    2 of 5 Unsatisfactory Monday, June 01, 2009
    DD from Mahopac, NY

Bad implementation of a good idea. Buttons stick. Lights up (glow) for no reason and makes for shorter battery life (less than month). Software interface is poor, needs more thought. Does a bad job of setting buttons for devices it "knows". Even when device has separate power on and power off it uses power toggle. Power toggle is generally a major problem with any remote attempting to do this job, but ignoring separate power buttons just contributes to the problem.

4 of 5 Need more time... Sunday, April 05, 2009

It's not very hard to setup and functions pretty well. I'm not sure it has the depth of function I want but it is possible that I just haven't dug into the setup far enough yet.

    5 of 5 Excellent remote Thursday, March 26, 2009
    Chris from Hightstown, NJ
This replaced my non-computer programmable Sony remote...and has been much better. Devices are incredibly easy to set up, as are activities in the software provided. Activities are really what make this thing great. For instance, I've got the cable box, a dvd player, an xbox 360, and a wii all connected to a component switch, which then outputs to my tv. I also have those 4 things connected to my receiver (which doesn't have video inputs). If i want to watch anything just through the tv, i have 4 activities for that...if i want to watch things through the tv AND use my amp for sound, i have 4 activities for that. Only downside was trying to figure out how to prevent the remote from trying to change the inputs on my TV after it turned it on (as I use the switch to toggle).

    5 of 5 Great Remote! Saturday, February 21, 2009
    Tommy from Columbia, SC
This remote could save your Marriage... This is a great Remote. My brother has the much more expensive Harmony One. This 550 model seems to have the same "brains" as the much more expensive units. It may not have the color touch screen, but I watch the TV, not the remote. The software to program activities seems to be identical regardless of the model you choose. My wife (and sister-in-law) really love replacing 3-4 remotes with one, and not having to worry about how to turn the TV on. I have noticed that switch back and forth between the Watch DVD and Watch TV profiles it would occasionally miss the input on my Stereo (cycle through 1 less than the correct input). It's slightly annoying, but easy enough to use the on-remote help to turn the stereo to the right input. It might just be related to the stereo missing one of the IR signals occasionally. Its not a big deal. I got the refurb version of this model. It's as good as new. It was packaged in a box instead of that hard to open plastic packaging. I can't see any scratches or faults of any kind. I'm glad I saved the cash on the refurb model.

5 of 5 Harmony 550 Brought Harmony to our home! Tuesday, January 06, 2009
    Denny from Middletown, OH
We had Circuit City Firedog install our new TV-Dish-BlueRay-Receiver equipment December 15, 2008. I told the installer that my wife and I wanted the set-up to be simple in operation...there were 4 remotes on the table! He told me that the Harmony 550 is the one for us, so I went to the computer and ordered one. We couldn't be happier! The USB connection to the software on our Vista PC was simple to use. The questions asked during set-up of the remote helped me think how we use each activity. All I did was list the exact model number for each piece of equipment, and the program did the rest. Now, we just pick up one remote and choose an activity...listen to CDs, watch a DVD, listen to radio or watch Dish TV. I owned the Sony Commander programable remote that was difficult to set-up and use; it never learned the Dish remote! The Harmony gets us to where we want with two clicks! It simply does it all. The best part of this remote is that the information about my particular remote is kept at the Harmony web site. Updates and edits of my program are a mouse click away. There is room for additional equipment on this remote...such as a Nintendo Wii, so I feel that we purchased the correct size for our needs.

    4 of 5 Not Bad Thursday, October 23, 2008
    A Customer from Las Vegas
I have finally been able to only have one remote. I have been using the Universal Automator for several years now but it would never run my cable box completely. The Harmony One runs everything and you can update it using a USB cable. The only problem I have is some of the buttons are small for big hands.

