I tried the CyberAcoustics CVL-1066rb, but literally had to have the mic right under my nose for it to pick anything up. This mic, however, works beautifully. Currently have it on my desk near my monitor 2-3 ft. away and it records my voice flawlessly. Was this review helpful?

I bought this microphone because my built microphone in my laptop picks up a lot of noise from the laptop. The noise canceling feature of this microphone really works. My memo recording is now free of ambient noise. The only draw back is the USB cable is too long for me and it is fixed to the microphone so I could not use other shorter cable. USB is the way to go, i've been fed up with those stupid plug in ones and getting feedback on them. This mic has almost no feedback, clear, crisp recordings and oh off button is really convenient. USB means it's also really reliable and doesn't put phantom noises when recording short clips for movie maker or flash videos. bends down to get outta the way when you are watching movies - so thoughtful. Not much to say. Its usb so its simple to plug in. Automaticly detected and worked right out of the box. Excellent volume capture. Perfect as I use wireless 900mghtz headphones so a headset is out. This mic is great. You don't have to hold it up because it actually stays up on its own unlike my old cheapy mic. The quality of it is perfect, and you can decide when you want it on or off by pressing a little button which lights up green that indicates its on. A really good mic to invest in.
