Now, you can own the ever popular Polar Express train from Lionel. Painstakingly designed to be true to the original, this exclusive Lionel train set features a die-cast metal Berkshire steam locomotive with a new, larger pilot, headlight lens cap and unique whistle. The engine and tender are painted in a dark, matte finish to complete the image. Following the locomotive and tender are two lighted coach cars. The observation car features a new rounded observation deck. Silhouettes in the windows depict passengers, and the joyful coach car is where the kids get their fill of hot chocolate and candy. A 40" x 60" oval track completes the set. Articulated figures with turning heads, movable arms, bendable waists and jointed knees are included. If you love trains, this set is one of the best! The manufacturer has paid close attention to detail; smoke even comes out of the smokestack. Any child 7 or up can operate this train. Any person, no matter how old, would enjoy it!

My children 7 and 9 were thrilled to wake up Christmas morning to a real train set running around the tree. The Polar Express set is not only well constructed, but the smoke that comes out of the engine and the sound of the whistle make it realistic. It also comes with a Christmas bell. What a magical morning it was. They spent hours playing with it and a month later they still love it.

My grandson anticipated receiving this train for 1 whole year and he was not disappointed. A five year old does need a little guidance with this, but it was very easy to assemble and runs great. The only problem we had with it was making smoke come out-have been advised by a family member (who also bought the Polar Expess) that adding some extra track will help train run hotter and produce smoke.

The train is beautiful, but the bell doesn't work. The whistle and smoke are great. When I inquired about the problem, I was told to package it up and send it back for a new one. Because of the size and weight, it would have cost a significant amount. I wish you could have sent just the problem parts.

I purchased 4 Polar Express Train sets from this website this Christmas season. 3 as gifts for other people and one for my son. When we were assembling the trains one of the connectors on the caboose cracked off very easily. I feel stuck and my son is very disappointed that he cannot use the last car for his set.
