4 of 5 Huge improvement over the G5 Tuesday, December 30, 2008 Adam from Cottage Grove, MN
**Pros: *Up to 5 DPI presets. *On board memory lets me swap use between a desktop and 2 laptops with consistan performance and feel. *The wide load grip makes it feel kinda like a MX Revolution. It's nice to change the grip every once in a while. Feels like a new mouse every month. **Cons: *Basically 5 LED color choices - red, pink, orange, blue, and green. *The non-slip coating on the grips is wearing off - about a dime-sized spot below the back/forward buttons on mine. It doesn't effect performance, but it looks disgusting. Kinda like a peeling sunburn. *The weight carriage is different than the G5. This only hold 4 weights (4g and 7g) and doesn't place them in the center of the mouse, but rather in the rear. So while you can balance the mouse left or right, it will almost always be heel-heavy.
***It's spendy but this is the best mouse I've ever purchased, hands down. Definitely designed for a claw style user. People who use their whole palm might find it awkward.***

5 of 5 Nice mouse~ Saturday, November 15, 2008 Long from SD
I love this mouse it is very comfortable. Responds well. I bought this mouse to replace my old G5. It feels like a whole different class of mice, and the G5 is a great mouse. My only concern is that at $81 its a bit over priced. I got it on sale for $54 after rebates. My advice would be to try to find it on sale. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Mouse! Tuesday, October 28, 2008 A Customer from Detroit, MI
I recently purchased this mouse and I am very happy with it. So far, this mouse trumps my old G5 mouse by leaps and bounds. Ultra customizable and response is superb. I do have to warn potential buyers that this mouse better utilized with the "claw" grip. If you have big hands, using a "flat" grip will be uncomfortable. I play fps games religiously and the "claw" grip is the only way to go.
There is another potential down-side. The right and left mouse clicks feel flimsy. They have a very nice feel, but I do not know if it will survive my repetitive "hard" clicks. This is just a judgment of mine and only time will tell if I am right.
Overall, I recommend this mouse. At this price point, you will not find a better mouse. Heck, you won't find a better mouse period. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Gaming Mouse...period Sunday, October 26, 2008 Darkside2984 from Pittsburgh, PA
I have been using the G9 for about two weeks and for about 80 hours total. I have used it to do daily tasks such as writing papers and editing photos and have used it extensively in both First Person Shooters (COD4, Battlefield, etc) and World of Warcraft. The mouse has never stuttered or went into a sleep mode, a common complaint from my previous experiences with mice. I did have to buy a new mousepad as the cloth mousepads are terrible with laser mice. What's another $20 when you've bought a hundred dollar mice anyway? My only complaint is that there are no new mouse clip-ons as were promised. The large one is a bit unbalanced and the smaller grippy one is a bit too small. It takes about 3 hours to get used to how fast this mouse actually is when put on its highest DPI. Your gamerscore in FPS will definitely go up. The cord is extremely high quality and braided and does not get stuck on the desk like the Razer series. I would definitely recommend this mouse if you are in the market. Also, it matches the G15 quite nicely and my only complaint is that the G15 cannot change colors. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent mouse Saturday, October 25, 2008 A Customer from Jackson, NJ
I love the way the mouse is laid out. It is extremely comfortable to use for extended periods of time, the interchangable grips are a very nice feature. If you do a lot of web surfing the large grip is sooo comfortable, if you game the precision grip is perfect for fast movement. It is a good upgrade from the G5 laser mouse. I hope they make more grips, especially a semi smooth precision grip. The price is well worth it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Design, Good Performance Monday, August 25, 2008 adrian07 from Sammamish, WA
I initially had a G3 mouse, then upgraded to a G5 which I loved and still use as backup. Now I have moved to the G9 which I like for the extra button, the additional resolution it provides and the textured grip that keeps it secured in my grip during pressured moments during frag fests.
I recommend this mouse to folks who like to have better control of their gaming performance that improves individual scores.
The retail price is steep though and it pays to shop around for good discounts. Was this review helpful?

