I purchased these as an inexpensive speaker to use with my work computer. I loved the fact that they hook up via USB which is a huge bonus.

We like these USB speakers so well on our laptop that we order two more sets to give as gift items to family in another country! The sound quality was much better than I expected for casual listening.
We bought the corded Logitech S-120 locally to compare the higher 2.6 watt RMS with the USB S-150 at a mere 1 watt RMS. For our purpose, there is no compromise on sound quality and the convenience of being USB makes them totally portable since they don’t need a wall outlet. This is a priority since other countries have different voltage.
I would have given them a full 5 out of 5 if the brief manual had mentioned the need to have them connected BEFORE you launch a program. They aren’t always recognized if they aren’t connected before starting your program.
A 3 yr. mfg. warranty, free shipping from buy.com and no sales tax makes this a real deal.

I had Logitech speakers for years, I recently had to give up my old sub woofer amplified speakers cause my kids kept dropping the speakers and shorted the connection. I had it for about 6 years now. Then I bought other speakers for their computer. Last Christmas they bought me a laptop and I bought these speakers for my laptop, easy to connect all you do is connect the USB and the computer finds the drivers that simple, love the sound, very cute, no sub woofer, but pretty descent for the price. These compact speakers work wonderfully on a desk with limited space and, with their USB connectivity, avoid having to use a scarce electrical outlet. The sound is very good. The only con is the small buttons used to raise or lower the volume - having a rotary volume control would have been much easier, but setting the volume physically on the speakers and then controlling the volume through Windows' Volume Control mitigates this con.

If you are looking for inexpensive and convenient speakers for your laptop, these Logitechs are a good value. Because they are powered via USB there is no power cord to deal with, which makes them as mobile as your laptop. The sound is good, but not very loud. They should be sufficient for most uses unless you are making a presentation to a large crowd, then you will want to fall back on more traditional, powered speakers. When I received it, I was surprised. It is much smaller than I thought. It save places anyway. It did work fine till now, and I have no trouble hear the sound clearly in my room. While this isn't a big 'boom box' add-on for a system without a sound card it is quite nice. The price makes it very attractive. With Win XP or 2k3 Server you just have to plug it in and wait about 30 seconds for the drivers to load and your good to go. This is quite nice for systems without soundcards (such as the server motherboards I use).
