The RangePlus Wireless Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

The Access Point built into the Router uses smart antenna technology to achieve extended range. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G.

With MIMO, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are MIMO enabled, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band. But unlike other speed-enhanced technologies, the RangePlus Wireless Router can dynamically enable this double-speed mode for compatible devices, while still connecting to other wireless devices at their respective fastest speeds.

To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 256-bit encryption. It can serve as your network's DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.

With the Linksys RangePlus Wireless Router at the center of your home or office network, you can share a high-speed Internet connection, files, printers, and multi-player games, and run media-intensive applications at incredible speeds, without the hassle of stringing wires!

Linksys WRT100 RangePlus Wireless G Broadband Router Review

One of the good things about ordering a router from Linksys is the confidence you can have in their product line when it comes to anything to do with wireless technology. Their stuff just works. And reliability is more important than good looks or having possibly all the features you could have. Not that the box is ugly, far from it but it is rather plain and utilitarian. It doesn't draw attention to itself and that might even be a good thing. ...read the full review

5 of 5 Stylish Product Wednesday, October 15, 2008
J from Andy, AL
The WRT110 was a substitution for the WRT100 I ordered. Nice design. Not quite the range boost I had hoped for (needed bit more outdoor range). Overall is a great product compared to my old WRT54G

5 of 5 Ordered WRT100 but got WRT110.... Wednesday, October 08, 2008
Frank from East Brunwick, New Jersey
....not to worry. The WRT110 was easy to install and configure. The whole process took only 10 minutes and I never set up a wireless router before. The unit was delivered much faster than I expected too. The performance of this device has been outstanding. I have been using it to connect 2 laptops and a desktop for 2 weeks now without an issue.

4 of 5 Glad I could bypass the software Saturday, September 27, 2008
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
As someone who understands network technologies, I was glad Linksys did not make it too difficult to ignore the included CD and just set it up with the browser based interface. It provided an IP address via DHCP out of the box. I was then able to see what the default gateway was and point my browser to that address. From there, I was able to locate the password in the included documentation to log in to the router. I only used it so far with 802.11g, so I cannot comment on the performance when using N.

5 of 5 Easy setup and good performance Wednesday, September 24, 2008
A Customer from Hartford, CT
It was easy to setup. The range is good and the amount of time to setup was not bad either. In the past I have had to turn off the PC firewall to use a new router and then turn it back on after it found it, but this one worked without having to do that.

5 of 5 It works great!!! Wednesday, September 17, 2008
sam from Stamford, CT
I hooked it up and booted up my MacBook and I was on the internet. Also, it connected with my PC, No setup, didn't use the CD which is for MS products only. There are options that can make it more secure if that's your thing.

5 of 5 Great product Tuesday, September 16, 2008
A Customer from Troy, MI

Easy installation and configuration, and has been working good so far.

It allows you to map incoming ports to certain machines in your internal network, and also allows to designate a computer as if it was in DMZ. So, you can have a webserver or your VOIP phone adaptors in the internal network.

The wireless range and performance is good, however, I have not yet been able to get an old (803.2b) Trendent wireles card working with this router.

emjayblaze from Oakland, NJ
Works just fine for me. I don't understand all the other reviews saying it's hard to set up... This was the easiest router I've ever had to install. Would deffinitely reccomend to anyone who needs a new router. The speed is a lot better than my WRT54G by linksys also.

5 of 5 Easy setup and good range Thursday, August 14, 2008
A Customer from Harrisville, ri
Installed this wireless router on a mixed OS network and a cable modem. Linsys' installation application made it so easy, enabled security when asked and helped get the other machines in the network connected. Wireless range is good, much better than a standard range router.
