I've used several different compact desktop computer speakers, and have developed a rather low expectation level for their abilities to provide clear, reasonable fidelity, with sufficient bottom-end to permit satisfying listening to on-line music.
The Logitech X-140 system comes closer than any I've ever before used, to providing that quality of sound, that I don't feel the music is reverberating out of a sardine can. For what they are, compact, lightweight desktop speakers, these are a pleasant surprise.
More important, Buy.com prices them below $30.00, (just over $40,00 with shipping and sales tax) For this quality of sound, I would expect to spend closer to $100.00 for a set of bookshelf speakers.
My experience with Logitech products has been consistently good to excellent, and my experience to-date with the X-140 speakers, reinforces my good feelings about the Logitech product line.
Unless you're an audiophile fanatic for whom money is no object, and you don't mind having large subwoofer boxes competing with your feet for floorspace under your desktop, I recommend the X-140 speaker very highly. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 good performance for value speakers Monday, September 15, 2008 A Customer from KC, MO
I didnt want to pay that much for speakers but I didnt want to settle for the discount sound. These speakers sound really good for the price. I have heard better but normally for twice the price. Was this review helpful?
