So far, it has worked great. I am in the wired mode now, but, will go to wireless soon. Prints fast and I found a method of installation on the Internet allowing ease of use for both WindowsXP and Vista.
Will be installing on a few Linux machines as well. Thanks for a good product Linksys/Cisco! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It just works Friday, April 17, 2009 Steve from Raleigh NC
Used with Ubuntu and Debian linux with no problems. Plenty of information on how to install with linux. Just Google WPS54G with Ubuntu. Also used Firefox instead of IE to setup the server with no problems at all. A great deal, a great device, refurbished but brand new. Be certain you install as with a static ip address. If you need this type of server, THIS is the ONE to buy. Buy.com is the best place for the best deals on the planet.

5 of 5 Linksys wirelss print server Sunday, April 12, 2009 steve from Jenkintown, Pa
Unless you're a techy type you'll never get it setup. However, once it's working , it's great. I was able to turn a 3 year old USB printer into a wireless printer that all members of our house were able to use. The cost of this was a fraction on the price of new wireless printer. The setup disk and instructions simple don't work. You have to be familiar with static IP address’s and know how to assign it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works as Advertised Thursday, April 02, 2009 Tony K. from Acworth, GA
Took a chance with the refurbished product and for the money, I'm glad I did. I have PC's running both XP and Vista and in my case, I would setup the print server on my first PC (and later adding it's IP address to the reserved dhcp list in my router)and then ran the add printer feature to pick up my Samsung CL-315 color laser printer attached to the print server. At each additional PC, I would then run the option to add the printer from the supplied CD and it would recognize both the print server and printer (you may or may not have to download/install printer driver at each PC). Afterwards, for whatever reason it would be installed as a "print to file" printer. I would simply create a new printer port using the print server's IP and change the port desination from file to the IP address. Voila! All PC's print and I no longer have to keep that one PC on all the time (or run up two flights of stairs to turn it on and then back down to print). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product, installation somewhat difficult Monday, January 19, 2009 A Customer from Burlington, ma
This product works great. However, installation was not easy. I had to use some help from Google. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Second one worked Tuesday, November 04, 2008 A Customer from Van Buren, AR
The first Linksys wireless print server did not work. I sent it back. The replacement works great. Buy.com made the return easy and it didn't cost me a thing. The server runs pretty hot. It helps to be familiar with wireless networking to set it up. You don't need to use their CD if you have a little knowledge in networking. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Faulty Product Monday, September 15, 2008 A Customer from Amarillo, Texas
It is a faulty product, at least the one I got. After spending hours on chat and phone with Linksys technical support and Customer service, they advised me to send them the purchase receipt, photos and the closeups of the box including the serial number, as they could not find the refurbished product in their system that I bought at buy.com, so that they could review if it is even eligible for replacement. A total disappointment both from Buy.com and Linksys!

2 of 5 Buggy software and firmware Monday, August 11, 2008 A Customer from Kenmore, WA
It came with a setup wizard application (in CD) which would not allow you input WEP security code. I downloaed the fixed one (dated 7/25/2005) from Linksys and worked out. I couldn't believe that Linksys did not include such an important fix.
The firmware was also very buggy, I could not set a fixed IP for it. Everytime I set the IP manually, it just won't take it.(I seleced an IP outside of the DHCP range of my router.)

5 of 5 Wireless Print Server Tuesday, March 04, 2008 Bill M from Fargo, ND
We have several printers with different capabilities. This print server allows us to share one of those printers that we all need access too, without having one computer (the one it was plugged into) turned on at all times. It has been very useful. The setup was a bit tricky, but we got it! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 works well! happy with purchase Friday, February 15, 2008 A Customer from Chicago, Illinois
I am very happy with this purchase. It connected to my local USB epson color inkjet printer and I am now printing both PC desktops, PC laptop, and multiple macintosh laptop computers without problems. I did have to do a little bit of internet searching to find directions on how to properly map my 2 macintosh laptop computers to this printer - but overall configuration was very doable and is working very well now! 5 of 5 Excellent Deal Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Mario from New York, NY
I purchased 3 of these for 3 different locations. Took some time to set them up but they all work great. I highly recommend using this print server if you have multiple laptops and desktops. I currently have one laptop hooked up to three different printers in 3 different locations. You just need the printer drivers handy to install on every machine you want hooked up. Also, the desktop does not need to be wireless as long as its hardwired into your wireless router. Was this review helpful?

I bought this wireless print server primarily because I wanted to use the wireless interface (had too many wires around my PC). My printer is HP LaserJet 2015D. The shipment arrived and I tried to hook it up to my Vista powered PC, but it just didn't work at all. I came through the first step which is configuring the print server, but couldn't make it for the second step installing the client software. The original software that comes with it is not Vista compatible and therefore it crashes right away.
However, I found a way out. What you need to do is to go to Control Panel -> Printers -> Add Printer .. Then choose "Add Network, wireless or Bluetooth printer". Then, my printer HP2015D wasn't listed there, so I clicked "THe printer that I want isn't listed". On the next page, I chose "Select a shared printer by name" where I typed the HTTP address where the LinkSys wireless print server is published:
http://<the wireless print server IP>:631/ipp/P1
Then you have to pick up your printer's driver and that's all.
Overall, I think this product is really great for the money specially compared to the wireless printer which HP sells out for above $100. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Performance & Tech Support Monday, December 17, 2007 A Customer from Boulder, Colorado
I can now use one printer from two wireless laptops in our home.
Works great. However, if you have a non-Linksys wireless router,
be sure that you set the SSID of this wireless print server to
the same as that of the router. Otherwise, every time you turn off
and back on the computer, you'll have to reconfigure the setup.
NONE of the documentation on the CD or on-line that I read
mentioned this.
Fortunately, Linksys on-line chat techs are EXCELLENT and figured
that out for me. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Cool gear to have, but be careful. Monday, October 15, 2007 ~PH from Santa Ana, CA
This is really a cool gear from Linksys. The only problem is it's not compatible with a lot of laser printers. Before buying, make sure to check for printer compatibility. It's not in the Linksys website either. Was this review helpful?
