I have been using this mouse for a little over a month now and couldn't be happier with it. Optical, cordless, and with the wheel plus thumb buttons is the best configuration for a mouse.

Setup was very easy. Plug the receiver into a USB port on the PC, put batteries in the mouse, and the mouse started working right away. It was necessary to load the Logitech drivers to use the thumb button, but that is to be expected and was very easy.
</p><p>
Battery life should be excellent as well. The manufacturer claims 3 months. I'm 1 month into using the mouse and haven't had problems yet. I would expect it to go the full 3 months.
</p><p>
The only room for improvement is that the mouse could be slightly more responsive. The mouse movement and the wheel movement don't <i>quite</i> feel like a corded mouse yet. This is a small thing, but may be a factor if you are using the mouse to play Quake.
</p><p>
Overall, an excellent product.

I had to return a piece of junk CompUSA mouse and wanted to exchange it for this Logitech mouse but of course it was sold out. I ended up getting the microsoft cordless optical... WENT FROM A $30 PIECE OF JUNK TO AN $80 ONE! The logitech mouse has such a better build quality and it's much smoother. The microsoft mouse senses whether your hand is on it... and goes into to sleep mode if you're not touching it (sounds great... except it's more of a nuisance than it is a benefit. The mouse is less responsive as a result. The mouse doesn't consume batteries any slower than the Logitech mouse).The microsoft mouse feels flimsy, and the buttons are less ergonomic to me. The Logitech mouse is tight, the buttons are firm and it feels just right when you hold it. If you want a cordless mouse, an optical mouse, there is only one brand I would buy... take a guess. I love this new mouse. I've had it over 6 months and it's great.
I use it at work 8hr/5day and it performs flawlessly.
I also like the programmable 3rd button to WebWheel for quickly getting to www.buy.com or your other favorite sites. You can program 5 sites for quick access. II use the 4th button as a back button. Also programable. Was this review helpful?