    5 of 5 I love these logitech remotes Sunday, October 19, 2008
    lc from warrenton, va
this is the 2nd logitech harmony remote i've owned and i love them. once they're programmed, they are awesome. you can eliminate every other remote sitting around the living room and with one button have your system set up just the way you want. the only reason i give the 'ease of use' something less than a 5 is that it is a little more complicated doing the actual programming than a simple universal remote. you have to use your PC, and if you own another logitech remote, you have to set up a new logitech account for each remote(that's just dumb...). if you have well known products, the setup is very straightforward, albeit a little time consuming. if you have any problems but have the original remotes to your products, that makes the setup easier. if you have lesser known products (my challenge was an ILO lcd tv from Wal-Mart that had a really funky way of switching inputs), you might have to do some customizing that can be fairly time consuming. someone else here said he was unable to use this as a substitute for all of his remotes, and i can't understand how that is possible given all the manual programming you can do. however, if i take him at his word, i suspect that means he has a very unique setup and the vast majority of people wouldn't have to worry. all that being said, don't let the programming scare you. once you have one of these, you will NOT go back to regular remotes.

    5 of 5 I love Harmony remotes Saturday, October 18, 2008
    A Customer from Denver, CO
Harmony remotes are simply the best all-in-one remotes. They simply work. I have some pretty unique devices and even they are in the depository of devices and commands. Their software is pretty good although sometimes I have to hunt around for where to set up a particular setting - but these are advanced commands. For the basic, normal commands it's pretty easy to set everything up and get everything going. After set up, it's simply one button to turn on all the devices and set them up. Again, it just works, no fighting with the remote or the SW to make it do what you want. The ergonomics of the remote is good too. Like any remote, it takes a while to figure out where the buttons are.

    5 of 5 WOW! Wednesday, October 15, 2008
    accipiter1 from Lake Jackson, TX
I previously owned a Harmony SST-659 and was therefore familiar with the brand. Due to abuse on my part it needed replacing. Looking for the best deal, I found the 500 on Buy.com and it was an average of $14-$15 cheaper there than other retailers. Being familiar with the Harmony (Logitech) it was a snap to set up. Within ten minutes I had configured it for my system and now I'm back to one remote as opposed to five. If I have any problem with this remote, it's the size of the buttons. I have to be more careful since the controls are smaller.

    5 of 5 Great value...Easy to use Tuesday, October 14, 2008
    Greg from Plano, TX
Product works great. Once you hook it up to your computer, the set up is very easy. Main activities of most remotes are controlled by the labelled buttons, but additional funtions of each component are controlled with the blue screen so you don't lose any functionality. Great buy with the $30 rebate.

5 of 5 Best Remote I Have Ever Had Monday, October 13, 2008
    A Customer from Kaysville, Utah
Works as advertised. It even works with a Mitsubishi receiver that no other universal remote would work with (important since I lost my Mitsubishi remote!) The tech support even programmed in a code that will turn my TV on with digital channels being the default (instead of analogue which is the default - even with the dedicated remote for the TV). Couldn't be happier - now I just need to keep it from my kids!

    5 of 5 Great Remote...Great Price!! Monday, October 13, 2008
    GardaVP from Stafford VA
Received the remote promtly even with the standard shipping. Very easy to operate and program. I did not encounter any problems at all. I have not found a feature between my receiver, HDTV, Cable box and DVD player that the remote did not copy accurately. Each remote, 4 in all were copied perfectly on the first attempt. As far as the backlight on the remote, it is difficult with the blue light, but at 50 every thing is difficult to read...w/ glasses very clear : )

    5 of 5 I like it Monday, October 13, 2008
    A Customer from Eugene OR
I purchased 1/2 dozen various remotes, trying to tie in all my A/V stuff. None of them worked. This one works well, although it took me a while to learn how to program it online. The best thing about this remote, in my opinion, is that you can replace LOST or DEAD remotes with it, since the website knows the remote codes. It even had the codes for my 20 year old Hi-Fi Panasonic VCR, which was good since the remote had just died!

