The mouse works great for me. I don't use the extra side buttons because they click too easily by accident. The size of the mouse is a little large for my wife and kids. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 No Hand Cramps! Thursday, January 08, 2009 artist wife from fredericksburg, TX
After using a mouse for hours at a time at 43 I found my hands started cramping on me badly. Not sure if age or that I am using it more,(avg 7hrs day up to 10). Finally decided it was time to try a new design. I went to stores tested out some grips. After research I decided on MX400. What took me so long? I love it! I have very small hands (5'0 female) but I find that it is comfortable all day. I do catch myself sliding my hand down towards me at times and I start feeling a slight pinch, but if I keep a top grip secure (which is still easy & comfortable) there is no pinches or wrist strains even after a 10 hr day. Very smooth, no noticeable delay time. I allowed my pc to config driver as was suggested by other reviews and works well. Highly recommend, best value for your $ I found! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice features and feel but jerky cursor Sunday, December 07, 2008 Oliver L. from Lancaster, PA
As usual a quality hardware product from Logitech but (unfortunately) also a crappy software driver…cursor skips and jerks, even with third-party apps (USBOverdrive and SteerMouse). Still working on a solution… :-( Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best wired mouse for the bucks! Sunday, August 24, 2008 Jay from Lancaster, PA
Tracking is accurate and fast and the feel in the hand is perfect. All the buttons are in the right place and don't require some finger-cramping position to use. OK, this only applies if your right-handed, and it's a darn shame Logitech doesn't make this in a lefty version. I only had to buy this one because I lost the receipt for the one I had,(left button did finally start to get weird) since Logitech would have replaced it for free. Can't beat that 5yr warranty! 5 of 5 Mighty Mouse Thursday, August 21, 2008 VOAssist from Richmond, VA
OK, it's just a mouse... but after having been through entirely too many (some costing a great deal more) - this has proved to be the most accurate and reliable of any I have owned (including MS). Period.
I'm sure the wireless version is just as nice. Unfortunately, I have an all metal & glass desk that interferes with wireless keyboards & mice - so I stick with a wired mouse. I have been using my original MX 400 for around two years with no issues. I purchased another for my laptop and one for backup - just in case someone at Logitech goes brain-dead and stops manufacturing these.
The browser buttons save time online and off while working in my folders. One word of advice - do not install the software! Just let your system drivers recognize it and all will work beautifully. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Reliable and no skipping. Thursday, March 27, 2008 A Customer from Tukwila, Wa
We like it, seems to be accurate and reliable. The setup software isn't as customizable as it could be. Can't assign some functions to different buttons. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 As Advertised Saturday, January 12, 2008 A Customer from Tulsa, OK
It really does make a difference. In moving to this mouse from an optical mouse, I have discovered much better ease of movment and much quicker response times. This is worth the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Laser mouse works well Friday, November 30, 2007 Coyote from Dushore, PA
I bought this mouse to replace an ailing optical mouse. I am totally satisfied with it. Works perfectly out of the box. I did not load the drivers because I am using it through a KVM for both a Microsoft XP machine and an Linux Ubuntu machine. Very accurate and solid feeling. Would recommend it to all. 5 of 5 Excellent Product for the Office Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
Purchased 4 of these for a small office and they are excellent. Laser tracking is accurate and motion is smooth, even on a glossed wood surface. Mouse shape is excellent too, it's comfortable to hold for extended duration and very light. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Mouse! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
This mouse is well designed-it is replacing a Kensington Wirelss Mouse that sucked batteries like nobody's business. This unit is accurate and responsive. It feels and works great! You cannot go wrong... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good mouse Friday, June 15, 2007 A Customer from LA, CA
This is a good mouse although a little expensive. It fits the hand ergonomically, looks great and is very well made (much better than the comparable Microsoft mouse). The integrated buttons are very smooth and easy on the fingers. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Most functions work great Monday, March 12, 2007 Laptop user from Roanoke, VA
All the basic mouse functions work great. I like the pan (Scroll left/Right) function of the scroll wheel. The installation program seems to have disabled the click & scroll function of the scroll wheel because of a potential conflict with my laptop's built in pointing device and did not give me an option to disable the built in device to get full function from the mouse. 5 of 5 best corded all-purpose mouse Saturday, March 10, 2007 Bill from Boise, ID
For philosophical as well as practical reasons, I favor Logitech mice. I've found a corded laser mouse to be the best for everyday desktop use and this is Logitech's best in that category. I'd have preferred the feel and extra features of the MX Revolution, but did not want to go cordless. Logitech puts their SOTA features in the cordless only, which is unfortunate... guess it's becoming a cordless world. The 400 is smaller and lighter than my last Logitech. I am 6' and would not want this to be any smaller. Don't use the enclosed software. Go to the site and download the latest driver. In my case the box had 2.2 and the site had 3.3.165. Though the box says for use with up to XP, the site has Vista drivers. The 5 buttons are customizable, including gamer settings, but the defaults are hard to improve on for conventional use. Only real complaint is I have the side scroll set to fastest speed and fastest acceleration and it is still to slow for me. Are you listening Logitech?...let's get that handled in the next driver. This is an excellent mouse for general purpose use. Buttons can be customized for individual needs but need to load most recent software from Logitech site. Do not install software in retail box. Cord is a little short but easily solved with a USB extender cable. Laser is precise for my activities (not gaming) and definitely an improvement over my previous optical mouse. Mouse is comfortable to use with buttons easily reached. Only negative as with all Logitech products is that some button features only work with Microsoft products and not with open office.org software which I utilize. Works fine with Firefox browser. Great price and fast delivery from Buy.com. Was this review helpful?
