5 of 5 great security for the value Sunday, January 04, 2009 razor from Stuart, Florida
I purchased the logitech system for my home before I went on vacation. I installed the system and it works very well. Installation took a bit longer than expected due to running the power cable from outside into the attic. I was out of town and was able to view my camera through the webite, but it went off line on the 4th day and I was not able to reconnect until I returned home. Great buy for the value. I plan on adding indoor camera's soon. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Can't use in the winter Saturday, January 03, 2009 A Customer from Anchorage, AK
If you live in an area where temperatures can go below 20°F you should look for another outdoor camera. The literature claims it will operate to 0°F, but my camera is unreliable below 20F and completely shuts down at 10°F. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Great idea but flawed Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Jeff from Atlanta, GA
The idea is great but they don't tell you everything you need to know.
Pro: Very easy to set up. Took me less than 10 minutes to get a signal running. The software seems very thorough and I like the email notification. The Online is nice too.
Con: There is no ability to upload from the camera to a site other than their Online service.
You must dedicate a PC to use this camera. The software only runs when you log in, not when the machine starts up. If your PC reboots after an automatic system update the software will not restart until you come by and login.
The video feed from the online service is a good 15 seconds behind I found. Makes it no good to see who is at the door if the software is not running on your machine.
Final Thoughts: With some software tweaks it could address many of my concerns. They need to find a way to allow PCs in the local network to find the camera and view the raw video. Great for long houses.
