AND MOVIES.

Really for the price this product exceeds expectations. When you pay this $80.00 for a sound system you really should not expect much, but this little guy is all that you will need for the computer room. In this case it is more than it is.

I looked at a lot of speaker sets for our computer. There are so many types, 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1 from many companies for a wide price range with many shapes and sizes. We have 2 adults and 2 children using the computer so we have a variety of needs when it came to speakers. My wife and I basically listen to music when using the computer but the kids play some really good games and listen to music so we needed a speaker system that could provide good sound for both needs. We almost settled on a 2.1 system to better use the space we have on our computer desk but since the computer has a 7.1 sound card and the kids games could use the extra sound effects, we decided on 5.1 since we really don't have the room for a 7.1 system. After deciding on a price range, we started our research. Many, many reviews later we took a chance on buying the Logitech X-540 system. It had a good price to start with and there was a $10 rebate as well. After it arrived (fast shipping by the way) we unboxed it and set it up. We are absolutely and completely happy with this purchase and would buy it again. It has great clarity from the sattelite speakers and the sub-woofer has nice tight bass that can be adjusted. The remote control is wired to the sub-woofer but since the sub-woofer is next to the desk it reaches fine and it is very convenient. This system is a great buy for the price with great sound, great size and the remote control is great to have right next to the keyboard. If you are on the fence about buying this system, go ahead, you too will be glad about your decision.

Did a lot of research, and a whole lot of waiting. Finally homed in on buy.com cuz of the free shipping. Ordered the product on valentine's day, got it today on the 19th (I'm assuming the delay was due to the long weekend a la Presidents' Day!) Received the speakers even before they could mail me saying they were on the way. Now for the speakers themselves. Although I could've wrapped up the installation in 5 minutes flat, I chose to go through it slowly, unwrapping one speaker at a time. Right now, I can only connect the front three; I will need to buy extension cords for the rear two, even though my room is quite small. Anyway, I'm using a Creative SB Live 24-bit which is still a lo-performance card. The sound o/p is terrific... for the price. Don't expect to be blow away, cuz you won't. The sound is fine; the distortion sounds amazing and solos are crystal clear. I didn't play games to check on the effectiveness of the rear channels, but then again, I wasn't planning on writing this review. If your budget is constrained, and you're looking for good, clean sound, look no further. FDD2 works, and the matrix mode kicks ass. I won't need to max out this baby cuz I stay right next door to my manager, and he won't appreciate his kid staying awake all night. But it's a welcome break from my crappy headphones. Thank you Logitech, and thank you buy.com. I WILL shop here again!

Easy to set up, more than enough wire for me to set up easily, the only problem i have with them is that the four hi/lows don't have bases for you to set on a table unless the speakers face up, they are ment to be hung up on the wall, wich is still great. Small and compact speakers that pack a punch and with a great sound quality and with the matrix mode it sounds like you are hearing the music live... very worth the price for a good home set.

Really wanted the more expensive THX-certified speakers, but for the price, you can't beat it! Not the best on the eyes, but can be wall mounted with ease and the center channel can be mounted on top of an LCD monitor.

These speakers sound absolutely amazing. I love them, especially for their price. The quality of sound is just fabulous. The only thing is that they aren't wireless, but then again, what can you expect for $65 speakers? This was a great purchase and I have no regrets.