2 of 5 Not as good as expected Saturday, October 11, 2008
    Frank Gates from Chandler, AZ
Admittedly I have an odd set-up: Series 3 Tivo; older ReplayTV 5040; Magnavox DVD player; Sony Plasma; and a mish-mash of older UK purchased Sony HiFi separates including an amp used to tie everything together. The Harmony software is woefully lacking some of the features I need to control the UK units at the same time as the US ones, but even without that problem the initial assignment of basic buttons on the Replay and DVD remotes were just plain WRONG. I fixed them by manually reassigning just about every button but I still need all the remotes I used to need. Basically, the Harmony is an extra remote not the substitute for all I hoped for. Sure, I can do basic stuff with the Harmony after completely rewriting some of the macros but as soon as I want to do anything else I have to pick up the original remotes. BTW, I am considered the go-to guy for infotainment and IT matters by colleages in the high-tech industry. I know my way around consumer products and have created a lot of technology myself - professional reviews, consumer products, professional products, many patents etc. Many moons ago I even wrote a Harmony-like app for an Apple Newton. I know my stuff. This product just doesn't deliver. It is NOT finger trouble or my not reading the manual!

    5 of 5 This is a great product Saturday, September 27, 2008
    joe t from fairfield, ct
My first dive into universal remotes and the Harmony 550 works like a charm. You select your components and download to the remote. it also walks you through the setup and testing process for each component and had an intelligent "help" button that will correct any issue you have as you go along. Set up my cable/dvr, tv, and DVD player is 5 mins. The combination of the LCD screen and a limited set of buttons makes this pretty simple to use. With the $30 rebate, this was a steal.

5 of 5 Quick to setup, effective, and pretty Thursday, September 25, 2008
    A Customer from Ithaca, NY
I got this to install a TV, receiver, music server, and cable box. In about 15 minutes (including time to install software) I was able to get all of them working. The list of controlled devices is comprehensive (my music server is a little but uncommon). The only complaint that I have is that, in the case of the music server, when you scroll down one click, it goes down 2 selections. Maybe it's an easy fix, but I haven't found time in the past month to try.

5 of 5 Highly recommended for an all-in-one solution Monday, September 22, 2008
    Josh from Novi, MI
For anyone that says this is difficult to setup, they obviously haven't attempted to set up a universal remote by looking up device codes for each HT component, pressing all the right sequence of keys, still not working, backing out, trying again, yada, yada, yada. This is the most straight-forward, simple design I could imagine. You literally plug it into your PC, run the software, and it simply asks "what would you like this button to do?" It drives me nuts when people think this is complicated. That said, I did have to spend a couple hours "tweaking" the setup, but mostly to get it to control several functions on a laptop running windows media center. Setup of basic functions like TV, DVD, and receiver couldn't have been easier. Also, once you get past the initial "dumbed down" setup in the software, you can customize basically anything you want (e.g., macros, activity naming, single-button customization, etc.). I paid fifty bucks for this thing and it's worth every penny. My single complaint is that it takes a good 10 seconds to run through the commands to turn on the TV and surround sound system. For some reason it has a tough time turning on my Philips HTS-3555 system. It also occasionally has issues when switching between TV/DVD. Stuff I can live with for the price and virtually unlimited customizable options, not to mention it glows a cool bright blue when I bump the coffee table, and just looks really slick in general. Get it!

    5 of 5 It's So Good Thursday, August 21, 2008
    A Customer from Davis, CA
Easy to set up, and a dream to operate. It is so great to be able to hit a single button to turn on 3 or 4 devices, all dialed-in to the correct setting for the mode I was using (TV, DVD, DVR, Game, etc.). And then to turn everything off, just hit a single off button instead of 4 separate remotes. All of my equipment was available in the on-line library, so it was very straightforward to assign and even customize various devices.