Has profile selection, 9 buttons with any presets and micro recorder for keyboard and mouse, up to 3200 dpi horizontal and vertical, Option for smooth scrolling and resistance scrolling, horizontal scrolling, and pretty much this is the best product you can get for you money. Works for longer than they say will be clicked. Fast USB keeps gaming an ease, and when I choose certain programs I can choose for the mouse to switch to a normal pc mouse to a gaming mouse by just opening the program. :D Program you mouse to do keyboard memory or mouse clicks and movements in a game, and imitate moves 1! click!! 5 of 5 Logitech G9 Laser Mouse Saturday, July 19, 2008 Steve K from Yonkers, NY
I was surprised when I saw this mouse for $62 with a $20 rebate. Then an additional $30 off if you signed up for a BUY.com creditcard. Well I did it and for $12 I got a great mouse.
I was using a Razer Copperhead that wasn't working properly. Razer's customer support was terrible. I also tried a new Razer Lachesis which the feel of it stunk.
The G9 is by far the best mouse I have used for gaming. It is quick, accurate and feels great. I love how easy it is to switch the mouse casing if you want a different feel. Also they give you weights to go in the mouse tray to make the feel heavier. It is great!
Overall I am extremely happy with this mouse to my surprise. I have been gaming since '97 playing FPS games and this is an awesome mouse. I do miss the glowing red color from my Copperhead but the G9 is superior. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Another great mouse Wednesday, July 16, 2008 A Customer from Kennewick, WA
I use a claw grip, so it took some getting used to, going from an MX518 to a G9. It's rounder/wider and flatter than a typical mouse. Both grips are comfortable and I don't prefer one over the other - depends on what I'm doing (casual comp work or internet, or gaming). The buttons are easy to click and the thumb buttons are large and fairly easy to use and reach. I don't use the SetPoint software cause I've never liked it and the mouse works fine. Moves smoothly; excellent anti-friction pads. The weights are a nice perk too - the mouse is initially very light; it comes with 4x4g and 4x7g weights. Why is it so expensive? the G9 it hands down the best mouse I've seen, specially compared to sidewinder.. good luck on buy it..(recommended) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Mouse A+++ Saturday, February 23, 2008 A Customer from Las Vegas, Nevada
I had a Microsoft Sidewinder Laser mouse before the G9 and was not all that happy with it. G9 has all the same features and is a lot more comfortable for people with smaller or slimmer hands. Some people might be worried that the DPI adjustment buttons can be pressed by accident while left clicking. So far I haven't had problems like that. I wish the forward and back buttons were a little bit closer to the front of the mouse but its not really a big problem. Overall the mouse looks like its pretty sturdy and is a quality product, something that the Sidewinder lacked. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 An awesome, versatile mouse Friday, February 01, 2008 A Customer from Madison, WI
This is definitely the best gaming mouse that I have ever owned. I tried both the Logitech G7 and Razer Copperhead before finally settling on this mouse. The sensitivity is right where I need it and it fits my hand better than the other two did. The interchangeable grips is a nice feature. I'm using the textured grip because is doesn't start slipping when my hand sweats like the other mice did. The included SetPoint 5.00 is a refreshing change from past releases as well. I would highly recommend the G9! Was this review helpful?

just had it a day but this looks like , hands down, the best gamer mouse out there. The primary features that set it apart are, the on-board ability to have five profiles on this mouse with no need for software support once the data has been edited into the on board memory. I'm not aware of any mouse that can adjust dpi settings without software support but this can!Called Set point 5.0,this is a totally new driver , not usuable by any other logitech mouse. It comes with three pre-installed profiles , all editable, and you can add two more, and just so you'll have an easier time remembering which profile is which, you can program, a specific color led light to shine when it's profile has been activated. If you choose to do so, each profile can be given a set of applications such as games etc., that specifically activate the appropriate profile(this requires software support). It comes with 2 mouse shapes that can be swapped out back and forth as well as a weight set that can fine tune it to your feel. I can't think of anything bad to say about it. Was this review helpful?

call me crazy but this latest beast out from Logitech takes the cake from all contenders
i have used mostly logitech my entire gaming life and i've never once complained of its reliability and quality
the G9 is the easiest mouse to use and has a much easier interface to work with and the idea for changing grips to suit style and function is the best idea yet
