1 of 5 Junk !!!!!!!!!!!! Monday, March 02, 2009
I.T. Guy from Cincinnati, Ohio

This thing stopped working after 6 months of virtually no use. Maybe one file now and then, but not used a great deal. So Kingston will not get my business again.

5 of 5 Great Item Tuesday, June 17, 2008
A Customer from Andover, KS
I also have a PONY 512MB flash drive, but to get a 4GB on sale for the same price I paid for the 512MB... I couldn't be passed up. Very easy to use, small, will fit on a keyring if you want. This one slides the connecter into the base to protect it, my old one you had to keep track of the protective cap. This one is much better.

5 of 5 Satisfied! Friday, June 06, 2008
audrey from el cerrito, ca
I bought a car stereo with a USB plug... I had NO idea that I could plug a regular old USB flash drive into it and have all my songs play in my car... So when I realized it I bought this 4GB USB flash drive... GREAT price, Fast shipping... although the package was super sealed and I ended up accidentally cutting the little string that comes with the USB drive when I struggled to open the package... they should make the packages easier to open. Be sure and cut along the side!! I totally recommend this brand.

5 of 5 Handy accessory! Thursday, June 05, 2008
A Customer from Gold Creek, MT
Received promptly, and as described. I really like the sliding connector, which protects it and I don't have to keep track of a separate cap. The 4 gig capacity gives me plenty of room to transfer files or programs between computers. Right off the bat it was easy to use without any additional software. Haven't used it enough yet to comment on file transfer speed. Good brand name & fair price = good value.

5 of 5 Good Design.. Wednesday, June 04, 2008
A Customer from Spartanburg, SC
I really like this flash drive. This is the 2nd one I have purchased from Buy.com. I use them mainly to transfer photos and videos between various PC's, as well as to take to printer kiosks for prints. I've had no problems with using these drives. Speed is okay, and the capless design is great.

Plug it in and go. I don't think it gets much easier. Got it on special (I wouldn't pay full price) and it's a great value. Hold out for a sale and buy a couple. You won't be disappointed.

Run of the mill product, despite other reviews indicating ReadyBoost support, product packaging clearly indicates that it does not. Marketing information should be specific.

4 of 5 Fast but (at times) frustrating Sunday, May 18, 2008
sierrareal1 from Huachuca City, AZ
Another reviewer claimed his device was SLOW. I would suggest he return it, or check to make sure it's not his computer (usb 1.0?). Mine is faster than the sata hard drive in my comp, and runs flawlessly anything that I have on it. My only complaint would be the "MiGo" software. It performs well, but is somewhat complicated to Set Up, and once synced on another computer (other than the one it is set up on) continuously frustrates me by not having all the synced items I thought I told it to include, available to me (e.g. my "favorites" links to the internet). I'm sure it's just my own configuration issue, but it seems to be less intuitive than I would have hoped for.

5 of 5 Works great, very handy Sunday, May 18, 2008
Instructor from Seattle, WA
Love this flash drive! Works great right out of the box (used on Win XP system). Really like the receding USB connector. Much easier to deal with than the very losable caps. Holds lots, too.

3 of 5 SLOW Tuesday, May 13, 2008
A Customer from St. Louis, MO
This drive has thus far performed fine, except that it is horribly slow. I have an inexpensive PNY Attache of the same capacity that I bought a few years back which is much faster. I purchased this drive to run Mojopac, which it does not have enough speed to run in a usable way. Would be good for cheap storage or as a giveaway.

2 of 5 sloooowww drive Friday, May 02, 2008
rickguasco1 from Chicago
I bought this as a back-up to a similar SanDisk 4GB pen drive. THE KINGSTON DRIVE IS MUCH SLOWER. A folder containing 66MB of files took four minutes to copy to the Kingston; it took only a minute on the SanDisk. Whether you're a power user or a computer newbie, why would you want to wait that long? Also, I purchased my SanDisk in October for the same price as the Kingston. I plan to use the Kingston DataTraveler only if I ever lose SanDisk pen drive.