4 of 5 Another excellent Harmony, but seems to drain batt Tuesday, August 12, 2008
    Andy from Fort Wayne, IN
We upgraded from an older Harmony remote to this model. Programming (transferring the previous remote's settings to this newer one) was a snap. Very lightweight, sleek design. Buttons have a nice, solid feel when pressed, though I wonder how long they will last (our last Harmony died because the buttons started to go bad). Signal response to the units being controlled is excellent. Also, this remote has a cool feature that back-lights the LCD display when you pick it up, so you can see read it if you are picking it up in a low-light situation. The only drawback we can see with this is that it seems to suck the batteries.

5 of 5 Simplify Your Life Saturday, August 09, 2008
    Cal from Simi Valley, Ca
This remote is great. My friend has a more advanced one but this works about as well. DVD, X-Box, TV, Cable Box, Audio/Video receiver, all work with this one remote. Everything turns on and off flawlessly. It took maybe a total of 40 minutes going on line a loading in the actions I wanted and then testing and correcting them on line again. It's awesome, I now have 5 remotes collecting dust in a cabinet. Even the record feature on the cable box works. The only down side might be if you have a RF (Radio Frequency) controlled device in your arsenal. This remote only controls IR (infrared) devices which are the most common. RF could control devices like home lighting controls. I just bought a another one for my parents.

5 of 5 Does What They Claim Wednesday, July 16, 2008
    A Customer from Littleton, Colorado
This is the best universal remote I've had, by far. It takes some time to set up, but the online setup guide is very user friendly, and it's reassuring to know that as my devices change, Logitech will keep updating their software so I'll not be outdated. The color touch screen found on more expensive versions would be nice, but it's much more expensive. On a value basis, this remote is one tough competitor. And it still has some nice features like automatic sleep/startup, a very comfortable rubber grip (as opposed to the typical hard plastic), and of course the software that makes it so customizable.

    5 of 5 Great Product Wednesday, July 16, 2008
    A Customer from Florida
My coffee table in the living room is finally clear except for ONE remote! My wife would always complain about all the remotes and always had trouble figuring out how do watch a DVD or get back to the cable system. Forget it when guests would stay over. This remote is GREAT. Its the only multifunction remote I have used that can control my Yamaha RX-800 AV amp. VERY easy to program and it works just as advertized. I'm amazed at how many extra features you can program into this thing. When it goes on sale again I'll get another one for my parents.

5 of 5 Well worth the expense! Wednesday, July 16, 2008
    A. from Charlestown, IN
Setup, though it took a little time, was an absolute breeze. Any keys that the remote didn't know were easy for me to setup. I love how customizable everything is. The control really works great for us, and handles our Blu-ray, DVD, HDTV, DVR, and home theater system perfectly. Backlighting is fine in my opinion. My complaint, which really doesn't bother me so bad, is that the number keys are just a smidge too small, and some of the other keys require you to press hard sometimes. But, like everything, we adapt to it, and, in the case of this remote, we adapted very quickly. Also, being somewhat tech savvy would probably speed up the programming process, but I don't feel it's a requirement.

    5 of 5 Works like a charm Tuesday, July 15, 2008
    Jeff from Hood River, OR
As far as I can tell, performs as well as the $200+ Harmony remotes but without the unnecessary bells and whistles AND in a much nicer looking design. I never was a big fan of the looks of the higher end Harmonys so I'm glad I grabbed this up for $50 after the (dreaded) rebate. Doesn't have the fancy color LCD but then who needs it? The text screen works as well or better and I don't have to try and guess what those tiny icons mean because it says right there, "Play DVD". Setup took 10 minutes online and worked perfectly out of the gate. Granted I don't have a wildy sophistaicted HT system but am still way below the capacity for what this remote will do. Don't agree that the backlighting is too dim. Only neg is that some of the keys are on the small side. Also, most keys have very nice tactile feedback while others are a little on the weak side. In the end though, like other things in life, you learn how to use the remote though experince and I have no problems with it.

