I've had this mouse about a month and I can say that it's the easiest mouse I've ever used. The forward and back buttons work great and the scroll wheel is a pleasure to use. If you buy this mouse , I'm sure that you will enjoy using it.

I bought this mouse because I'm a graphic designer and wanted the use of the extra programable butons. I have been very pleased with it, the laser picks up movement well and the ergonomic design is well executed. The only problem I had was minor, I programmed buttons to copy and paste, but they didn't work in all programs (I had this problem with my previous Microsoft mouse also). This was easily fixed by programming the mouse to use the ctrl+c and ctrl+v hotkeys instead though. The software provided makes switching the programing for the buttons and changing other attributes very easy.

I bought this mouse to replace the Mighty Mouse that came with my PowerMac. I already owned one MX 500 so I knew what I was buying. It works great - can page backwards and forwards as well as do a bunch of other stuff that the Mac supplied mouse cannot do. At the sale price it was a great value.

The MX-500 is a joy to use. It is comfortable, responsive, and the buttons are great. The configuration options for the buttons (2 standard and 5 custom) are wonderful, though instead of the default configuration I prefer to set buttons 4 and 7 to Page Up and Page Down respectively, and button 8 to Minimize the current application. The Back and Forward buttons help to speed through web browsing. Overall if you want to make the most of your time at the computer this mouse can really give you a productivity boost. I strongly recommend it.

I bought this mouse specifically for Quaking. I did not use the driver that came with the mouse, but instead downloaded the latest driver (MouseWare 9.75) from the Logitech web site. I had some difficulty getting the wheel to work in Quake for switching weapons. The game wheel fix that Logitech offers does not work with MouseWare 9.75 because it tries to edit a registry entry that the new MouseWare does not install. I ended up having to edit the .cfg files in the Quake directory. I had to change a mouse variable (I think it was "in_mouse") to -1. The wheel worked then, but no extra buttons (I was hoping). I still have not been able to get Quake to recognized the 5 extra buttons on this mouse. I have heard that if you don't install the MouseWare, they will work, but I have not tried that. The feel and quality of this mouse is superb. The "click" of the buttons is perfect. The mouse is very ergonomic and the button placement is spot on. The wheel clicks are a little "soft." I prefer more positive clicks, but that is minor. Accuracy and tracking are awesome in Quake, but I did find out that the mouse is sensitive to the type of mouse pad you have. I was using a 3M Precise Mousing Surface and this mouse hated it. I think it was too reflective. Anyway I switched it with a different one and the "glitchiness" went away. One thing I was hoping for but did not get was the ability to have the buttons do different things in different programs. I had a Microsoft product that had this feature and I loved it. The bottom line is...there is not a better quality or more ergonomically correct mouse available, but I think Logitech needs to refine their drivers to suit us Quakers. I highly recommend it, but cross my fingers hoping for better drivers with the ability to use the extra buttons in Quake.

This is the easiest to use and the most accurate mouse I have ever used. I like a mouse to be extremely sensitive but still easy to control. This one is just that. The two little arrow buttons above and below the mouse wheel make page scrolling a pleasure. I bought one for myself. Now I am buying another for my wife.
