The PrintServer is compatible with most USB multifunction printers, and allows full access to printing, faxing, scanning, and copying functions. Connect the PrintServer directly to your network by 10/100 Ethernet cable, or wirelessly at up to 54Mbps via Wireless-G. Whichever way the PrintServer is attached to your network, both your wireless and wired PCs will have access to it, and the printer it's connected to. And if you don't use wireless for general networking in your office, you can still use the Wireless-G connection in ad-hoc mode to print from visiting Wireless-G and Wireless-B PCs.

This print server is the bomb! Had a heck of a time getting the software to communicate with my three computers, all running Vista32 and Windows Live OneCare. OneCare ended up being the problem, solved by making up a command for the firewall to let it through. Googled the problem and there was the fix! Love how this print server works over the way it used to work through my wired network. Constantly had to re-enable printer sharing to keep it working, and also keeping the primary computer awake!!! In less than 15 minutes each, I set this print server up for two WinVISTA laptops. Both laptops print flawlessly on an unsupported Brother DCP 7020 (mfp). I didn't use the included disk. If you're interested, the steps were: 1.Researched 2.Downloaded and ran the setup utility on each laptop 3.Connected and powered up router, print server and printer 4.Rebooted (for IP address) and clicked icon for print server 5.Clicked "Diagnostic" button on print server Applet screen 6.Selected print server and installed drivers 7.Rebooted and tested. It took several tries to get this to work and wonderful help from Linksys. I would not recommend this to a non-tech user.
Shame on me but I thought a multi-function print server would work with the HP All-in-One F300. It does BUT just as a printer. So much for multi-function. In fairness to Linksys, their web site has a list of multifunction printers.
Overall, I don't think I would buy it again but now that I have it, I'll use it. Was this review helpful?