    5 of 5 Easy Device Monday, July 14, 2008
    A Customer from Hartford, WI
This remote is easy from the time you open the box to the time you're watching TV. Setup is a breeze, and the software walks you through everything. The Help button on the remote is a life-saver if your dog walks in front of the remote during operation too, as it will ask you a series of questions until it figures out the problem, then it resolves it. If you have a complicated setup, and guests cannot figure out how to use it, this remote will make their stay just a bit easier.

Seriously...if you are the only person in your house that can get the DVD player running with surround sound and the TV picture just right...don't just buy this for yourself. Buy this for Grandma, who doesn't like babysitting because she can't work the TV. Buy this for your wife who can't be bothered and just wants to watch a DVD, not push buttons and find the other 3 remotes. I renamed all my activities in our familes "language" and even my 4 year old now knows how to activate the Netflix box to get Pink Panther. I could bore you with the details, but this is what reviews are about...in my opinion.

3 of 5 Challenging to program, but so far worth it... Wednesday, July 02, 2008
    Brent from Hillsboro, OR
I am writing this after only owning the remote for two days to capture the initial "feelings" for the remote. My primary comment is that programming it is time consuming and a bit awkward. I think tech savvy people will do great with this remote but those looking for a simple solution will likely find some frustration. The good so far is that you can make the remote do pretty much anything you want using the computer setup program. However, programming is awkward and takes some getting used to. I have probably already spent three hours programming it over two days and still have some tweaking to do. I am customizing it as much as possible to suit me. Others might be fine to allow some of the stock settings. The "activities" feature is very useful. My wife who is somewhat tech savvy can use the remote as I have set it up. My three-year-old can screw it all up... but that is another issue... Regarding programming, I was initially frustrated because the setup wanted the EXACT model number of my TV which is on the back of it - I had to pull it from the wall to find that... and write down all of the other model numbers for my other devices. Since I went to that trouble, I figured the device would be tailored perfectly to my devices - not so. There were many extra commands mapped to the remote that my TV and receiver did not have. Deleting these commands and putting my most commonly used commands in handy places was time consuming. So far I am happy and will keep the device. If you are not so tech savvy, you might skip this remote. If you have are fairly savvy and have some time to program it, go for it.

5 of 5 Fun to use! Sunday, June 15, 2008

This is my second Harmony Remote (one for upstairs, one for downstairs). You do have to have a little technical know-how to set it up beyond the elementary features, but it is great when you do. I like this better than my Harmony 880 because you can change the order in which the activities appear on the remote's screen. For both remotes, you can program a sequence of commands to be executed with a single button press.

5 of 5 You have to try it to believe it Monday, June 09, 2008
    A Customer from Atlanta, GA
I have purchased 3 of these. One for myself, then after being utterly blown away for 6 months, I bought one for my father, and one for my girlfriend. These are without a doubt the very best remotes you can possibly find. All of the device codes are stored on logitech's servers, so when you need to add the latest bleeding-edge AV receiver, it will be on there, and ready to sync with your remote. All you do is plug in the remote to your computer, select your equipment, and create activities (Watch TV, Play Wii, Play a DVD). You select which inputs each activity needs to be on, and the remote takes care of everything. It turns everything on, selects the correct inputs on your TV, receiver, DVD player, video game system, etc, sets the volume to where ever you want it, what channel you want to start on, if you want it to go to DVR, i mean the list can go on infinitely. The thing even controls my Roomba! I couldn't be happier with the world's best remote.

5 of 5 One great remote Monday, June 02, 2008
    Paul from Charlotte
As other reviewers mentioned the setup can be a little challange for some folks, though I found it fairly straight forward. But once set up the Harmony works like a charm. Push one button to watch a DVD on a system with a TV, DVD player and stereo; instead of handling three different remotes and pushing several buttons on each.

