The revelation here is that even when the violin, bass, drums, etc. are stripped away, the songs still work well. "Satellite," "What Would You Say" and the other Dave Matthews Band tunes contained on this generous double-disc still brim with inventiveness and immediacy thanks to Matthew's heartfelt, urgent delivery and quirky compositional style. 5 of 5 hells, this is a must-have for all dave fans Friday, June 04, 1999

for those of us not lucky enough to get tickets to the college tour this past winter, this double disc set is well worth it. though there are many imports and bootlegs floating around similar to this, the production quality has been cleaned up in this one and the sound couldn't get any better! the only song missing that would make this a ten all-around is a great acoustic version of lie in our graves, truly an acoustic song at heart. ...get this CD! Not only is it a double disc set, it's a very tight, live acoustic performance. You'll sit back and feel like your at his concert while listening to the melodic transitions between songs and dialogue. Dave with a Tim Reynolds twist... can't go wrong with that. A skilled musician he his. A lyrical genious he is. A one-man band he is not. A selection of the finest Dave Matthews Songs allows easy listening. But without the violin, what is Ants Marching? With out the drums what is #41? Was this review helpful?
