| | Album Notes and Credits | Notes & Personnel Info | | The Wood Brothers: Chris Wood , Oliver Wood. | | The Wood Brothers are made up of two actual brothers: singer/guitarist Oliver and bassist Chris (who is well known for his work in the jazz-funk trio Medeski, Martin, and Wood). LOADED, the follow-up to their debut album, WAYS NOT TO LOSE, builds on the folky simplicity of that release, delivering emotional, well-written tunes of the down-home, contemplative variety. Opener "Lovin' Arms" harks back to the feel of HARVEST-era Neil Young, while "Pray Enough" has a smoky R&B feel and "Don't Look Back" is fragile and spare. There's plenty of alt-country feel, but it's Oliver Woods fine songs that make LOADED worth hearing. | Producer: John Medeski | Musical Guests | | Frazey Ford | | Amos Lee |
