| | | | Product Guides | | | | The Logitech mm50 Portable Speakers for iPod uses 3" pressure drivers to maximize bass and minimize distortion. The rechargeable Li-ion batteries last up to 10 hours, and you can charge both the speaker system and iPod battery simultaneously. Using 3-D sound processing that "widens" the stereo effect, this system's sound seems to come from an area about two feet wider than the speaker itself. And with a custom travel case, you can take the big sound from this small package anywhere.

5 of 5 Awesome gadget Wednesday, December 26, 2007 A Gamer from Philadelphia, PA
I have never been compelled to write a review before but I am so impressed with this tiny boom box that I just had to. The sound quality for something so small and inexpensive is amazing. This is my new favorite toy and I take it with me everywhere I go. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent integrated product Sunday, October 21, 2007 A Gamer from Plymouth, MN
No complaints about this one! I'm not a huge audiophile so take my review with a grain of salt. Overall this product did exactly what it said it was going to do and it did it very well. It sounds great, it was easy to use and it was a wonderful thing to take with us on trips to use in the hotel room.
Just wish iPod or this product would integrate FM radio, but... of course they don't claim to have that so I got what I expected. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome sound! Saturday, June 23, 2007 A Gamer from Austin, TX
I have been extremely impresses with the sound quality although it can get a bit distorted and really high volumes but for the price I would highly recommend. Charges Ipod and the speakers are portable. Awesome price and fast delivery. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I'm Amazed Sunday, May 27, 2007 A Gamer from Dover, NJ
Terrific set of speakers. Amazing sound for the size. Nicely packaged; nice carrying case. Volume was more than what I expected also. Good bass, even my wife said "Wow, that sounds really good!" Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 good, small speakers Monday, May 07, 2007 A Gamer from western colorado
I found these to be good speakers for the size. I liked having the remote. The carrying case is decent quality. We mainly use these for travel in our camper. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Early signs are good Tuesday, March 27, 2007 Chris from Wilmington, DE
My early impressions of this product are very good. The sound quality is crisp and the volume delivered from a small unit is great. I like the functionality of the rechargable battery, and I am hoping that the battery life is as stated in the literature.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, but given the relatively high price tag versus other lower quality systems it is worth hunting around for a good deal, which in this case I got here at buy.com Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Logitech m50 Portable Speaker for iPod Wednesday, March 21, 2007 A Gamer from Albuquerque, NM
The speakers are everything I wanted: compact, excellent sound quality, easy to use, portable, and arrived 2 days after I ordered them. It adds a new dimension to my iPod! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 great sound for portable box Monday, March 05, 2007 A Gamer from Minneapolis, MN
I was impressed with the sound, remote, and portability of these speakers. I was across the room changing the song and volume of my iPod and the remote was very accurate. My iPod charges as it sits in the speaker system and the "3-D" sound button is a nice feature. I will be bringing the speakers with me to Mexico! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 can't go wrong with Logitech, but... Thursday, March 01, 2007 v_solid_snake from Philadelphia, PA
Logitech has always been my 1st choice for quality products. This time is no different. I got this set for a few reasons: 1) Logitech = quality 2) Logitech = superior performance 3) It has an internal battery 4) Buy.com has a sale.
What's in the box: speakers, remote, carrying case, power adaptor, adaptors for different iPods.
What I loved: The battery is great, you are not tied down to an outlet, take this baby anywhere you go. For such a small set-up, the sound volume is huge and sound quality is good. The remote is a great addition.
What I found dissapointing: It is a small set-up so as the volume goes up, the quality goes down. Sometimes the unit turns on by itself. My iPod crashed a couple of times.
My thoughts: This unit is great if you like to take it from room to room and perhaps outside. If you don't blast your music, the quality of sound is exceptionally good, if you do blast your music, then you are cheap -- buy something that can handle loud music. The fact that iPod crashed is annoying, but I doubt it is any better on any other system.
BUY LOGITECH, IT IS WORTH IT Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The best I sampled in the price range! Wednesday, February 28, 2007 A Gamer from Mpls., MN
First off, this unit DOES work with my 3rd generation ipod- Some of the reviews said that it does not. Mine works perfectly. I am very impressed with not only the sound but the features of this compact unit. The rechargable batteries is what really sold me. Just grab it and go. The travel case is perfect for traveling and I don't care if the charger or ipod doesn't fit inside the case. The sound and volumn is perfect for a portable unit and does exactly what it is desingned to do. I would never expect it to fill a room full of people or reception but the quality for the money is the best I have found! The input in the back is great for my portable XM Radio or my wife's non-ipod MP3 player. Bottom line, I got exactly what I wanted in a portable system and paid much less than I expected for the sound and features of the mm50! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best purchase this year! Tuesday, September 19, 2006 cliff from plymouth ma
I was nervous about its ability to fill a room or play loud enough outside without it sounding like it was in a paper bag, this is wonderful. Use it daily working outside, brought it up to a rented beach house for the weekend and used out on the beach and on the boat to rave reviews from everyone. Great sound and clear all the way to max level. The fact that its rechargable is a catch 22 though (think about what you really want/need) Great not to be lugging batteries around can just plug in charge and go. However if you cannot get to a plug (camping for weekend etc.) once the charge is gone your done, no putting in new batteries. it has been going all day for me so far.. Was this review helpful?

I've listened to a lot of these little systems and the mm50 is by far the best in its class. It's a little bigger than some of the other portables, such as the Altec IM3, but it is still very portable and the sound quality is significantly better. Bass, while not spectacular, is surprising for a portable of this size. Volume is excellent. We recently were in a large house on vacation and this one had no trouble filling the space with sound; unless you're a headbanger, this will be fine. There were three other portable systems and the mm50 was the one everyone chose repeatedly to listen to. It won't perform miracles (such as beating out a full size system), but this is an excellent system for the price and size. Was this review helpful?

I was travelling for work with my boss when my mm50 arrived. He was so impressed, he paid me cash for mine and I'm ordering a second. Great sound, volume. The included case and remote are very streamlined and good for travel. Was this review helpful?

I bought this for my daughter's IPOD nano for Christmas. It needs an initial charge of about 5hrs. Easy setup, easy to use.
The sound is nothing short of stunning. The bass and treble are something you expect from bigger speakers. High volume does not distort, although I cautioned her to go easy, it just doesn't seem possible that speakers this small perform this well. After two weeks, I am so impressed that i am going to buy one for myself. Very nice product. Was this review helpful?