2 of 5 Once set up, works great. But failed after 13 mont Monday, May 05, 2008
    A Customer from Jacksonville, IL
Just like everyone else, I bought this to replace the 6 or 7 remotes that always floated around my den. Not surprisingly, it took a few hours of tinkering to get the remote set up properly to work with all of my gear. The logitech software works alright and isn't too hard to use. Though some of the setup can be confusing. Just go slow and understand that it's going to take about 20-30 minutes per device to really get it set up the way you'll want. After that, there was a bit of a learning curve to get used to the new button layout on the remote. But after a couple of weeks, everything fell into place quite nicely and my wife & I have enjoyed this remote from that point on. Our only complaint was that sometimes there was a bit of a lag between button presses. But we adapted and everything was ok. However, its now been about 13 months since we purchased it and the directional pad is starting to fail. The most-used button is the right-directional pad button, as that is how we access our shows on our DVR. It doesn't respond anymore. We're 1 month out of warranty so Logitech says tough luck. Pretty unacceptable for a $100 remote to only last a year. We've even been pretty careful to not drop it or otherwise subject it to any rough treatment (it is a $100 remote, after all!) I have OEM remotes that are 5+ years old that have been dropped, stepped on, sat on, had soda spilled on, etc, that still work perfectly. It's pretty unacceptable. I'd be furious if this were one of the $200+ ones!

    5 of 5 Love it... Sunday, May 04, 2008
    Sylvia from Westbrook, ME
This remote was so easy to program. We just entered our equipment information and answered questions on how we use the units. Then we went and tried it and it worked perfectly. We've never had a remote that could control our receiver. It is easy to move through the device commends and the website has useful information. You are able to rename any of the commands and add others by changing them with the computer program and then uploading it to the remote. It was an easy process and we love using only one remote. We've never been able to do it before. The buy.com ordering process was easy, the remote was very reasonably priced, and the shipping was faster than they had stated..

5 of 5 OMG!!! Just Awesome Sunday, March 23, 2008
    J Diaz from Corona, CA
This is the best piece of electronics I have ever purchased. Most electronics I purchase have some thing I am not totally satisfied with, but not the Harmony 550. With patience and a little time, you can set up this remote to control every aspect of your home entertainment system with the press of a button. No more hunting for remotes when I want to watch a DVD. I just press Watch DVD and like magic, all components are adjusted and ready to use. It also has a motion sensor, so the remote will light up when you enter the room after a period of inactivity. I don't understand how someone could give this a bad review, maybe they could not navigate the setup properly. I have recommended this remote to all of my friends. Thumbs up Logitech.

4 of 5 Take time to setup right and you will be happy!! Saturday, March 01, 2008
    David from Ca
Purchased this remote about 2 weeks ago now. The only thing I would suggest is that you best have about 2 hours to really sit down and some patience to set it up. The activites features do everything you could want, but you need to take the time to set them up. The same with the screens that pretain to specific equipment. Overall, once I played with it for a few hours, it works great. Just ordered another one for my folks. The ability to have the remote turn on the necessary equipment and switch audio/video inputs all on one unit is great for those who are technolgy challanged!!!

2 of 5 Not all it's cracked up to be. Friday, February 29, 2008
    Max from Washington, DC
I've had my 550 for a few weeks now and, after spending 2 hours attempting to set it up via the USB cable, it still doesn't work as it should. I have a Philips plasma TV and a Motorola/Comcast DVR as well as a Oppo DVD player. When I switch from "Watch TV" to "Watch a DVD", the remote can't figure out which input to set the TV to. Even after using the help function, it still doesn't work. Similarly, when I switch back to "Watch TV" mode, the TV doesn't get set to the proper input. Also, when I'm watching my TV/DVR, the Guide button doesn't work until I press in the Info button which is terrible since I use the Guide button more than any other. It's really strange. I haven't had time to contact Logitech yet but I think I need to get some help from their support staff. Overall, based on my experience I would NOT recommend this product.

What can I say, the setup was easy and straight forward. Just make sure you have all the model numbers for all of your components. I was so impressed I am going to buy another one for my basement A/V equipment.