5 of 5 AWESOME! I HIGHLY Recommend! Wednesday, April 30, 2008
A Customer from Bloomington, IN
I had a tall order when I decided to search online for a RETRACTABLE USB Flash Drive that worked across all of the operating systems I used (Mac, Windows and more than one Linux) but I found all of these traits in the Kingston 4GB DataTraveler! Plus, the price of this is absolutely unbeatable. 4GB for around $20? Forget it. Most of them are in the $30's-$40's and have annoying caps. Oh, believe me, I feel like I've seen 'em all. If you want affordability, big storage and a great rugged design for traveling, this is your flash drive. And honestly, what else could you be looking for anyway? This is the best purchase I have ever made online!

5 of 5 Great Price and fast too Saturday, April 26, 2008
A Customer from CA
This flash drive is faster than my SanDisk 4GB bought last year. The write speed of this drive is important when I use Quicken to use the data on the flash drive and keep my financial data portable between all my desktop and laptops. With SanDisk, it was a bit slow while entering a transaction on Quicken. With this flash drive the delay is negligible, but slightly slower than hard disk, which is great. The price was extremely good, and I am very satisfied.

5 of 5 Terrific data traveler Monday, April 14, 2008
Diane from Claremont, CA
Bought this for my father-in-law when he was here on vacation. He takes a million pictures and only has his 1gb chip for his camera and a few smaller ones (that don't hold much). I gave him this and told him to take his pictures off of the camera, load them onto my laptop, edit the bad ones out and then load the pictures onto the traveler so he could clear his camera chip. At first he was a little skeptical but knowing that the pictures were on my laptop made him feel a bit better. He thinks he knows a lot about computers and technology but it took a bit of convincing to get him to check the traveler out. I know, he needs a larger chip for his camera and maybe that will be a gift for a birthday or holiday. I'll keep an eye out for a deal on Buy.com! At any rate, this product works great, it was easy for him to use (once he was open to the idea)and now he keeps it in his camera bag!

5 of 5 BETTER than advertised Saturday, April 12, 2008
wreck from Dallas, TX
The main purpose of my purchase was to use it with "ReadyBoost" on Vista. I read conflicting reviews of whether it was compatible. I got the package in the mail -- it said right on the package that it was NOT compatible with ReadyBoost. Well, it certainly DOES work with my Vista Home Premium's ReadyBoost!

5 of 5 Flawless flash! Saturday, April 12, 2008
A Customer from Houston, TX
I purchased two of these to act as music storage for my car stereo and they are far better than the drives I was using. Also as data transport, they are far more useful and carryable than an external hard drive.

4 of 5 Missing Lanyard Monday, March 31, 2008
A Customer from McCormick, SC
Although the Kingston Data Traveller works fine, my first reaction was: Where is the lanyard? It's the smallest of the four flash drives I have, but the only one w/o a lanyard. I have PNY, Cruzer and Lexar. My overall favorite is the PNY.

This item is a very good and perfect to load data files or small sized pictures or video clips, but for high quality clips and medium length videos you should need higher GB Flash drive. Overall is a perfect item and Brand.

2 of 5 almost, but not quite Saturday, March 22, 2008
A Customer from Baltimore, MD
First the good: The price for the amount of storage!! Nuff said. And the order, shipping, and receipt of the 2 flashdrives was flawlees. They arrived, as my other purchases from buy.com had, within days. They seem reliable and came with the connecting strap. I loved the pull-back feature so you don't need a cap to protect the connector. The bad: The length of the part that connects to the USB port is not long enough to connect in the front of the computer. When it is pugged in fully, the computer still does not recognize that a device has been added. This has occurred on each of our computers, home and work. The result is that you need to plug the flashdrive into the back of the computer. Why these connect, I have no idea. Regardless, it is very inconvenient to have to move the tower and I invariably end up disconnecting the power supply so I usually lose whatever I'm working on. NOT a convenient way to transport info easily. Just not worth the trouble. Buy a different brand or style.
