I am new to video messaging. This was highly recommended to me from a friend. He was absolutely right. This camera works very well and is plug and play. We just started "Skyping" and what a treat it is with this product! It is wonderfull to see the grandchildren when we talk to them. I will recommend it to all of my friends and family. We bought a web cam to connect with out of town family using Skype. This works perfect and has features that we love (like the face-tracking) ... so when we move, the camera follows us. Other features like "capture still" or "capture video" work well, but we have no use for them. 5 stars for this one! Was this review helpful?

My first webcam since 1999, so I don't have any newer gen models to compare with, but I was absolutely stunned with the high definition quality video and stills. The software is pretty cool too with the different effects and animations you can do. Great for kids to play with! As stated before, the face tracking is a little buggy and somewhat slow, but I kind of expected that.
Though as I said, I'm not sure what other newer but lower quality cams are like so I don't know if the price vs. quality is there so I give value a 4 rating. Otherwise I have no regrets about my purchase.

Overal Great Camera. Very easy to setup. Microphone audio is incredible. Adjustable resolution is terrific. Face tracking works but is a little slow and slightly jerky. Face animations also slightly buggy. However, I don't intend to use either of those features. Was this review helpful?

I manage a small software company. Recently we switched to the Mac for our development team of 9 programmers. Because we work from home the iChat video conference function of OSX is an important feature. Only three of the new Macs came with cameras. I had one Orbit from a Windows system that functioned on the Mac without the need of any special drivers. Although the advanced fieatures of this camera are not avialable (Pan & Tilt), the tall stalk that positions the camera at eye level combined with the video & audio quality made this a good choice for the 6 Macs that did not have cameras. The camera was easy to set up -- but go to the Logitech website to download the most current software. I've been very satisfied with every Logitech product I've ever bought. continue: note that all those filter/face accessories can only be used with 320x240 or 680x480. maybe its gonna lag for higher resolutions? The 9 inch stance is also very useful. So ppl can see you face to face. Not from the top or bottom. which looks weird. The brightlight technology is also very clever. even in a dark room, you can see yourself clearly. This thing runs very smooth. Easy to upload videos to Youtube due to the image size. For 2mins of video capturing under 680x480 only came out to be 10mb. OH! it also has a built-in microphone. Even better, you can use that mircophone with games, i use it with Call of Duty 4. Easy set up. 1 last thing is that.. you can set it to 'face-detection-mode' which means while the camera is on. It will follow you face. oh you can also set it to 'motion capturing mode' so whenever something moves in front of the webcam. It takes a pictures/video by itself. So you can kinda use it as a security camera? lol. Overall I'm very satisfied with this product. And i love how i always pick the 5-10 days shipping & the products come the next day or the day after. BUT THIS! its worth your money(if they have the rebate promotion again haha) Was this review helpful?

It's a very nice webcam with outstanding picture quality due to the Carl Zeiss optics. Breeze to install.
The only real drawback is the software. While it performs basic functions well enough, this camera has a lot of potential that Logitech seems uninterested in exploring. Not providing a way to control pan, tilt and zoom remotely is a major shortcoming. Was this review helpful?

I owned several Logitech cameras and this one is by far the best from quality and value point of view. The list price high but I was able to buy it recently for $59 after rebate which represents a superb value. It is not worth messing with cheaper ones. Wait for good price and get it! It took me few tries to get it seamlessly incorporated into Skype but after that it is totally problem free Was this review helpful?