5 of 5 Excellent Remote for Smaller A/V System Thursday, February 14, 2008
    MailManX from San Diego, CA
I already owned a Harmony 720 for my main AV system. I LOVE that remote, but I couldn't justify the cost of another 720 for my bedroom system, so I purchased a Harmony 520. Although it had great features, the LCD screen was nearly unreadable, so I returned it. For only about $10 more, I purchased this 550 and am VERY happy with it! Logitech made the font thicker and darker and modified the backlighting a bit to make the 550 LCD screen much more readable. This 550 is perfect for people without a huge A/V system, or for people needing a second universal remote for a smaller bedroom system. The (4) activity buttons on the LCD are perfect for that, whereas the (6) activity buttons on the 720 are better for running a larger system. The backlight on the 550 has a motion sensor, but it's an unusual one: It only comes on the first time you pick it up within a 2-hour period. After that, you can shake, rattle or bump it and the light will NOT come on by motion. You have to press the "Glow" button, or any other button. But set it down for 2-hours or more and it will come on the next time you pick it up. I don't like that "feature", but I think it was done to make the (4) AAA batteries last longer. I guess it worked for that because I’ve had this remote for 2 months and the batteries are still just fine. The more expensive Harmony 720 has a true tilt sensor that will come on every time you move the remote. However, that remote also has a rechargeable battery which can handle it. Programming the 550 remote is just like any other Logitech Harmony - it uses the Harmony online software. Gathering the model numbers of all your AV components is the hardest part. After that, the Harmony software's "Wizard" will walk you through basic setup in about 20-minutes. That is often all anyone needs because it does an amazing job of making everything work the way you want on the first try. However, the ability to tweak the settings is endless. It's not always well covered in the documentation, but if you are willing to experiment - there's lots to be found. There are also plenty of online forums where other users (such as me) are willing to answer questions on advanced programming for Harmony remotes. The Harmony 550 looks sleek & elegant, feels good in your hand and seems well constructed. All of the keys light up - even the chrome keys are surrounded by light. I like the fact that the DVD/DVR/VCR "transport" keys are high on the remote and are large enough to see well and use with large fingers. The chrome keys make a definite "click" noise when you press them. I like that, but I've read other reviewers who seem to hate it. I can't imagine that it would be a deal breaker since this is such a great remote. I highly recommend the Harmony 550 (but get the 720 or one of the other, higher end Harmony remotes if you have a large or complex AV system).

    4 of 5 Minor Annoyances Wednesday, January 30, 2008
    Ken from Irvine, CA
Very nice remote with just a couple of things that bother me. The first thing is that it rattles, something inside makes noise when I shake it. To an anal guy like me it's annoying, I'm not sure if that's just the way it is, or something broke loose in shipping. The other thing is is the up/down side/side disk that controls the guide menu on my cable receiver "clicks" instead of being quiet and a little bit mushy like the other buttons on the remote. When I'm cruising through the TV shows, it's always click, click, click, click instead of silent button pushing. Also like another has said, not the most intuitive of button layout, and I'm not too fond of how all the weight is distributed to the bottom of the controller. That being said, the ability to hit one button that turns on/off many different devices depending on what you want to do is really neat, and the look of the controller is nice as well. I didn't have any trouble using my computer to set up the device.

5 of 5 Really Nice Remote Tuesday, January 08, 2008
Joe M from Lake in the Hills, IL
I love this remote. it turns on the background when i want to use this device. It really does get rid of all the other devices. It's nice to be able to pick a button and have the system do all the work for you.

5 of 5 Best Product Ever!!!! Tuesday, December 11, 2007
    A Customer from Seattle, WA
This seemed like a lot of money to spend on a remote but it is well worth the money. I have completely eliminated 6 remotes. Most universal remotes will do that but then you have to switch back and forth between components to control. The Harmony series takes a system approach so you can control multiple items without switching components.
